So biggest pet peeve right now is my MIL undermining how I'm being a mother. She watched ds tonight and I gave her the low down on what to do for bedtime. Bath, lotion, dress, swaddle, feed, sleep. She did feed, bath, lotion, dress, play, fwe'd again, swaddle, sleep, but then she put a blanket on him! He's only 2 months old. He's not supposed to sleep with a blanket. Ugh why does she do this! I know I'm really picky but I'm a structured person and I feel the way we have done stuff is working. Depending on the night ds will sleep 6-8 hours. And I know I'm one of the lucky few out there that got that.
Re: Latest MIL issues
Geez look how dangerous lol...i relieved pop pop of grandparents duties but I had to take the pic
The one she won't listen to is instructions on milk. I exclusively pump and store extra in the fridge for the day, moving all leftovers to the freezer before I go to sleep. I'm trying to freeze as much as I can for daycare. LO typically needs an extra 2-4 oz pumped from earlier in the day to top him off for the night, and only needs the bottle to be left out for 30 min to be warm enough for him to drink (thus making it easy to return any surplus to the fridge and freezer).
Well, MIL has decided I'm wrong and keeps mixing the bottles into one 8 oz bottle half an hour before his bedtime, then heats it up so much that it's questionable whether it won't go bad.
Her response when there are 6-7 oz left in the bottle when he falls asleep is that he was eating so fast, that she was sure he'd have it all. My response: if he finishes the first bottle you take from the fridge, you can just take another out at that time. Why risk that much going bad? Ugh!
