20 weeks

How big is baby?
The size of a palmier cookie, an axolotl (wtf is that?!), a paper airplane, a belgian endive, a small banana, an artichoke, a fat stack of cash (if only I could birth that...), or a red Swingline stapler (clearly a different size than other colors).

Whats going on this week?
Our anatomy scan is tomorrow yay! We already know the sex, but I'm eager to make sure I'm building all these organs correctly with my ute and all.

I think my low blood pressure is settling out, but once I flip to the other side, I get tons of little broken capillaries in my chest, arms, and shoulders. My chest is already super spotty. I suppose this is preferable to passing out though...

Same birth plan as last time - whatever the hell I have to do to get this thing out of me! Start with the least invasive and work my way up as needed. I'm open to laboring in the water, though last time I hadn't dilated big enough to do that prior to needing an epidural. So...we'll see what happens.

Whats going on this week? - Not much, just work.  Getting the house in order for a baby.

Rants/Raves/Questions? - Getting up to pee so many times during the night.  That is getting old.  And my cat is mad at me.  I had to take her to the vet and she has been shunning me for the last two days.  She doesn't seem to understand that it is for her own good!

GTKY: Do you have a birth plan? - Please share if you want! - No, I haven't really thought about it.  My plan is to go with the flow and hopefully everything happens as it should.

How big is baby?
chinchilla, bunch o grapes, Barbie, grapefruit - I craved bananas at 20 weeks and started craving grapes yesterday.. Maybe my preferences are indicative.

Whats going on this week?
LOTS. Monthly Drs appt today, first time parents class on Saturday and my work baby shower on Sunday.

Rants/Raves/Questions?
DH woke me up to talk this morning. He is stressing about some work related things. I completely understand why he's upset but today was my only day to sleep in so I probably wasn't as supportive as I should have been. This was supposed to be a rant, but now I just feel bad.

Not like I thought I would. I had a cousin pass away while getting an epidural about 10 years ago. I know that is extremely rare but I still think 'it could happen' - as I get further along though I think when it comes down to it the pain will outweigh the fear. That being said my hospital birth suites all have birthing tubs and I am excited for the prospect of using it.

Whats going on this week? Not a whole lot. I'm just continuing my real estate classes and I have a checkup with the doc on Friday. 

Rants/Raves/Questions? I feel like I am woefully unprepared for all of this parenthood stuff. Our nursery is still an office, we have nothing ready. If this baby comes super early, we are f'ed. So fingers crossed for her to hang out for a few more months!

FYI: Endive is a bitter green, but there is also red versions . There is endive salads, or you can grill it. People also use the leaves as a lettuce cups. (I went to culinary school) I am personally not a fan but my husband like it. It is similar to radicchio.

Whats going on this week? my in laws are coming to visit for the day tomorrow.

Rants/Raves/Questions? I felt myself getting sick last night and then I woke up in the middle of the night with a sore throat and a horrible headache. I really just feel like cra today. I just hope I feel better for the in laws visit tomorrow 

GTKY: Do you have a birth plan? Please share if you want! I had an epidural with my first 2. I was thinking I would try and go med free this time and labor in the whirlpool tub that they have at the hospital. But now I am rethink king my plan. We will see how long this labor is then adjust from there.

Whats going on this week?: Hospital tour tomorrow evening! Excited to time the drive to the hospital and see what digs they've got.

GTKY: Do you have a birth plan? Please share if you want! I haven't written it down yet, but I have a lot of ideas. For sure no epidurals. If I need medication I'm going with the IV. Bringing a labor ball, some music, and I'm not going to give birth on my back if I can help it.

Rants/Raves/Questions? Woke up this morning with hip pain ....I really wish I had a softer bed! This side sleeping thing is getting old already.

GTKY: Do you have a birth plan? Please share if you want! I had a c-section with DS after failure to progress during labor. After lots of discussion with doc, we've decided to do a repeat c-section. Doctor thinks I'm unlikely to have a successful VBAC and I'd rather not go through however many hours of failed labor only to end up with a C/S anyway. C/S is scheduled for 12/12.

How big is baby? coconut, papaya, corn on the cob (although these vary so much in size... so maybe just the size of the typical corn on the cob holder dish 0 which we'll probably have tonight so I can compare!), American guinea pig, water bottle (the pic was a Nalgene bottle), flaugnarde (some French dessert with fruit arranged in a buttered dish and covered with a thick flan-like batter).

Whats going on this week? Dentist tomorrow; my teeth will hurt for a few days as my hygienist is tough on them. And hopefully the weather will stay away for the Boyz II Men/En Vogue concert we have tickets for on Wednesday! It's supposed to be scattered t-storms ALL day. Boo!!

Rants/Raves/Questions? I've ranted about my boobs not growing yet, and my hair being grosser than gross... so let's see. Oh, acne. It's not bad, but when it has flared up, it takes me back to puberty and the awful places it would strike it's ugly head. I suffered from it bad. On the positive, I think I *sometimes* feel him kick. He was breech at my A/S a couple weeks ago, and know that can change daily... but every "kick" is at the bottom, and I know it's just not gas!

