Because I was looking at "before" photos in an attempt to try and curb my raging appetite today... This is a throw back to last spring when I was 112 pounds heavier than the day I got my BFP (which was the day after the second photo was taken). Props to my best friend in the whole wide world for still letting me be her matron of honor, even though I was straight hippo status at the time!
ETA: It was bright outside in both of these pictures. I promise I have eyes lol.
My friends and I were being silly one mimosa-filled Sunday brunch and started calling ourselves "The Brunchionistas". The objective was to reach as many women who wanted to come out to brunch one Sunday a month. We all took turns choosing which restaurant... Made so many new friends because of that, women who had moved to the area and had no new friends...etc. It was so awesome.
Anyway, we put together an outreach project at one of the women's shelters in San Diego. It was just gonna be "brunch", but then it turned into a full on "brunch and spa day". We had hair stylists come and volunteer their time and give free haircuts, and we did nails for the ladies, we served breakfast, we had a facialist doing facials, we did makeovers.... it was amazing. Touched so many lives that day, and cried so many happy tears.
@CopperBoom86 I think you're beautiful in both pictures! But, congratulations on the amazing hard work you put in to drop the weight and get healthier for you and your little one. I can't believe you did that in a year! That is no small task, and you should feel wonderfully empowered for conquering it. I know you're nervous about packing some back on while being pregnant, but according to your HDBD photos, you're doing a great job of maintaining! You look great!
This is one of my favorite photos of husband and me from St. Patrick's Day a few years ago. I've definitely packed on too many pounds since then, I'm looking forward to getting back to a healthy lifestyle after the Bean comes.
I'm having such a hard time choosing today... Here's me with little guy on my back and a buncha toddlers during walk time about 2 years ago. I know it's just my back but this is one of my favorite pictures

One of my fav TBT pics. My mom and I went to the same high school and these are our senior photos. I'm pretty much her mini-me haha. She died 8 years ago after a long fight with breast cancer and I've missed her even more than I thought would be possible during this pregnancy.
@LMNOBaby - You're sweet. And yes, I'm super nervous about putting on weight. It doesn't help that my OB has been breathing down my neck about it at every appointment. I just want to say "leave me alone about it! I'm well aware of the changes in my body and I'll lose it again later!" Buuuuuttttt she's the medical professional, I'm the dumb patient, yada yada yada... Anyway, thank you for your sweet comments
@annabenanna such a great story. I'm sure that you put smiles on so many faces that day!
I recently lost lost my grandma so my TBT is in honor of her. When I was younger, I tagged along with her and her old lady gang (her mom and two sisters) almost everywhere they went This was just a random Sunday. Breaks my heart that my little man won't get to meet her but happy to have many memories to share with him. She was able to buy him a little teething blanket before her condition deteriorated and now it's one of my favorite baby items that I hope he is attached to
@CopperBoom86 I'm sorry your OB is breathing down your neck! You did such an amazing job and clearly are in touch with your health and fitness, tell him to lay off lol
@CopperBoom86 after little one is born, that is my goal so I find it very inspiring that someone real (as real as an Internet stranger is) has done it!! Any tips you want to share (even if it's a pm or another thread)?
My tbt isn't me, it's my dh when he was little but it's my favorite picture. My dd looks so much like him, except her face is rounder because of my influence. I wonder all the time what the new baby will look like...
TBT to when we went to Jamaica on our anniversary. I was so nervous to wakeboard after not doing it for so long, but I got up! It's one of my favorite memories from that vacation because DH was enamored with wake boarding after that. Sorry it's dark, it's a scanned in picture
I'll do a grandma-inspired TBT today, too. We lost my "Momaw" on December 5 last year. I can't explain in words how important a role she played in my life, and the lives of my siblings and parents. We were incredibly close. And, she was the youngest "elderly" person you've ever seen. In fact, up until October of last year, she would watch DS every Friday and my nephew every Monday and Friday. She was a superwoman. She was funny, sassy, loved talking about sex (she once offered me her old lingerie ), loved shopping and the phrase, "If you've got it, spend it!" But, also, she was just so loving. When I was 11, my parents built a house next door to my grandma and grandpa, so we literally saw her every day.
