Re: Symptoms Talk Goes Here! 8/8/16

  • 12w2d today. I feel like I've been having a lot more good days. Still some sickness but way less than it was before. The headaches have picked up though and o have to watch and not jump up too fast or I get really bad round ligament pains. Exhaustion is still hanging onto me with a tight grip though. I'm ready for that burst of energy though because o have stuff I want to accomplish and I'm tired of a dirty house.

As someone who has suffered from acne her entire life - I feel you guys. I finally got it cleared up when I was like 20 or so thanks to some topical RX and some daily antibiotics. Since I can't use any of that now I use Simple brand scrub and Cetaphil cleanser twice a day. When I get a bad breakout-on a clean face I dab some apple cider vinegar on it and then coat it with baking soda. It seems to work better than most things. I also use this DIY mask that helps with skin tone and scars maybe twice a week. If you Pinterest "burning acne mask" you'll find it...don't be scared! Its stuff you have in your house: Cinnamon, nutmeg, honey, lemon juice. Also, greek yogurt and lemon juice is supposed to work well to!. Just put the contents of your fridge on your face and hope for the best ;) Oh also! a good foundation and concealer work wonders! There is an RX grade concealer you can get at Rite Aid or anywhere that is amazing, it can cover tattoos...

  • Has anyone else used seabands? My doctor suggested them and I'm trying them but idk if it's really helping and they kind of hurt. Like I have tiny wrists and they are still really tight... I thought maybe I bought child size by mistake but they are not. Did they help anyone? I think they are maybe helping but it's hard to tell if today is just a better day and I'm still getting spells of nausea that come and go.

I use Cetaphil too! I also like the Bare Minerals skin kit-- wash with a light moisturizer. I've found my big mistake is using too many products. I either dry my skin out or make it too oily. Patience and gentle cleansers are my only hope.
  • @marriedhamstermom Sea Bands really worked during the worst of my nausea, but I had to keep them on ALL the time.  Even taking them off for a few minutes lessened their effect.  I have pretty normal-sized wrists, and they felt a little tight, but not that bad.  I've heard a number of complaints that they're very tight, though.  Make sure you find the right pressure point, too.  The relief should start within about 5-10 minutes of getting the right spot on both wrists.
  • Thanks everyone.  I'm going to go pick up Cetaphil tomorrow.

  • @AfKash Cetaphil is great! They make a lot of products and they are gentile and hardly use chemicals (if at all). They are a little pricy but worth it - Rite Aide usually has sales for like BOGO 50%. I use the foam cleanser and the moisturizer for acne prone skin. Also - check out Simple. They're brand uses zero chemicals and my Dr. recommended it "just as a woman to woman" because it what worked best for her during pregnancy.

@Gretchypoo I've never bitten the bullet and got Bare Minerals anything. But I didn't know they had a skin kit! Maybe I'll have to check it out and see if it would cooperate with my skin.

  • Ugh, I haven't had much acne on my face, but my back and chest have broken out like no other!  I've been avoiding tank tops all summer.  I'm going to try some of these tips for my chest/back and hope it clears up.

    2. I have been getting headaches almost daily along with heartburn. I have had acne all my life and it turned up a notch when I got pregnant. I will definitely be getting some of the products y'all have recommended. Thanks so much! I love reading all the opinions and advice.
    3. I was having a really hard time sleeping. But I just got a snoogle and I've slept great the past two night. Hallelujah
  • I picked up and sampled my Leacho sleeper keeper pillow...and WOW it makes so much difference. I love this thing. I am finally comfy at night, and I make a little nest around myself with it, and boy do I sleep better. Some nights I still can't stay asleep, but at least I am comfy! YAAAAY progress!
  • Just need to whine: I was up 4x last night peeing. I am so tired today. I'm constipated. Im nauseated. And it is hot. <- that last one has nothing to do with being prego, it is 100 degrees out today but it isn't helping my MS.

*sigh* tomorrow will be a better day and I get to go to the theater tonight so that will be fun.
  • @Gretchypoo - I feel your pain. It is 90+ here with 95% humidity and a real feel temp of 115!!!! It is GROSS. And I got up about 4 times to pee last night too....and the last time at 4 am ended with me stumbling into dog poop that I didn't see in the dark. It was NASTY. Apparently we are both having rough days. I am whining right along with you!

omg I've done that before and it is awful. WHINE AWAY! Misery loves company :-)
  • 1. How many weeks are you? 13 weeks tomorrow! I cannot believe it.

    2. What are your symptoms this week? Nausea is still bad, but I have started to get these stretchy pains on both sides of my stomach, especially when I get up or turn over. Not sure what that's about, but it is no fun.

    3. Rants/raves/questions/concerns? I'm really sick of feeling crappy every day. I want to go back to eating real food, and less junk. But nothing tastes good except carbs, or wants to stay down. I'm also really missing cooking and baking... those were pretty much my hobbies before, but I can't really handle the smells and the heat with the nausea.

Sorry for whining today, I think things have just been wearing on me
Rainbow baby Dean is due 2/17/17!
  • What's pregnancy without whining?? Whine on!

  • 11+1 today.

Still nausea, although less actual throwing up (FX it stays that way) and good Lord, the exhaustion! I have been late to work almost everyday because I can't drag my butt out of bed, and by lunch all I wanna do is pull a George Costanza and hide and sleep under my desk.

I am feeling like the worst mom ever because my 4 year old said the other day that  I don't want to play with him, I just want to sit on the couch. Poor thing is right though! I have no energy and feel sick so it is just so hard to do anything, nevermind play/run around. Not to mention it has been insanely hot and humid here so I definitely don't want to be playing outside. I have been coloring and reading with him more to try and make up for it, and those things can be done sitting down. I am really hoping that 2nd trimester will be much better so I can stop feeling like a neglectful mean mom!

