Who else is going nutty waiting for their first appointment!?  

I know there are many of us, but I feel like the only one as I see person after person posting about visits!

How are the rest of you holding up? How far along will you be at your first appointment?

As I said-im going nutty!! I don't have confirmation blood work till ten weeks, then they schedule ultrasound from there. I'm so jealous of all the 6week ultrasounds I'm seeing! I wanna know everything is going okay in there!

I still have a week until my first appt, seems like forever! and I'm so anxious to tell people but I don't want to until I hear the heartbeat at the appt.

I hear ya, girls.  I have my 8 week appointment on Tuesday and it feels SO FAR AWAY.  I found out right after the 3 week mark, so its been a nearly 5 week waiting game.

I don't have my first appointment until 8/15 which will be 8+3 and I'm so jealous of everyone who already has ultrasounds and had gotten to hear heartbeats!

I don't have an appointment for bloodwork until sept 12th  I broke down and scheduled an out of pocket of scan for August 5th since it was only €95. So at least the scan can hold me over till I meet the midwives.

I am waiting for my husband to get in and get his physical completed so we can get our insurance upped to the better level of benefits before I make my own appointment. Everything costs more at the current level so I don't want to go there. Plus, we moved 6 months ago to a new area and I don't have an OB or any recommendations. Soooo, the moral of the story is that I have no appointment yet and I don't even know when I will! When I was pregnant with the first 2, I had an appointment within 24 hours of my BFP, this time around I wasn't in any hurry at all. But now that I am reaching 8 weeks and still nothing on the calendar, I am finally starting to get a little anxious about it!  I might have to stop waiting on my husband and at least make a first appointment.

I don't have my first appointment until 8/16 which is the ten week mark! It is killing me to know I still have a month before I get to know anything.

I had really wanted to tell my family in person but this is the only week I will see them. Being 6+2 it makes me nervous to say anything with so long to wait for a heartbeat or US.

I have 8 more days of waiting! As it is, I hope it's not too early. My OB office doesn't usually schedule the first checkup until at least 8 weeks, but I pushed for 7 weeks, since my doctor said he'd see me earlier due to my MMC last pregnancy. Even so... I'm starting to have doubts and wondering if I should have gone with the standard wait time...? I hope they can see things a week earlier than usual.

My first appt is Aug 2nd, at 7 weeks. Its only fit a blood test, though, will be billed as gyno. Likely I'll get an ultrasound a couple of weeks later at 9 or 10 weeks at my first REAL prenatal appt!

I'm right there with you going crazy. My appointment is 8/9. With DS, I didn't get an u/s until the a/s at 20w. I've since switched OBs and my new one does a dating scan. I'm still very anxious. I'm having huge amounts of *tmi alert* discharge and it's basically causing to run to the bathroom every 10 minutes to make sure that's all it is. It's almost identical to that leaking/flowing feeling I get with AF. The early pregnancy mind games are no bueno.

@hippiemama That's the downside of being able to find out so early on nowadays that we're pregnant! The wait for the first OB appointment takes ages. 

ETA - @chrlyr - I had the same panic-inducing sensation of discharge during the first couple weeks of pregnancy too. I still am getting discharge, but I'm not as alarmed. I think also knowing that I'm basically out of the risk of a CP helps too. FX the early pregnancy mind games end for you soon!

I will be 9+5 at my appt on 8/1. He wanted to do an 8 wk appt but I pushed it back a bit because of late ovulation. I CAN'T WAIT!

Yesssss!!! My OB doesn't do a confirmation until 8 weeks and it feels so far away because I found out so early. My appt. is August 22 for confirmation (I'll be 8w5d) and they scheduled a visit 2 weeks later on 9/6 for full intake/ultrasound. Seems SO FAR AWAY!

I had the 6week ultrasound last time with DD and still waited to tell everyone till 14weeks because I was so nervous!  This time around I  said I'm ready to spill the beans as soon as I have an ultrasound to check that all is good, so it's fitting I have to wait forever!  They won't schedule it till my bloodwork, and I'm gone for a week on vacation four days after bloodwork, so there is a chance I may not have an ultrasound till 12 weeks anyway if they don't squeeze me in.  Ugh!

I don't have my first appointment until 8/4, at which point I will be 10w1d pregnant. And that's just the nurse appointment! I have my first doctor appointment at 12 weeks. I'm not sure which one will have the ultrasound.

I have an appointment tomorrow at 7 weeks.  It feels like forever since I found out, so I'm excited to get some confirmation that everything is ok.

oh my gosh I'm dying over the wait over here too!!!!  I will have my first appointment in two weeks exactly on 8/4, and it seems like FOREVER away!  I am so excited to check on things in there and get some confirmation that all is well!  First appointment is with a nurse for u/s and intake and following with with OB.

@GG620 I found out at 3w2d and while it was exciting to find out so early, it just makes the wait that much longer. I kind of wish I hadn't tested so early now!