GTKY: Do you have a birth plan? Please share if you want! I have a plan to give birth and that is about it. If it's vaginal or by c-section... whatever will be better for me at that time. I want to have music on during, though... I'll bring my iPod so it's just what I want to listen to. And, maybe Christmas music!

GTKY: Do you have a birth plan? Please share if you want! I swear I am so unprepared...especially with this being my first pregnancy. I haven't read anything really, or made any plans. A friend of mine who is about to have her 2nd kid sent me examples of birth plans to look over. I just found them in a stack of papers I was cleaning this weekend lol.

Nothing much. Nothing baby related. Have a couple play dates lined up for DS, lunch plans w/o DS on Thurs which I'm excited about (eating at my own pace, having adult conversation.... such luxury!!), girl's night with my sister Friday night

I'm having a RCS. DS was an emergency CS due to flipping to breech so we're scheduling that for 39wks unless things progress sooner

Whats going on this week? spent all weekend clearing out the spare bedroom. Nursery paint goes on the walls tomorrow. We went with "reef blue", just a light blue, really.

Rants/Raves/Questions? we leave for vacation (down the shore) for a whole week on Saturday. Super excited about a 3 day work week and eating ice cream every night lol

Whats going on this week? Nothing baby related... I ordered the dresser for the nursery yesterday. They say it will be delivered next Monday-Wednesday but I'm hoping it will be here Friday.

Rants/Raves/Questions? Hip pain is getting a little crazy. May call my Chiro to see if I can get in today or tomorrow.

GTKY: Do you have a birth plan? Please share if you want! I'm hoping to go without any pain medication but who knows what will happen. My mother is convinced that the women in our family all have quick labors and that the baby will be here early. I'm not convinced so I'm going to go with whatever needs to happen I guess.

Whats going on this week? Not much this week. We've officially started working on our registry now that we know baby is a girl. I'm having fun imagining the nursery and baby, but trying hard not to get overwhelmed by all the decisions at the same time.

Rants/Raves/Questions? This week is going pretty well. Baby girl's kicks are getting a little bit stronger, but that means they kind of tickle me! I've been having moments trying not to crack up laughing while sitting at my desk at work.
Rant- Getting up to pee in the middle of the night... I am not the best middle of the night person. I really need sleep to function. The other night I got up at about 3:30 to pee and didn't notice that I had lifted the more than just the lid to the toilet, but also the seat! I almost fell in! Caught myself with my arm slamming in to the sink vanity. There might have been some cursing involved. The worst part was, I can't even blame DH for leaving the seat up- it was my own groggy fault!

GTKY: Do you have a birth plan? Please share if you want! I don't have anything fully formed yet. I'd like to go as low intervention as possible. We have some childbirth classes coming up in September and October, so I will probably come up with some more details then.

Whats going on this week? Nothing too crazy. I hope a quick quiet work week followed by a long relaxing no-plans weekend. I'm feeling little squish move more frequently lately which makes my heart so happy

Rants/Raves/Questions? I am swelling a lot in my feet which is frustrating. It's more difficult than I imagined trying to keep my feet up quite often. I have a long ways to go, so I best get used to it! If anyone has any suggestions I'm open to hearing things that have worked to help!

GTKY: Do you have a birth plan? Please share if you want! I don't have a specific birth plan. DH and I are both on the same page as far as what we do and don't want, but are still flexible. I'm pretty tough with pain, but I have nothing against an epidural, so I am sure I will end up getting one. Absolutely no forceps.

Whats going on this week? Doc appt tomorrow, putting apartment back together after carpet was replaced, thank you cards for baby shower.

Rants/Raves/Questions? Feeling baby move I think - lots of feelings like big bubbles popping in low abdomen. Hoping this doesn't mean she's breech. I really don't want a csection. I had a dream I had a csection the other night. Work is so crappy. Counting down the days, wondering if I could convince DH we only need one income. 

GTKY: Do you have a birth plan? Please share if you want! As natural as possible for as long as possible. If I do have interventions, I don't want it to be an epidural if I can help it because I want to feel the urge to push and I don't want to labor on my back. Other than that, iPod playlist, hopefully I get a room with a tub, and im bringing a labor ball. Then I want that baby on my chest asap. We'll see what happens. I just want it to be empowering vs disempowering is really my primary goal, besides having a healthy birth and baby, obviously.

Rant- I am still struggling with nausea almost daily and envious of all of my friends who have had nearly symptom-free pregnancies. This is my first and only pregnancy, so I'm trying to enjoy the process.

My best friend from Oregon just moved here to Georgia and I'm so excited! I also went on a tour around the labor and delivery hospital last night and it was very informative.

Still trying to gain weight. OB wants me to eat more protein, and honestly, that's the one thing my body doesn't want right now is meat. And I can only eat so much dairy.

Not really! I have a heart-shaped uterus, so I'm just going with the flow right now incase something comes up and they tell me I have to deliver early/have a c-section.

Get to the hospital on time - get the kid out!  Lol.  I know that things can change really easily so I am trying not to get my mind set on a certain way I'd like it all done.  I would prefer not to be induced.  I am AMA so right now they generally suggest inducing on the due date which at this point I'd like to avoid (ask me again in 4 months and I might be like... get.her.out.now).