  • 15+2 according to baby size
My hips are so uncomfortable. I'm okay if I'm walking around but while I'm up the baby settles into my pelvis and I have to get better about easing into a chair instead of just plopping because I've found that holy hell does it hurt to do to that now! Also shifting position while laying down, standing up, etc just hurts so bad. It feels like I have a few very taut guitar strings in my belly that get "twanged" every time I move. Ow!

The nausea came back with a damn vengeance yesterday and today but I had several good days before that so I can't complain too much. Anyone else having issues with fine muscle coordination? I've suddenly found my typing accuracy and speed WAY down both on my phone and on a standard keyboard. Frustration doesn't even begin to cover it!
  • I am seriously so sick of these nightly vomiting sessions I have. I feel awful complaining, but that's how I feel.

  • Will I ever be hungry again? And at a normal time? I'm hungry at like 5:30 when I wake up and I'm really not again until maybe 4 and only for a snack. Then I feel like I could eat 6 burgers and save room for pie at 10:30 pm. AHHH!
  • @jlellis603 my appetite is all over the place, too.  Mostly it's way down.  I'm almost never hungry for dinner anymore.  I wasn't terribly worried about it, because I normally work out like a maniac, but haven't been getting much exercise.  I figured that the lowered appetite was just my body balancing out my lowered calorie needs from not working out.  But I got on the scale this morning, and I've lost weight again.  Between my boobs growing like crazy and all the fluid volume I'm supposedly building, shouldn't I be gaining weight by now??
  • I had a few REALLY good days and I was sooooo happy thinking I'm almost out of the woods. And then today I can't stop throwing up :( misery.

That didn't even occur to me! I haven been getting much exercise either. And I figured since I have to force myself to eat like my regular healthy diet which hardly ever beats out the carbs, I thought I'd be gaining too. I've only gained the baby which I guess I'm glad with so I'm not gaining too much but still! Did you have a lot of throwing up? Because I didn't once - I figure if I had, I'd be losing as well.

I lost 15 pounds when I was pregnant with number 1 before I started gaining any weight. I was about 20 weeks along before I posted a gain. I never threw up and was still eating but found that I got full much faster. My doctor even told me to eat a bowl full of ice cream at night which I replied that I was already doing that :) I only gained 10 pounds on my prepregnancy weight at the end.

With this one I am only down 4 pounds so far with no throwing up. I find that I get full a lot faster still and I have had a lot more nausea this time around.

Edit: After rereading this it kind of seems to come off a little braggy and I do not mean for it to. I am in the overweight category so 10-15 is what my doctor recommends I gain anyway.  I was just merely saying not to worry to much at this point about losing a little bit it will come back.

  • I am 13wk+3D.

I still have some nausea, usually at the end of the day or when I have to change a dirty diaper.

Otherwise my energy levels are up and I am feeling a lot better. The heartburn is real but if I take Pepcid AC before bed it doesn't bother me too much and I just use tums during the day.

  • I'm currently down about 7lbs. But that said, all I've been eating is carbs carbs carbs and ice cream... So that will change quickly. I gained too much with DD so I'm hoping I can start eating better once I (hopefully) start feeling better.

  • My morning sickness just seems to be getting more vicious. I'm 13 weeks exactly today and I don't get it. HOW is it worse?!

I feel like all I eat is carbs and ice cream and applesauce. Nothing else has stayed down in two days, despite all the nausea meds. WTF.
Rainbow baby Dean is due 2/17/17!
  • @jlellis603 nope, never threw up once.  That's why I'm surprised that I've lost weight.  I've done a fair amount of researching around and I've seen so many people who've lost weight because of being sick, but nobody is every like, "I feel fine but I'm losing weight."  I've had a little nausea here and there, and I'm not as interested in cheese as I normally am, but for the most part, my stomach has been fine.
  • 13 weeks.

TMI? Got surprised by a nice glob of leukorrhea in my underwear today. Panicky moment, and then, oh, yeah, I had that last time, too. I knew there was a reason I'd gotten pantyliners after my BFP. Wooo.

  • Ok, whining here today, I have had diarrhea all day today and feel like crap.   I have been hiding upstairs all afternoon.   Husband makes dinner for him and the kids.  With broccoli.  The smell immediately spreads upstairs and makes me want to hurl.  I open windows, close my door and make the kids brush their teeth before they can talk to me.

I might not be able to get downstairs for days.   Ughhhhhh

  • Why am I throwing up still?

  • I haven't held down food all weekend. It's been rooouuuggghhhh
  • Two days ago, I started getting this pain in my right arm and I don't know what it's from. My entire arm is sore and weak. It hurts more when I bend my elbow.  My pinky and ring fingers are tingly. I don't think it's carpal tunnel because it's associated with the elbow.  Supposedly, my husband said I was crying in my sleep from the pain.  It has to be a nerve being pinched somewhere.

  • @AfKash you can get cubital tunnel in your elbow!  It's basically carpal tunnel, except in the elbow instead of the wrist.  Like carpal tunnel, it can be pregnancy-induced.  I had some tingling in my hands and fingers in the mornings until I got the hang of sleeping on my sides. It's so annoying.  I'm sorry you're dealing with that - it sounds uncomfortable!
  • Thanks @NiceyMeany! I have an appointment this week with my OB's PA. Def going to ask her.  Can't deal with this pain on top of vomiting and headaches.

  • I haven't held down food all weekend. It's been rooouuuggghhhh
