Monday Ticker Change

Ok, I'm shaking it up because I don't think there are many of us left...

How many weeks?

What kind of appointments/induction do you have scheduled this week?

How are you doing? What do you do to stay positive/sane?

GTKY: Are you a "baby" person, or do you prefer older children? What stage are you most worried about with you LO(neborn, toddler, teenager, etc.)?

Re: Monday Ticker Change

  • 40 weeks

I have an appointment tomorrow. I'm praying that my cervix has moved up enough that she can do a membrane sweep. My son was born 2 days early on the same day they swept my membranes. It worked like a charm. The last two weeks they have talked about my cervix being effaced and maybe even dialated, but so posterior they couldn't reach it very well. If she says it's still posterior and cant reach it, I will probably cry.

I'm not doing that great, and I'm not that positive! Lol! Everyone said how second babies come faster this whole pregnancy, so I really did not mentally prepare for going past the time I was pregnant with my son. Also, I have so many pre-labor symptoms I cannot believe I haven't went into labor yet.

I'm really ok with every stage. I try to appreciate each one. I teach Middle School, which is an age that many typically hate, but I even like them! They are hormonal little emotional balls of mess, and can be incredibly entertaining.

40 - we've made it to the finish line! Baby can feel free to join us at any time now :)

Regular appointment on Friday morning. They won't start talking inductions until 41 weeks so hopefully we can have a plan in place on Friday for next week if this little one decides to stay put.

Honestly, I'm pissed. I am WAY too much of a planner for pregnancy. I know the due date could be a little off but it's frustrating. Plus I'm still at work with all of the stupid comments about what I'm still doing at work and how am I feeling? The worst part is the longer we wait the more anxious I seem to get not only about labor/delivery and those details but about whether I'll be a good mom and if I'm actually ready for this after all. I wish I could say that I'm staying positive but I've cried more in the past few days than most of this pregnancy. I just want to be home by myself with a book or a Disney movie...I feel like those are my 2 options for sanity.

I like kids at all stages but my favorite has to be age 3-4. So much imagination, excitement & discovery! They're old enough to tell you what they are thinking and the things that come out of their mouths are just incredible sometimes! I'm trying not to think of LO as a teenager yet since I haven't met them yet haha.
  • @hannahmp- I have such respect for middle school teachers!  I subbed my first year out of college and middle school was the hardest age for me. My favorite age to teach is Kindergarten. I taught one year of second grade and those girls already had too much girl drama!  I don't know yet what my favorite age to parent is.

@HoneyBear40- I completely relate to wanting to watch Disney or read books. DD (2 1/2) was sick last week. I wish she hadn't been sick but I totally loved just snuggling on the couch watching Frozen.
