Re: Weekly Appointments 7/10 - 7/16
How did your appointment go overall? It went really well! Baby looks great and we start seeing the doc every 2 weeks now. My GD test is at my next appointment.
Any ultrasound or doppler? Yep, Baby girl was sucking her thumb.
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Yes, most of my questions had to do with pelvic rest. I'm sick of it already and I still have 6 more weeks until my MFM appointment to see if my placenta has changed location.
For Fun: What was your favorite childhood toy/activity? It's hard to pick just one thing, but I guess I would say Barbie dolls.
How did your appointment go overall?
Appointment was fine for the most part. I failed the one hour glucose test so I go back next Friday for the 3 hour. Ugh. But in good news, the drink wasn't as bad as I expected and my iron levels were perfect so no anemia. I am not even that mad that I failed the one hour, just annoyed that I have to go back and miss half a day of work when I'm feeling like I probably have GD anyway bc my sugar started out higher.
Any ultrasound or doppler?
Just Doppler.

American Girl dolls were my favorite!

How did your appointment go overall? Overall good apt, did my glucose test
Any ultrasound or doppler? Doppler, next time at 28 weeks Ill have another sono to check position of placenta
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? yes
For Fun: What was your favorite childhood toy/activity?
How did your appointment go overall? Glucose tolerance test, RhoGAM shot, Prenatal labs (again), Thyroid levels check. Lots of needles this appointment - passed the glucose, and (yea!) normal range with thyroid medication, but found out I'm currently slightly anemic so I get to begin and iron supplement and a few things to hopefully bring that back to normal.
Any ultrasound or doppler? Doppler, little guy's heart rate has been around the 130s lately.
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Mainly answered questions on Sciatic pain and what I can do to lessen that, Dr. recommended prenatal yoga to get the baby to move around... The pain mainly happens at work so I joked with a few of my coworkers saying "don't mind me if you walk back and I'm doing yoga poses in my office", I think I'd save the yoga for at home.
To get a break from needles, they'll do the Tdap at the next appointment.
They also answered some of the questions I had about pre-admission for the hospital and when we will discuss birth plan. We moved to the area recently so the hospital here is new and they're very strong on the no nursery - baby in the room at all times, pro nursing and skin to skin - which was nice to know since that was a number of the things I wanted.
For Fun: What was your favorite childhood toy/activity? I'd say it was likely playing Barbies.
How did your appointment go overall?
Great! Ultrasound and MFM appt
Any ultrasound or doppler?
Growth ultrasound....and I asked the tech so she did the 4D which I hadn't seen yet!

My dollhouse
How did your appointment go overall? It went well. I did the 1 hour glucose test, but only got a half-dose of the fruit punch glucola due to my gastric sleeve. The "sugar sweats" were real for the first 20 minutes. Had an ultrasound and boy is still breech and facing inward. Haven't been able to see his face in three months really because of how he is positioned. No 3d/4d either. Had rhogam and tdap shots today and a very quick ob check-up.
Any ultrasound or doppler? Ultrasound. See above.
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? I was with a nurse practitioner that was part of my Ob's practice, so I really didn't ask any questions, but I didn't have any major ones, either. I'll email her if I have something come up in the next two weeks.
For Fun: What was your favorite childhood toy/activity? Probably barbies. I loved dressing them up and rearranging them, but I didn't act out scenes with them.
How did your appointment go overall? Really well! I had my regular OB appointment first, and everything went great. My doctor is not concerned about my weight gain at all (huge relief since I had a big spike last month) and baby is measuring on schedule! I also had my third (!) attempt at an anatomy scan this week. The tech was able to get all the remaining shots she needed and baby got a clean bill of health!
Any ultrasound or doppler? Both
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Yes - I was concerned about my weight gain, but my doc assured me that I was still on track. She also made me feel at ease about requiring so many attempts at an anatomy scan.
For Fun: What was your favorite childhood toy/activity? +1 for Barbies. My mom recently pulled mine out so I could give them to baby girl one day (though I'm sure her toys will be cooler). I also loved PlayMobil!
How did your appointment go overall? Not great. NP was running nearly 30 minutes behind. Appointment was very quick and felt a little rushed. This was my first appointment since my GD diagnosis, and I thought we were going to go over the overall prognosis, monitoring plan, all that stuff. Instead she just confirmed that I had appointments with the endocrinologist and nutritionist and that was about it.
I got an "at least your weight's holding steady" comment, which was fine, but given how hard I've been working to stay healthy and the crappiness of the GD diagnosis I would have appreciated a little bit more of a kudos for that if that makes sense. She also told me my feet looked a little swollen. But I don't think they're swollen -- I think I just have fat feet. So there's that.
Any ultrasound or doppler? Doppler so I got to hear baby's heartbeat, which was nice. It was good and strong.
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Not really -- see above. I didn't really even ask the questions I had (I wanted to talk about my fear of preeclampsia and the fact that I've been feeling super emotional in addition to the GD) because things felt rushed and felt stressed. My next appointment is in 3 weeks and it's with my OB and not the NP, so I may try and make a list of questions I have before I go so that I can get them answered.
For Fun: What was your favorite childhood toy/activity? I was (and still am) a total bookworm.

How did your appointment go overall? It was good for the most part!! I did the glucose test, as well as the second part of the anatomy scan. Everything regarding the baby checked out great, and he weighs 1 lb 9 oz. There were two things to watch going forward. The first is my blood pressure. It was high this am which is very unlike me. I explained that H and I got into an argument right before the appointment, so hopefully that is the sole cause of my high blood pressure this time. (2 weeks ago H decided he was going to go on a workout binge and wakes up at 4am to do his workouts. As a result, he wakes me up and I only get 5 hours of sleep on those days. I asked him if he could work out after work or at another time, and he told me that I wasn't being supportive of his workout routine. Well I didn't think he should constantly make me get only 5 hours of sleep, especially while pregnant. Hence the argument.) The second thing to watch going forward is my placenta. It is still low, but luckily not covering my cervix. So I get an altrasound at my next appointment in 4 weeks to see if it's moving up.
Any ultrasound or doppler? Ultrasound
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Yes!! She is amazing. Asked her about TDAP, and she said it was very important for people who are going to be around the baby to get. Also asked her about my ankle swelling. She assured me that it's completely normal, especially when being pregnant during the summer.
For Fun: What was your favorite childhood toy/activity? Playing catch or baseball with my Dad.

How did your appointment go overall?
It went great except for the GT test. That mess made me so nauseated. Still waiting on results
Any ultrasound or doppler? Portable u/s. She's head down already, so that's exciting!
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Yes, I asked if the specific exercises I'm doing are still okay for the third tri and they are. Yay!
For Fun: What was your favorite childhood toy/activity? I loved my waterbaby. That was probably my favorite, but I also loved my doll house.
