TGIF check-in! July 15

What is going on this weekend ladies? Tell me of all your fun summer adventures! I know this has been a hard week for many, so I hope you can all be good to yourselves this weekend.

Re: TGIF check-in! July 15

  • We have a wedding today (3/6 this year) so half day of work and a long overdue haircut!!! Tomorrow DH is working and I am going to pack up (moving in 1.5 weeks) more random things and maybe do some laundry. Sunday we have family pictures and a Lularoe party...I plan on spending a sick amount of money. It's my treat to myself. Their leggings are seriously the best.

It's DH's birthday today so I took the day off!! I think we are going to a Cubs game if I can find tickets that aren't ridiculously expensive! The dog will try out doggie day care while we are out and about and then we will go to dinner tonight! I really hope he does well. DH works from home and it's been tough on him to have to care for him and work so it would be nice to give him a break once and awhile and let the puppy play.

My cousin is in town for a half marathon, so I probably will try to meet up with her and get some stuff around the house done. We are gone the next 2 weekends so I feel like I need to get organized this week.

ETA I'm starting the day with an ultrasound and bloodwork to see about why AF hasn't reared her head yet. I'm not kidding you, 3 pregnant women behind the desk at the REs office right now. One who looks to be due around the same time I was. You've got to be kidding me. I can only imagine how many women are brought to tears by this every day.

  • @crazypt2285 sounds like a busy weekend, enjoy the wedding and shopping!
@chloe97 I hope you and dh have a great day celebrating his birthday. I'm sorry about the pregnant ladies in the dr office, that's a sucky situation for sure.

Happy Friday! I'm oddly cheery considering it's CD1 but I had a totally shitastic week so I'm happy to put the week and the cycle behind me. I have plans with my parents, brother and sil tomorrow for lunch/dinner and otherwise just relaxing. I hope you all have a great weekend.

  • Happy Friday!! I've been working late this week and so has DH so this weekend, we really need to catch up on the house laundry, and a ton of household stuff. Not the most exciting but glad we don't have major plans.

@chloe97 happy birthday to your DH! Hope you guys have fun and good luck at your ultrasound. I can relate to your story about the pregnant women behind the desk. I'm pretty sure my RE nurse is pregnant too and my acupuncturist is pregnant- it's like what water are you guys drinking and give me some! Ughhh- this process! I hope all goes well today.

@crazypt2285 I've been hearing a lot about lularoe leggings I need to check them out. Have fun at the wedding.

We have a busy weekend. I'm about to see my RE, then bringing my very preggo friend lunch...she's due 5 days before my second EDD so it's like living my pregnancy through her. She's had a loss and understands, which makes being around her easy. We have a rehearsal dinner tonight, wedding tomorrow, brunch Sunday on a lake for a friends birthday. I'm thankful we're slammed with things so the BFN isn't my primary focus.

Ugh that's so hard @chloe97 -- there's only one pregnant woman at my RE...thank god. I'm there so often I don't think I could handle seeing a heard of them.

TGIF, amirite?! I actually don't have any real plans for the weekend (which is totally ok with me!). Same as many of you, this week was tough for me - for a variety of reasons. But, I have my protocol for our first IUI and I start  clomid tomorrow and have injections Tuesday and Wednesday, Ultrasound Thursday and then we get our schedule for the next steps. So, I am really just trying to focus on being good to my body.

Went to see The Secret Life of Pets last night with DH and it was adorable! Laughed a lot and really enjoyed it.

ETA: Hope all of you enjoy a wonderful weekend! Keeping you in my thoughts, @SnobunnieMel - I know you're not looking forward to your trip, but hope it's manageable.

  • @chloe97 I hope you find some tickets! That really sucks about the RE's office. You know they (probably) didn't plan it that way, but it's still like, "are you freaking kidding me?"
@brooklyngirl18 Sorry about the BFN (from another thread). Hope next week is better for you.
@Aera11 have fun at the wedding!
@fivetimesnoluck I really want to see that! We're not movie-goers but maybe there's a late show without too many kids (I saw Finding Nemo after work at like a 10pm viewing, that worked).

Happy Friday ladies! No major plans here, my mom is coming next week so need to do some deep cleaning (she wouldn't notice, but I would), long run Sat morning with friends and hit our favorite bar Sunday afternoon since I'm not on call and still benched (for my ever-sophisticated pinot grigio and tater tots )

  • Thanks guys! Cd 61 u/s went well. I have a collapsing follicle. Any idea what that means? That I ovulated or that I had a cyst that collapsed? Wasn't super impressed with the nursing staff- she was a bit condescending. When I asked if my "not too thick lining" meant scarring, she said "I didn't say too thin". But no more explanation than that.

We got Cubs tix but now it looks like it may rain. Sigh. Hopefully no rain delays!

    @amberruka and @roxgibbons enjoy your low-key weekends!!

@crazypt2285 I've never heard of lularoe- is it like a Stella and Dot type company?

@fivetimesnoluck Good luck starting Clomid. Let us know how things are going!

@aera11 Glad you're staying busy! Enjoy your wedding!

@brooklyngirl18 Enjoy time with your family!
  • @chloe97 yes very similar. They only do pop up shops and online facebook sales. I love it and highly suggest everyone snags a pair
  • I forgot to post my own plans, of course. My brain is fried.

I just ran home on my lunch break to put a stamp on some paperwork I needed to send and grab a snack. The joys of living 10 minutes from your office.