All of our hearts were broken when doctors discovered a very aggressive brain tumor in late October. She chose, very bravely, to undergo surgery to remove it and buy herself some time. That surgery was Nov. 2 and she passed a month later. She never really came out of that surgery either, so it wasn't even quality time. It all happened so quickly and it's all still so fresh. I actually cried on the way to work this morning because I miss her so much. I know healing takes time, but I'm not sure I'll ever get beyond this feeling when I think of her.

Mine is only about 5.5 years old. This was taken on our honeymoon cruise in December 2010, 4 days after we got married. Seems like so long ago, especially when you you consider we haven't had a vacation since then.
@maf9866 - My weight loss tips are pretty basic, but I'll be glad to share! Here's what worked for me:
-I joined a gym. It was expensive and I wasn't going to let that money go to waste! I started taking fitness classes at the gym and made friends that would hound me for not showing up to class. Both of those things provided with with much needed accountability. -I joined MyFitnessPal. It's free! And it teaches you the value of actually weighing and measuring your food properly. If you enjoy forums (I assume you do, because you're here) theirs is a great resource. They tell it like it is, so don't be too sensitive if you go there. -I bought a Fitbit. I spend 9ish hours a day at a desk, so my Fitbit was absolutely instrumental in getting me up and moving throughout the day, which is extremely important for overall health. -I accepted the fact that I wasn't a speshul snoflake. Weight loss is simple: Burn more calories than you consume. I spent years trying to lose weight by "eating healthier" and exercising. The problem was that some food that's generally considered "healthy" is not actually low in calories. When I finally turned to MyFitnessPal, I logged one of those "healthy" meals I was eating quite often and it was over 1,000 calories! Sheesh! No wonder I wasn't losing weight! -Finally and perhaps most importantly, don't freaking give up. I hit three weight loss plateaus in the process and I wanted to give up all three times. But each time, I found a way to push through.
Good luck and don't put too much pressure on yourself. Just make one good choice after another and it'll eventually add up.
You guys all have such great photos and stories! All my photos over 1 year old are either on Facebook or an external hard drive that I'm too lazy to go get, so I have slim pickins' over here. I have politics on the brain, but I'm trying to avoid working myself up, so here's my non-partisan contribution. This is from election day 2008 in our tiny NY apartment. The polling places didn't have stickers, so I had to make my own. Yep, I'm a nerd.
I've been missing playing roller derby A LOT lately, so this is a throwback to when I was skating. This is the pic DH saw of me and asked his roommate (she was on my team) who that "sexy little vixen" was and started the ball rolling. To this day it is the wallpaper on his phone. Whenever his female clients get a little too flirty (tattoo artist, and DH is just an outgoing big teddy bear) he pulls out his phone and shows them and fawns over me to them. I'm glad he still sees me as that "sexy little vixen". I can't wait to get back into shape and get back to skating after baby!
This is a mini throwback to DH and my engagement photos/day we secretly got married in Oct 2013.
DH's insurance was being paid for out of pocket by his parents (he was
subcontracting for his dad's business) and his parents said they
couldn't help pay for any part of the wedding because of that expense.
So we got secretly married so he could be on my insurance through my job
and his parents could help with our awesome wedding.
(edited to add the dates cause otherwise it's not helpful lol)
This was my first time ever holding a baby - roughly 7 years ago! He was the first baby among friends, and I was so nervous cause he was only hours old. I held my arms up so high that they started to shake but I didn't want to give up holding him - but eventually one of the grandparents took him from me.
In honor of my fur nephew's annual weeklong stay while my sister is on vacation, here's a picture of Sammy from the first time I met him in 2014. And for fun, because he's cute....here's one from this week.
Accidentally quoted, and it wouldn't let me delete. Nevermind the random gray box! Anyway, in honor of LO's first birthday today, here he is on his first day outside of the womb ♡
