It Works Greens?

Anyone on here an It Works fan? I have taken their greens for several months and am not thinking there is any risk in continuing, but I put them on hold for now. The healthy benefits are so great, especially because they have also aided me with my ulcerative colitis, but I don't want to continue if there is any risk. I don't see my OB for several more weeks, so I'm just curious, if anyone has asked about these?

  • I would. But you can probably save money and just buy spirulina and wheatgrass from the health food store. I do that and chlorella and stick it in my morning smoothies.

My sister is a distributor. Her and my mom swear by the energy it gives them. I didn't use them because I was nursing and one of the women said it turned her friend's breastmilk green and it freaked me out. I didn't read through the article that was posted, but I do think it said to check with a doctor if pregnant or nursing on the it works website.

I had been drinking Amazing Grass wheatgrass before we started trying. I looked it up though, and while there isn't a lot of information available (probably just because there hasn't been enough research yet). However, what I did see was that you might want to avoid anything that is supposed to have a detoxing effect (including other things like kombucha), lest your body see the developing baby as something it wants to detox. What I read about kombucha specifically was that it's probably okay if you've been drinking it and your body is used to it but it's not a great thing to start up in pregnancy.

All of that is a really long-winded way of saying, that I probably wouldn't risk it for something like that. I would look into other, totally researched and accepted things that should be able to help with your colitis. And, even though you don't see the doctor for a few more weeks, you could always pass along a question early if your colitis flares when you quit it.

I stopped it a week ago after chatting with my friend who is a new distributor. Simply bc we weren't sure and she wasn't finding much clear cut info. This is why I was curious if anyone else had any info/experience! I'm sad seeing them sit on the counter! Was looking forward to the immune help with students this year! Oh well, guess I'll put my autoship on hold for after baby. Thanks for the input ladies!

They have just changed the formula of the greens and they have introduced a new product: probiotic! The old greens had probiotic and the new greens do not. I used to take the greens and they helped keep me regular and combat an ulcer. My OB/Gyn ok'd them for me in my first pregnancy (angel baby 4/20/16) but they made me sick to my stomach so I DC. I have ordered the new probiotic as that is what will help most to keep me regular/boost immunity and I will have my OB/Gyn confirm its safe.. As an aside, if you don't want to shut off your autoshipment maybe try the stretch mark cream or the exfoliating peel!

That's what I did for now! Hubby wanted to try some of the weight loss elements as well, so I just changed things out. I'll take the list with me in a few weeks regardless and see what they say! And second that regularity!! Definitely helps!!!
