What is your health/nutrition goal this week? Finding a balance. I've been failing at my health/nutrition goals on the weekly, because I'm trying to, "not have sweets," or "avoid dessert." I need to accept that this just isn't going to happen. So, I'll reward myself with a sweet snack if I have a healthy meal with lean protein and vegetables. I've been slacking on my veggie intake in particular. I get full so quickly, that I'll just have a protein and a carb, and skip a side. But, I need to just have smaller portions.
What is your fitness goal this week? Work out at least three times this week. I've been doing some Mommy Trainer workouts and they're tough. But, a great mix of strength and cardio in each session. The entire program calls for three strength/cardio sessions per week, plus three HIIT trainings, but I haven't been doing the latter.
Any challenges this week? Not other than the usual this week. But, starting next week things will be tough. My DH will be traveling out of the country for 10 days, so I won't have help with DS. Since my mornings will be so hectic with showering and getting him to the sitter and me to work, my workouts will probably have to be in the late evening once he's in bed, when I'm usually exhausted.
How did you do with your goals last week? I worked out three times, which was my goal. I didn't go too overboard with eating, but I did have some definite cheat meals. GTKY: Which actor would play you in the movie about your life? Probably someone who seems "normal" like Kristen Bell. But, if I wanted to really glam my life up, I'd totally choose Blake Lively. Because she's my girl crush.
@F47 I am with you on finding a balance, though mine is more with exercise. My husband was out of town for two days this week (I can't even imagine trying to take care of my son for 10 days by myself - you are a stronger woman than I), and I totally gave up on trying to work out those days. And since I skipped those days, I just skipped the rest of the week, too.
What is your health/nutrition goal this week? Reasonable meals and snacks. Try to average 1/2 lb weight gain per week for the rest of my pregnancy. And eat more mindfully! I have been eating junk food just to eat it lately and it's not satisfying or necessary.
What is your fitness goal this week? 150 minutes of cardio - some combination of running and rowing.
Any challenges this week? It's just getting harder to run with the added weight. I've slowed my pace way down and cut my running down to 30 minutes a session, but it's still hard on my joints.
How did you do with your goals last week? Exercise was terrible. Only did 80 minutes total last week (with a goal of 150 minutes). I ate a lot of junk food, and I think I gained a whole pound. But this week will be better. GTKY: Which actor would play you in the movie about your life? Oooh, I like the idea of Kristen Bell. She's short and blonde like me and I loved her in Veronica Mars. Otherwise, maybe Carrie Mulligan or Michelle Williams (though they're all way better looking than I am).
@ignoscemihi Yeah, I'm probably being overly optimistic thinking I'll get workouts in while my husband is out of town. Especially because my toddler's bedtime has been getting later and later. I'm just worn out by the time he's asleep, so evening workouts don't work well for me in general. Time will tell!
My nutrition troubles start in the afternoon. This morning, for instance, I had 1/2 cup of cottage cheese and two hardboiled eggs. I just had a Nature Valley protein bar as a snack, and I've packed a healthy lunch. But, by 2 p.m. I'll no doubt he eating some empty carbs, and since I've "been good" all day, I'll no doubt "treat" myself once I'm home. It's a pattern I recognize, but not one I have been able to easily change.
What is your health/nutrition goal this week? Eat more protein and drink more water. I've been doing pretty good with not overindulging, but I think that's due to being uncomfortable.
What is your fitness goal this week? Workout 4 times this week. I did the elliptical yesterday for 40 minutes and danced my heart out last night at a concert. So I'm off to a good start!
Any challenges this week? I returned back to work after being off for 2 months because I messed my shoulder up. I have to wake up at 4:30am for work, we don't have air and it's going to be a hot week. So I'm sure I'll be exhausted.
How did you do with your goals last week? Good for the most part! GTKY: Which actor would play you in the movie about your life? Maybe Emma Stone. But only because I love her.
@mrskratt What kind of work do you do? No air conditioning sounds miserable... especially assuming it's physical work.
I work at a General Motors stamping plant So, lots of labor work and lots of standing and walking on concrete. The worst part is that we have to wear pants, long sleeves and gloves. It's definitely not a place for a pregnant woman to be with a summer like this.