We plan to have a low key weekend. Tomorrow we need to wait for our windshield to get fixed on our car, so we will be at the mercy of the company who comes to do it. Other than that, probably just beaches and being outside /staying cool. No big plans, which is perfectly fine with me.

    Have fun everyone!
  • I've heard those leggings are the bomb! I imagine the shipping to Canada might be atrocious tho, but might look into it lol

Funny how you can kind of know it's not gonna happen this cycle and still be pretty upset by a BFN. Not officially out yet but trying to manage my expectations so AF doesn't hit me too hard. I know it was wishful thinking to get KU right away and I have no place to complain, but when AF has made me sad for years, regardless, I can tell this is gonna be a very difficult process. Still glad to be moving forward but these last few days of a cycle are always tough and the added hormones don't help!

I think DH listened when I said we need to make sure we're still having fun even if everything with the house isn't done because we're planning a hike for tomorrow. It's long but mostly flat and circles a big lake so it should be really nice :) That and we're getting sushi tonight mmmm! I will not be giving that up until I have to, that's for sure lol
  • @crazypt2285 Someone I know just became a lularoe consultant and I think I seriously need to check it out. All of their stuff looks so comfortable!

@chloe97 I hope you are able to enjoy DHs birthday and that the dog enjoys daycare! We've been thinking about trying daycare for our pup as well because he has so much energy.

    @Aera11 Enjoy the wedding!

@fivetimesnoluck I really want to see that movie but no one will go with me! I'm definitely going to watch it when it comes out.

@amberruka Tator tots and Pinot Grigio sound fantastic. Enjoy!

@rainbowturtles Enjoy the hike and sushi! DH and I got sushi two nights ago and I already want to go again.

I have a lot of plans for the weekend that I'm excited about. Tonight when DH gets home from work we're going to make dinner and then go Pokemon hunting!

Tomorrow my DH has a graduation party that he's going to with some friends. I declined so I could go to the beach with my best friend and her fiancé. I'm so excited because my friend and I didn't make it to the beach together at all last year, and she's my favorite person to go with because she likes to go sit out in the water and jump the waves with me!

On Sunday I have plans to get a facial with the same friends. It was actually my best friends fiancés idea because he's been breaking out recently and wanted to try it out.

  • @AliciaGoose we tend to get sushi every two weeks on DH's pay day :) I love it soooooo much even though I can only get select rolls because many have gluten in them (did you know that most imitation crab meat contains wheat?! Sneaky stuff!), but we always get an order of wild salmon sashimi, too, which is AWESOME! Plus, the place we go to often throws in an extra cone or roll on the house. Can't beat that!

@chloe97 I had a collapsed follicle while waiting for AF post D&C. I went in for an U/S as I had terrible pain on my right side. My RE thought I had just ovulated based on the US image but after some bloodwork it looked like that wasn't the case and in fact I started AF a few days later.

ETA: after I started AF my RE said that most likely collapsed follicle could have been a cyst that had burst which explained the intense pain I was in.

  • Thank you @roxgibbons that helps a lot! I was having mild-ish pain that felt like it could be a cyst until yesterday, so that would make sense why it was showing up today as a collapsed follicle.
  • @roxgibbons your comment made me remember this meme! Haha
  • @chloe97 happy birthday DH! Hope you guys have a great time! I'm feeling you on the doctors office. After we found out about the triploidy and I still had my checkups I hated being in the room with the other healthy pregnancies. I also had to go to labor and delivery for my D&C and see others waiting to bring their healthy babies into the world. It was the worst feeling I've ever felt in my whole entire life. Sorry to hear about your lack luster nurse. That's awful.

@rainbowturtles @AliciaGoose oh man! Now I really want to go eat at our favorite Asian fusion place down the road

@fivetimesnoluck I saw that movie on Monday! So cute! More adults than kids in the theater haha

I've been having a rough few days emotionally. I've cried at work randomly since Wednesday. I feel like I'm realizing that my shower should've been next month and October is nearing and i don't have my baby. Thursday morning when I took my test and got the unmistakable bfn I had just woken up from a dream that I had gotten a bfp. How cruel is that?! Still no period though. I know I ovulated late since I used the clear blue ovulation tests so maybe it'll come here soon.

Were supposed to go to a surprise birthday party tomorrow but I think I'll let DH go stag. There's another girl going who's pregnant and is due around the same time I would've been. With how emotional I've been I don't need that reminder in my face. My bff seems a little miffed at me for not wanting to go, but I'm gunna need her to let this one go. I offered dinner and Netflix instead. so we'll see! I have to clean the house really well this weekend so the realtor can come over and we can talk about the reality of selling our townhome hopefully!
  • I hope you all have a great weekend!

I am wrapping up my week off from work. I'm not ready to go back. It has been nice to not set an alarm and relax. Tomorrow my sil and niece are going to come over and we are going to do a fire pit and make smores. Hopefully it will be an uneventful evening. My sil tends to make rude comments but does it in such a way that you are not sure if you miss heard her or are just being to sensitive. After my dh and I had been dating a while she basically called me slut bc we were living together and not married. So I always feel like I have to be in Guard. And then on Sunday I have to go into work and write a report.
  • @cmmiller531Im so sorry that you are having a bad week and for the BFN. My emotional state is slowly going down hill too. I had to pull myself together for DHs birthday. I took a shower between the baseball game and dinner and had a good cry where he couldn't see me. When I had my lastD&C, I also got wheeled into to Labor and D Delivery. I give so much credit to the nurses who intercepted me at the door so I wouldn't run into laboring moms.

@Hopefulmommy1980 I'm so jealous of your week off. I'm in much need of one.
