Why My Pregnant Self Is Crying (8/15)

Re: Why My Pregnant Self Is Crying (8/15)

  • We watched The Blind Side last night...big mistake...

  • @DoctorDonna I'm pretty sure that movie makes me cry no matter what. No judgement.

  • @Neikoda - I had started becoming immune to it! Not anymore!
  • We went grocery shopping yesterday and the guy that bagged the groceries put the laundry detergent in with the bread. When I unpacked the bag at home the bread was squished. Squished bread = lots of tears. Ugh.

  • I'm watching Parenthood. And I cry every episode. Every. Episode.
  • Oh my gosh all the tears this weekend! We told  my MIL about the pregnancy on Saturday. On Sunday we told my mom, aunt and her 4 kids (she is a 2nd mother to me and my cousins are like my brothers and sisters) I teared up a little but my mom cried the most

  • Ok, so this is the 4th time I've clicked on this thread this evening.  Obviously I want to share, but I hate to "say" it out loud, it's so hard.  Great.  I can feel the tears already.  I found out today that a former student of mine has cancer.  Again.  She is only 9.  She lost her leg just a week before her 8th birthday last year to a very aggressive cancer.  She finished chemo in February.  We all thought she was out of the woods and beat it.  She was looking forward to 4th grade this year.  Now, it's back and she's already had a number of surgeries and starts an extremely aggressive round of chemo tomorrow.  These are way more than pregnancy tears.  I don't know what I can do for her.  I needed to get it out, and I guess this felt like a safe way to do that.

  • Well, I have been crying a lot. Some of the time, I have decided that my crying is warranted: a bird hit our window and was stunned on the deck, I went out to try to get it to fly away and it was just looking at me ....I called my husband absolutely bawling my eyes out because I didn't want to let it die slowly, but I didn't want to have to kill it.

Some of the time, I have decided that (in hindsight) my crying was a bit ridiculous: on Sunday I cried because my husband was playing drums during worship and his arms were moving to fast. I literally could not stop crying about it, afterward he told me that I need to reel in the emotions- then I got mad. Haha.

@Breesy14 I'm so sorry to hear that.  I can't even imagine.

  • @Breesy14 There are few things in the world that are as terrible as childhood cancer.  I'm so sorry to hear about your student.  My thoughts and prayers are with her and her family as well as you.
  • @Breesy14, oh my goodness! I am so sorry! Why do awful things happen to sweet, innocent children?
  • Thank you all. This is hard to stomach and I don't feel like I have anyone to talk to because I just break down every time. So thanks for reading and responding. She is strong and of course we are all pulling for her.  There is a large group of us supporting her family and I think my school is organizing some ways to help too. She's in the best possible hands and all we can do is wait for the chemo to fight the big fight. Didn't mean to hijack the thread though. This is heavy stuff I know.
