  • Man. I think Cletus the fetus is making me allergic to my Fitbit :( I took it off two weeks ago because I had a weird rash that I wanted to clear up.  I put it back on today and had on for 10 hours and the rash is back :( 

    So my Fitbit doesn't give me a rash, BUT, it does feel very uncomfortable to wear most of the time. almost like tingly? Before pregnancy I wore it 24/7, even sleeping. However now I usually only wear it when I workout... Weird.

  • 1. What are your fitness goal this week?

    I want to make a long term fitness plan. So I have something to follow every week and I know I am progressing. I'm thiking MWF=Cardio and some muscle strengthening. like M=Core, W=Upper body, F=Leg/glutes, and then decide on some specific exercise that I know will be safe. Then TTH=yoga/stretching

    2. How did you do meeting your goals last week?

    Last week was decent, I worked out 3 days with cardio and strength training. But I really felt all over the place with my workouts, because I'm at the point now where some workouts I've been doing feel like they are straining my uterus. That worries me. Hence why I stated above I need to make a plan with 'safe' workouts.

    3. Are you gaining enough weight? Do you want to slow your weight gain down? (this is a sensitive topic, I know. Thoughts of how to word this or if we want it included at all?)

    I am gaining enough, I felt like I was gaining too much at first with all the nausea causing me to eat junkfood... almost 10lb in the first trimester. However my Midwife is not concerned because I'm not overweight. I actually weighed myself this morning and I haven't gained anything in the last couple weeks, but this baby is DEFINITLY growing. I think since my nausea has lifted a bit and I'm back to my healthy snacks it's helping my weight gain even now to normal.

  • @ceclarlinetlo the fitbit rash is known issue for a lot of people, not just pregnant ladies!  You should look it up.  I had to stop wearing mine pre-pregnancy for a while (and definitely stopped wearing it at night) because of the rash/irritation.
  • @cjs260 I just read an article in the NY Times (online, and from last month, but it was right on the cover page today). The article focused on both the weight of the mother and father before and during pregnancy (pre-pregnancy for the father) stating that "being heavy" alters DNA in the father's sperm and changes gene expression. Very interesting.
