Are you making something for the nursery? Sewing, knitting, crocheting, painting, sculpting, cross stitching, woodworking etc? Taking an older piece of furniture and changing it to suit your style or needs? If you are making it/adjusting it yourself I would love to see your progress and/or finished projects!
I'm making some decent progress on this blanket. I started it after I saw Cletus the fetus' heart beat, but put it down for a while. I have more motivation to finish it now that
@cjs260 opened the modern cross stitch elephant pattern can of worms for me. I have like 4 patterns that I want to do for the nursery, but I'm making myself finish this blanket first!

It looks a little wonky right now, but once I have the rows done and border on it the tension from all the stitches should make it look neater and more squarish lol. It's also not color accurate at least on my screen. It's more of a medium/light grey.
edit: apparently my brain forgot that punctuation is a thing lol.

Re: Homemade nursery projects
I absolutely love your blanket! I haven't made enough progress on my blanket yet to post, but I will post the first cross stitch for the nursery when I get home tonight!
I haven't made anything for this baby yet. I'm more of a crafter. Not good at sewing or knitting. I made a dreamcatcher mobile for my DD that I'm in love with. I'll be making a mobile for this LO and a Christmas stocking. I'm sure there will be more.
I have a piece of painted pallet art that I did for the nursery, and I'll make a dream catcher. I laid the floors and installed the trim and stripped the closet doors solo- does that count?
I'm not sure if I'll knit much for them, I go through phases of projects I like to make (soap and lotions, then knitting, then carpentry, then watercolor painting, currently in a craft lull with no energy) but there are 2 closets in their room and the smaller one is totally unnecessary, I'm SO EXCITED to turn it in to a fort/ reading nook/ something fun and adorable someday (I want to do it now but I know I should wait until I meet them and learn their personalities and what they'll want or need) that'll be full of DIY stuff I'm sure

I also go through phases - I took a big rest from crocheting when I got into cross stitching earlier this year. I would love to have a reading nook/fort for Cletus - we might only be in this house for 3 years (but there is a chance for 6 depending on where DH gets a job for his NHSC commitment) but it will definitely to be something I keep in mind on our next house hunt!

So tell me, what is cross stitch? Is it like knitting, or crocheting?
DS1 - 03/31/2006

DS3 - 06/26/2012

PS cross stitch is a kind of embroidery
The left side of this is baby Bowser
We're doing a Totoro nursery, so I'm not totally sure how I'm going to work these in, maybe in the nursery bathroom (which is really cool that our new house has a bathroom inside of the nursery bedroom, yay).

There will be plenty or my photography in the nursery. So I guess I made that.

Her room is actually a small 8'x7' den, so we did what we could to make it simple, fresh, with a touch of "girl in the forest"! So pink, wooden art, pine cones, pine tree decal. We are moving soon, but keeping her room the same, and will do little sister's room in more peach tones (inspiration board attached!).

Well, when my son got sick, we used the warm humidifier in his room for a few nights so he could blow his nose, cough up mucus and breathe better (he couldn't nurse otherwise); it totally made the lanterns wilt and cave in to each other and it looked like a crumpled mess that I had to take down.
i thought about getting new everything and modgepodging the outside so it was more solid but I'll never get around to it. Still a little woe-is-me about it all.
