Test results in 7-10 days...

So I went to the midwife last Fri and had 7 vials of blood drawn HCG, progesterone, and some other things. I then went back yesterday for another HCG and progesterone. They had me initial but said why ware you making that face, I said because where is progesterone? Why am I having thyroid drawn, that was done Friday I thought. So the lab technician went to check and then another midwife said to just draw HCG. I was frustrated but maybe I misunderstood. My midwife was out so they couldn't do anything....And it's frustrating because for some of the tests they do it is because I am already high risk and they're checking on other things like APS.

I asked up at front desk about test results, they said I'd get a call. There is also a portal so I keep logging in. I finally called and "pressed 6 for tests results". It was an automatic recording saying they take 7-10 days and dr would call and they would be posted to portal after review. REALLY?! That is frustrating, ESP if I was supposed to have progesterone as well.

Is this normal time frame...7-10 days??! My regular dr, which is part of a huge hospital, usually has results same day and posts then in their online portal, usually no call or message unless it's concerning.

Ahh....just ranting.

no, this is annoying. you do need a 48-72 hour repeat beta hcg if they are monitoring the pregnancy if there is any concern.  7-10 days may be obscure labs, but routine blood work really should be a day or two.

Oooh this would drive me crazy. I'd be calling everyone who would listen to get progesterone drawn. They don't seem to be taking it seriously.

so the nurse that called with results of my HCG and progesterone also said she had results of other labs but would not give me the results until dr reviewed them.

I feel the only reason they called is because I'm on them and asked in their "patient portal" about my progesterone. I updated my regular dr of pregnancy and my levels and he said they're good but asked when they're testing my progesterone again. He is all over it...wish he was an ob/gyn.

I don't get it, post the results and call if issues, I'm sure everything is fine but just tell me my results

WkoutMomtoBe I would be looking for a new clinic/obgyn facility or at least a new care provider. Or at least I would organize a sit down with your provider and let them know about your concerns. This sounds really frustrating.

so I went this morning for my blood draw and asked about results if I could get them from someone while I was there because I was told the nurse had them. She said she did not have access (which I understand, front desk person) but no offer on what to do, just that I would get a call.

I sit down and some lady comes in asking for results and is frustrated because it's been 3 weeks....they gave her no help either.

I'm going to wait until this afternoon or maybe tomorrow and then contact them and also inform them of the lady I saw who did not have results and let them know this is not sitting well with me.

The thing is, I JUST switched to this ob/gyn from my previous one.....

Uffda! I hope they call this afternoon! I have been getting copies of my lab results directly from my lab. I just ask for a print out...and when they will think its ready for me to pick up. So far so good. I am sure there are some results they wouldn't give directly to me but it might be another way to get around the clinic part for now.

Why can't your regular doctor draw progesterone if your OB office is dropping the ball? I'm with those saying switch. It's a royal pain to switch but if they're being hard to work with already, how will they be when you're further along and even less likely to bail?
