try to be active at least 3 times this week including one run.

last week was first week I did anything in a while. I ran stairs, lifted weights and walked a TON. hopefully this continues. I am actually getting sick of my bed, which I normally LOVE.

no real concerns. feeling like I am already starting to show at 12 weeks, which I was hoping wasn't going to happen for a while. but c'est la vie.

If if I had to do it tomorrow, swimming just because I was a competitive swimmer, who even went to Olympic Trials in 2000. I always thought I would be an Olympian at some point, so every 4 years I am super annoying to my husband because I try to figure out a new sport I can take up to make the team. USA is just WAY to good at swimming to ever consider that. So far over the past 4 Olympics I've "considered" handball, pentathlon, high jump, this year so far the front runner is shooting. Doesn't seem that hard. LOl

    I LOVE the Olympics!!

  • That's awesome that you were swimming at that level, @krob! I was always obsessed with being in the Olympics too. I love it so much, but turns out even though I enjoy being active, I'm not actually athletic in a way that conveys any sort of talent. I used to horseback ride, but frankly it's hard to reach high levels in that sport without being extraordinarily wealthy. Oh well!

    1. Walk a ton, maybe do a yoga class, although the timing is tough this week. There is a prenatal toning class I could drop into for $18, which is high, but may be worth a try to see if I'd like to sign up for the full session, which makes it cheaper.

    2. I did well. Went to yoga despite having a horrible nausea day and did my best. Walked daily, usually about 1.5 miles. Yesterday, though, in addition to my dog walk, we went to a concert and parked over two miles away so we could park for free. I was proud of myself for all of that walking, and felt fine after. Eating-wise, I continue to struggle with protein. I really don't want to bring meat back into my diet. I haven't had it since I was 9, and it really turns my stomach. Fish I can do, but it's so expensive except for tilapia, which I can't get into. There have been a few days that I've had eggs twice. Probably won't kill me, right? I make them pretty healthy. Good thing I like beans and veggies.

    3. Not really. I just get so sore after even easy workouts, but I figure that's from first tri fitness loss and I just need to power through.

    4. Without any preparation, I've gotta go with speed walking. It's probably the only sport where I could actually complete the task at hand right now.
  • Oooooooo I'm excited this is a thing!!

1.What are your fitness and/or healthy eating goals this week?
Start bringing my lunch to work... And go for a walk 3x a week since I'm till feeling very fatigue and it's HOT as balls here in Texas.

    3. Any pregnancy-related concerns?
I'm not eating as much definitely not enough veggies :( but trying to be healthier for babe

    4. Bonus GTKY: If you had to compete in the Olympics tomorrow, what sport would you attempt?
Is sleeping a sport?I'm real good at it
  • 1. What are your fitness and/or healthy eating goals this week? Go to Crossfit at least 2x.  Only eat out 4 meals max (including lunches, which have been impossible lately).  Already ate out for lunch today, so this one might be tricky.

    2. How did you do with any goals you had last week? I made it to Crossfit twice, which made me really happy.  One day was a partner workout and I felt so bad for the girl who got stuck with me.  No one knows I'm PG, and she was probably thinking "why is she so slow".  At least we didn't finish last.

Eating was awful.  Meals at restaurants way too much...  One lunch/dinner at Red Lobster.  Only positive is that I can usually only finish about 1/2 of whatever I order and keep the second part for another meal (unless my husband eats it first).

    3. Any pregnancy-related concerns? I'm concerned that I'm going to lose all the progress I've made at getting stronger over the last year and a half.  I hadn't really worked out much for awhile before that and have really pushed myself at CrossFit.  I know its not realistic to maintain everything, but the idea of starting over makes me surprisingly sad.

    4. Bonus GTKY: If you had to compete in the Olympics tomorrow, what sport would you attempt? These days, it would have to be something not including speed :)  Maybe archery?  I haven't tried it since high school gym class, but I'm sure I'd be a natural.

I ran 2miles at gym on Tuesday and was so proud of myself. Need to do something tomorrow also.

i am running a 5K next Saturday and want to make sure I can still do it. Obvi I can walk whenever I need to, but still.

worked out twice last week. it's not enough. but it's better than before.

  • In the beginning I was really trying to be active, I have since slumped away because I was never doing anything. Where do you get your motivation? I have no desire for any exercise. I've had a prenatal at home video sitting on the shelf for a month and, can't bring myself to do it. I need help!!

I wanted to answer the Olympic question lol...I would dress as a boy and join the men's gymnastics, I think I could probably be on a similar level with their terrible skills this year.  ;)

  • I haven't been to CrossFit in about two weeks...  Maybe tomorrow?  Totally depends on how well I sleep (and how hard the workout sounds).

I did manage an hour of gardening tonight, which was exhausting.  I quickly realized that my main method of pushing a wheel barrow used to be ramming my abs against the handles...  And, I found out how much harder it is to get started going uphill with just my legs.

    my motivation is vanity! LOL

@kswiger06 if I had your killer bod I likely would need motivation as well.

I was a super skinny kid, then a serious athlete, so no body issues there. in my 20's I yo-yo'd a bit. but could always pop right back into shape.

sometime 2 years ago I put on 20lbs out of nowhere and had hell getting 10 off. Took an entire year. Got pregnant with 10 to go. I promised myself I would never do that again. So my motivation is also March/April 2017.

  • @krob you made me lol! I'm going to the beach next week, you would think that's motivation but since I can't really control the bump I'm like meh oh well... thing is, my legs are looking pretty jiggly so I'm sort of in a weird faze where I'm wondering can i fix this within a week, nope not really, should I try, probably a waste of time. I really think my biggest pregnancy symptom this time is laziness. I need to snap out of it and get it together.

  • I'm making progress here!!! Last night I cooked for the FIRST TIME since my BFP/morning sickness. I made baked vegetables with chicken sausage. Then tonight I made zucchini boats with ground turkey! I'm still eating some crappy shit during the day when I don't feel well, but I'm hoping this is a good start. And maybe by next week I can work out?? ::fingers crossed::

That's awesome! Nice! I need to run again. Come on, summer, go away!

I'm having a crazy week. Working out has been low due to prep for this wedding I'm in, getting ready to be away all weekend, etc. Back on the horse next week!