I haven't even bothered to go to my PCP for the pregnancy test, to then get the OB referral, to then make the first appointment. I know from experience that it's probably going to be a long wait anyway, and that there probably won't be any ultrasounds until the end of the first tri anyway.
I'm actually paying to go to an elective place at 8 weeks on the dot to (hopefully) see a heartbeat, because I'm an anxious basketcase like that so it's worth the $$ to me! I did the same with my last pregnancy. Plus, then we will go ahead and share our news openly.

I have a "nurse's appt" on Monday, which is just a medical history and then a group session for "what to expect at your prenatal appts".

I don't see the midwife until 10w+3 on 8/31! That's so far away!

I'm changing OBs, or possibly to a midwife because we moved, and haven't picked one out yet. I can't wait to make my first appt even though I know it will still be a few weeks away! I don't remember being this anxious about getting to my first appointment with my DS.

Mine is next week - 7/27. I found out on 7/5, so I've been DYING of impatience. Thank goodness I was on vaca/now am on a work trip, so at least I've had some distractions.

I am so glad I found this thread! We are expecting our first and I am so anxious! My first appointment isn't until August 24th and at that point I will be 9 weeks +3 days along! Since it's my first I don't really know what to expect and we have been chomping at the bit to tell our family and friends! We want to wait until at least the first appointment if not 12 weeks before we share. I just want to know everything is going well!

After 3 long weeks since my BFP I finally have an appointment with my OB tomorrow. I must say, I think it's absolutely crazy that they make you wait this long. This is my first pregnancy and I was shocked when I called my doc's office and they told they wouldn't see me until 7 weeks, I just assumed they would see me right away. Now I'm coming to learn that 7 weeks is actually sooner then most women are seen. I get that there's not much to be done this early but there has to be a better way, this has been torture!

I don't get to have an appointment until I'm 9 weeks....so just over 2 weeks to go. It's torture. Last pregnancy I got to go in at 8w1d.

I have 8 week appt on 8/3.  These last 2 weeks will be torture waiting for appt.  We have told our family and a couple friends so that helps.  We will not be telling anyone else until a couple months down the road.

I have my first appointment next Thursday! I'll be 8w+4d. I am soo excited, but excited for my husband, too, since this is our first and it will finally confirm why I have been a totally different person the last few weeks!

Me too!! I have been going crazy. My boyfriend thinks I'm crazy bc I keep taking pregnancy tests.  I told him I'm sorry but until I see/hear that heart beat I'm gonna keep taking them. I am 7wks and still have another 2wks until my appointment. Its cruel and unusual punishment to make us wait like this. And the weeks go by
so slowly.

I should be about 11 weeks at my first apt, it's August 22nd! So far away... And from there I don't think they schedule an ultrasound for a while, they will just check with a Doppler. I'm nervous!

I haven't called yet, but if it is like my last baby who I used the same office then I won't get to see the midwife until 9 weeks which would be around August 19th or the following week.  It does feel like forever.

Join the POAS club. I'm still doing it daily (maybe multiple times per day). I promised myself (and DH) that I would stop when I got a 3+ on the CBWE, which I got today. Not sure if I'm going to be able to keep that promise....

My appt's finally coming up next Tuesday and I so can't wait. I've been anxious to know that everything's ok. Last time they made me wait until I was 10 weeks, but this time they'll see me at 8 weeks. All I want is to hear a heartbeat! I POAS last week and the HCG was so high that it pulled almost off the color from the control line to the test line so that made me feel better. It's so awful that they make us wait but I also understand it too.

Today marks 4 weeks for me. I'm starting to wish I didn't find out so early. Still doesn't feel real. Haven't even called anywhere yet for an appt...but it's fun living vicariously through everyone else

Me! Me! Mine isn't until Aug 9th and I'm going insane. Of course, it doesn't help that DH REFUSES to believe we're actually pregnant until he sees something official from the doctor. ***insert eye roll here***

Yes - definitely feel you there... my appointment is August 9th.  I get a dating US because my AF is so irregular and we are going for a homebirth if Mommy and baby are healthy.  I can't wait for my husband to see baby on the screen!   hugs to you all ladies

My first appointment isn't until 8 weeks, Aug. 5th. I know 6 positive pregnsncy tests aren't wrong, but it still doesn't feel "real" until I see the little bean on the ultrasound and hear the heartbeat.

I will be more than 8weeks by the time I have my first appointment because I'm still on vacation in Canada and won't be back in my country of current residence where I am covered by health insurance until then.  Gaaah!

ETA: 6 weeks today and I've known for almost two weeks.

I was able to get my first appt moved from 8/12 to 8/3, thankfully. I'll be 8w2d at that point. I still have a little under 2 weeks to go and it's definitely driving me nuts. I just feel like I have the worst PMS ever. The bloating is the worst. This is me the last few weeks...

Is it Aug 3rd yet?? Uuugghhh finding out so early is a blessinh and a curse. Dr wanted to see me next week at 6 weeks but DH is out of town for work so I rescheduled it....There's a tiny part of me that still just wants to go next week lol...oh well at least it'll be worth the wait and I can also stop POAS!
