Infertitlity sucks, plain and simple. But seeing the success stories and beautiful babies that are made from this journey- INCREDIBLE!
Everyone's journey is different; some longer, some shorter. But, we all go through it--and because of the bump, we get to go through it togehter. I have seen so many names through the months (years ) and I get curious how everyone is doing!
The only way to update on how people's pregnancys are going or babies are doing is to creep in the prego boards, and it's hard to find sometimes.
So, I wanted to create a board where we can share our little miracles!! Post pictures of your beautiful babies, names, details, etc. You can share your story, how you feel post delivery, anything you want! I think it will be nice to see the amazing outcomes and be able to catch up. Coming from a non-pregnant, still TTC person- it will be inspiring too!! I don't have any photos to share (YET) but when I do, I will!!

Oh @Colleen0516! I really hope you get your miracle soon...
Here's my infertility journey: I got off the pill in August 2013, after about 11 years on it. As soon as I stopped, I started having unusual pain when I peed only when having my period. My family doctor at the time told me there was no way I had endometriosis as my lining was too thin, despite a family history. No one could tell me what was wrong, but I eventually saw an osteopath who fixed the pain in one session. Then we moved provinces and after a few months, got a new doctor who suggested we start testing as we hadn't gotten pregnant in 8 months. Turns out he found liver issues, and I was eventually diagnosed with fatty liver disease (keep in mind here I don't really drink because of allergic reactions and I'm not overweight). We then started fertility testing but had to put things on hold because the fatty liver was gone, but I was found to have polyps in my gallbladder, which needed to be taken out. When that surgery was performed, I was told that my gallbladder was stuck in a lot of 'inflammatory tissue' which I was assured wasn't endo. Then 3 rounds of Femara later, I was responding great, but my lining was never quite thick enough, and the RE had suggested the possibility of a slight t-shape uterus after the initial testing. Given the endo symptoms I had been reporting all along, a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy were performed. The shape of my uterus was fixed, and the RE found severe endo covering all of my liver, touching my diaphragm, my right ovary and between my uterus and bladder. He was quite taken aback, and recommended that we try IUI with Femara and injectibles for two cycles and move on to IVF after if not successful. Luckily, our first IUI cycle worked out and just about exactly one year ago, we were finding out I was pregnant. Our little guy was born a few days early at the end of April. Unfortunately we then found out I had a Schwannoma (benign tumor) on my spine which, combined with the epidural, made me paraplegic. Emergency surgery was performed and I have been able to recover fairly well (about 90% of where I was). I'm now breastfeeding and taking the mini pill to keep the endo at bay, and we are hoping that my tumor doesn't grow anymore so that we can live our life without worrying about it. I have an MRI next month, as well as appointments with the neurosurgeon and RE to figure out what the future holds for us (more surgery vs more babies). Needless to say, it's been quite the ride.
So, I have been seriously MIA since giving birth to my handsome baby boy, but I have occasionally popped in to catch up on you ladies! I was very lucky and had an easy delivery. I was set to be induced on 7/18 at 5:00am (would have been 37w2d), but baby boy H decided to set his own schedule when my water broke just after 9 am on 7/17. Because it was just a trickle and I was doubting my water broke, it took me a while to call the L&D nurse and go in. I believe I was sent to triage for monitoring around 11:30. They then confirmed the fluid loss was amniotic fluid and confirmed the baby was head down. My OB was out of town but returing that evening, so they gave me until 3pm to see if my body would naturally jump start labor. I was 4 or 5 cm dilated at that time (I can't remember). My husband and I just hung out in the delivery room, cracking jokes and in awe it was actually happening. I was having a few contractions bUT no set contraction pattern, so they started pitocin around 2:45. That pitocin is no joke and I got an epidural around 4:30 or 5:00. I wasn't progressing past 5 cm after 3 increases of pitocin, so they popped my remaining bag around 7:30pm. At my 9:30pm check, I was a 10. At that point, the epidural shakes set in and I had to wait for my OB to be called in. After the OB got there, he was out in 12 minutes after 3 sets of 3 pushes. I was offered a mirror for my pushing, which I credit for the fast delivery as seeing the progress really motivated me, and it alleviated my concerns of wearing myself out!
My little one was born at 10:09 pm on 7/17. He was 19 inches long and 6 pounds, 5 ounces.
Time has been FLYING! I can't believe it's been 8 weeks. We got our first real smile on 9/1 during a difficult late night feeding and all the long nights and difficult moments were made worth it 100xs over! He struggled with painful reflux for a few weeks, but he is currently on some medication for that. Not gonna lie, those weeks were ROUGH, but now he is a completely different baby and is so happy, laughing and smiling. Phew!
Here are some pictures of the second man to steal my heart!
