How many weeks/ size of baby? 35 and 6, so hopefully almost big enough to be born.
How are you feeling physically/emotionally? My baby has dropped low, so I am having quite a bit of pelvic and low back pain. I'm so excited for birth, and trying not to be nervous (or so excited that time crawls by). I have started to have dreams that something goes unexpectedly and suddenly wrong. I got more baby clothes and I am afraid to wash them. Revenge of the PGAL brain. Ugh.
Upcoming appointments/milestones? Tomorrow I have my GBS and a cervical check. Last week the doc said she would not be surprised if I only made it 2-3 more weeks, so I am hoping she still feels that way. We'll see. I certainly don't want the baby to be born early, but if he's big enough and strong enough I do not feel compelled to make it until mid-September.
Rants/Raves/anything else? I really, really, really am ready to go out of work. I am honestly not doing much at this desk other than searching for baby things on the internet and waiting for labor to start. Going home could be worse, though... at least here I have people to talk to.
GTKY: If you could go back in time what would you say to your 21 year old self? Enjoyit while it lasts, girl. Oh also, law school is not necessarily the way to go. Can't stress that enough. Haha.
I hope everyone is doing great, and is feeling MUCH more excited than scared
Physically, I'm tired and can't breathe. And I threw up 4 times last night, so that was fun.
Emotionally, I'm all over the place. Happy most of the time, but having a crisis over the upcoming birth (and things that could go wrong) and just...parenting.
Upcoming appointments/milestones?
Last prenatal appointment before my (soon-to-be) scheduled c/s on Friday, if I don't go into labor on my own before then!
Rants/Raves/anything else?
Baby B felt like he was grabbing at my insides yesterday. It was weird as hell.
GTKY: If you could go back in time what would you say to your 21 year old self?
Everything is going to work out in the end, no matter how things look right now.
It's not going to be an easy road, but the destination is going to be worth the trip.
How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Ready for L&D! On top of usual prego symptoms the hip pain, pelvic pain (dx) PSD at 22 week) having is unreal. Pregnancy with DD was amazing this one is wiping me out. Now to top it off I'm getting nausea. I just can't get comfortable I know when the apples ripe it will fall. But I'm ready to have this LO: Upcoming appointments/milestones? Had my 37 week today. Still not dilated (had to be induced with DD, and I realllly don't want to me. Dr talking induction due to my belly size measure a consistent one month ahead and estimating a large baby. I figure if I make it to 39 weeks what's one more at that point I would really love to go on my own. Rants/Raves/anything else? The humidity can leave any day. GTKY: If you could go back in time what would you say to your 21 year old self? Keep doing what your doing. No regrets!
How many weeks/ size of baby? 36w4d, Cabbage Patch Doll
How are you feeling physically/emotionally? My mind's been messing with me a lot. I'm still thinking about worst-case scenarios. I keep hoping this baby comes soon just so nothing happens to her before she's born. But then I think that I'm never going to stop worrying. She's been doing well but (mentioned in another thread) she does have the cord around her neck, twice, which is rarely an issue, and I keep getting told to watch her movement. I've noticed her slowing down a few days but not enough to go in, but it still makes me worried. She's back to being crazy so I'm hoping she keeps it up.
Upcoming appointments/milestones? 37 weeks! I'll feel much more confident then (hopefully).
Rants/Raves/anything else? All above.
GTKY: If you could go back in time what would you say to your 21 year old self? I'd say: "Things will happen in your life that you can't control and all you can do is let them go. Worrying won't change anything". I wish I followed that advice now!
@AlwaysAuntNeverMom "I keep hoping this baby comes soon just so nothing happens to her before she's born. But then I think that I'm never going to stop worrying." This exactly. Hang in there, mama!
How many weeks/ size of baby? 34w1d - size of a baseball glove and about 5.5 lbs
How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Physically I'm tired and swollen and crampy. Mentally I'm better.
Upcoming appointments/milestones? I just started my weekly appointments yesterday and had a growth scan today. Baby and fluid look good and is still measuring on track. Next week is my GBS so that's something to look forward to...
Rants/Raves/anything else? I thought this was going to be a slow week at work but it turning into a crazy one and next week, at least at the beginning of the week, is just as crazy. I'm trying to keep my mouth shut since I know my co-workers are all much busier than I am but at 8 months pregnant, this is insane!
GTKY: If you could go back in time what would you say to your 21 year old self? "Don't be so worried all the time." I was always so worried about what everybody else thought, and still do, and when I was younger I struggled with depression and anxiety. I've never been comfortable in my own skin and worried needlessly over every little thing. My early 20's was when it was at it's peak and I just felt so alone. I'd like to think that If I had known then how it would have turned out, I might have not worried so much.
How many weeks/ size of baby? 35w 3d; size of a pineapple
How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Physically not so great, I have a short torso so baby's really running out of room and making it hard for me to breathe. I get overheated easily, can't seem to get comfortable, have to get up several times a night to pee or take some tums. On top of the "normal" stuff, I was told that I have bacterial vaginosis (sorry if that's TMI) and it's miserable! So itchy! I broke down and cried the other day because the antibiotics didn't work that I was given and I'm so over it. Emotionally I'm doing alright other than stressing about being so miserable.
Upcoming appointments/milestones? Appointment tomorrow, hoping they can give me something to actually clear up the vaginosis.
Rants/Raves/anything else? See mini rant above.
GTKY: If you could go back in time what would you say to your 21 year old self? Get an internship! I wish I had gotten one when the school would have helped me to find one in my field, rather than wasting time and money on getting my degree that I am not even really using now.
@alwaysauntnevermom I don't know if it'll reassure you, but I was born with my cord wrapped tightly around my neck three times and ended up being fine.
It was a scary surprise for my mom since they didn't do many ultrasounds back then and didn't know about it until I was born, but I have no lasting effects from it whatsoever and apparently mine was a severe, near-emergency case.
I can tell you more details about my situation if you want, but the important thing is that once they got my cord unwrapped, I didn't have any issues that weren't cosmetic and temporary.
@MojieJo it does make me feel better I read it's a normal occurrence but they keep reminding me to count kicks and come in right away if in labor (not that I don't want them to do their job!) so I obsess. I was born with it wrapped around my neck twice like this little girl is but I was breech so they did a c-section. They just don't want baby to descend too quickly while not monitored and for the cord to be pulled too tight but everything I've read says that's very unlikely so hearing other stories helps.
