FFFC (8/5)

Re: FFFC (8/5)

  • Love my DH to death but I'm a little excited about his business trip next week...I can come home from work and not worry about doing a damn thing...laundry, cooking, cleaning..just vegging out with the dog :)
My DH is gone for two weeks at a time and I honestly love it, sure I miss him but I think if he worked a regular 9-5 job I'd go insane, I get alone time and don't  have to cook 3 meals a day for him lol.
My husband works 24 on, 48 off and I am somewhat ashamed to admit that I look forward to those days he works. And even a little more ashamed that I was annoyed (but didn't let him know) that he decided to take a comp day this week so he has 5 days off in a row. One more day to go...I can do this. I love the man dearly but I need a break!

  • After reading this I have an overwhelming urge to create a whole thread about whether I can count my packet of freezedried tangerines as a serving of fruit today.

Also, while I was trying to get pregnant I had an acquaintance who'd make regular facebook posts about eating sushi, eating unheated deli meat, eating runny eggs, going on amusement park rides she wasn't supposed to, etc. It was like 1-3 posts a week and I didn't ever speak up but half of me feels bad for being so judgmental and the other half of me is still SO bothered by her choices and I seriously don't know why I can't just let it go because literally this woman isn't even in the same state as me and we were never close.

Another confession: This past week I have had deli meat and runny eggs. Is eat sushi from my favorite sushi place, I trust it. I just dont think the risk Is that high. Not that I judge women who abstain or anything.

I feel like I should caveat- everything being food items.
  • @librarymom917 @thisisallyson DH has been living 500 miles away for the past year! He had to move temporarily for work and I still work here in NY so it's just what we've needed to do. It was super tough at first but now, I can't imagine what it will be like when he gets home in a few months and we're all together every day!!!
  • @Jparisi926 oh my goodness, I think the longest I've been away from DH was 3 1/2 weeks, he's usually only 5 hrs away but I never go see him because he goes straight to bed after eating, so when he's not working he's only awake like 2 hrs.  That will be an adjustment for you for sure!

  • @kjd291 yes! I could probably drink every night if I wasn't pregnant, especially after the bedtime fights with my 11 yr old. jeeeezzz. Instead I watch supernatural as my "I survived" treat

I had sushi for dinner (disclaimer: they were all rolls with cooked fish).
I've had sushi for lunch twice so far (rolls with raw fish both times)! It's the absolute best. To be honest, I feel far more guilty over the Chinese buffet I plan on hitting up for lunch today. ;)

@librarymom917 I watch Netflix reruns of Supernatural when I work out! I always long for the glory days of Seasons 4 & 5.

Oh man I love sushi. DH is adamant that I don't eat it though...but I will admit I had some when I was out of town a couple weeks ago for work. I read up on it and there were a couple studies or expert opinions that made me feel better. And it's not like I plan on having it everyday. I want to point out to him that entire countries have diets that revolve heavily around sushi and they're all fine, but he's not having any of it. He's just super cautious and protective and most of the time it's super adorable...but not when I want my sushi!!

  • I had sushi last night and I don't feel bad about it
  • @mcdonald-bailey I don't regret it! It was delicious! But I won't be telling DH about it because he'd freak.

I'm loving Arby's Beef n' Cheddar sandwiches FAR too much. I'm a vegetarian on hiatus because of beef and cheddars that are necessary during this pregnancy.

I'm the same way when my husband travels. Of course I miss him but it's nice to have complete control of the remote. :)
