Anyone still pregnant and nursing?

I am still holding on at 35 weeks nursing my 19 month old, but barely.  I really want the 19 month old to help me with creating a good supply since I can't really store my milk due to the lipase issue.  It would be nice not to pump as much if I could just tandem.  How's it going for any others that are nursing pregnant?  I am pretty miserable, but we are in the home stretch.

Re: Anyone still pregnant and nursing?

  • I literally quit last week.  I made it 2 years and 16 days. My nipples couldn't take another day. It had hurt for months, and the nips were purple.  After a rough session I got a blood blister on my right side so I thought I'd give myself time to rest them before they get abused again.  She still reaches down my shirt and makes sure they're there, and asks for boob at night.  I let her hold one while she falls asleep. Probably sounds weird to moms who don't nurse, but its a comfort thing.

I'm planning to give her pumped milk about once per day if she'll take it.

  • Still nursing at 27 months. For a long time it was only nap and bedtime but for the last few months it's been only at bedtime.  I also started transitioning to nursing for a few minutes then giving her milk.   Now we nurse for a few minutes, she gets a couple sips of milk, then cuddles until she is asleep.  Nursing since I've been pregnant has been excruciating and I'm glad we are down to a couple minutes.  She still asks here and there but I tell her they are owie and offer her milk.
  • Way to go, mamas! What a gift you have given/ are giving to your older babies!

  • Yes, WTG, ladies! Right now, the plan is to have our children pretty close, so I hope I am able to nurse while pregnant with baby 2.
