Sorry I'm late everyone! My computer is on the fritz. I hope everyone is doing well!

How far along are you?

How are you doing?

GTKY: Tell us about your SO!

Re: FTM Check-In (7/10)

  • How far along are you? Yay hi! Today I am 3+6

How are you doing? I'm good. Just peeing more frequently.

GTKY: Tell us about your SO! My husband is 26 years old and 6'6". He is a Project Engineer for a major highway expansion. His hobbies include cars and saltwater aquariums. Jazz and electronic dance music are his favorite types of music. He is so thoughtful and caring and will help you without even asking for help. He cooks, cleans and is generally more of a neat freak than me. His weaknesses include saving money and impulse purchases haha. But he will always end a fight first by hugging me and melting my angry frozen heart.

    2.  Overall, fine.  I'm SO incredibly constipated today, I'm borderline miserable.  Early viability scan on Thursday!

    3.  He's a quiet, sweet, nerdy guy.  He's insanely smart (degrees in chemical engineering and music).  He works in manufacturing.  He also plays the bass (upright and electric).  He used to play professionally but now does it just for fun.

How are you doing? Pretty good so far. Definitely tired. Like a lot. Very excited though, we are waiting at least 2 more weeks to tell anyone and I am getting so anxious, I can't wait!

GTKY: Tell us about your SO! He's a high school math teacher and cross country/track coach. He just finished his masters in educational leadership and is starting to look into administrative jobs now. He also loves running. He ran in college on a scholarship and has done countless 5ks and quite a few marathons and halfs. Whereas, I have a 0.0 sticker for my car. He works his butt off. I'm in awe of him. He is amazing ❤️

  • Hi all -

How far along are you? 4w+4d

How are you doing? Pretty good overall! I have moments that I feel completely normal and have to remind myself that I'm pregnant. Weird feeling. This weekend I've been feeling less gassy and I've been getting used to the frequent peeing.

GTKY: Tell us about your SO! DH has a PhD in chemical engineering and is starting his own company, which is stressful because it's a huge financial risk and also means he works every day, but we're managing. He is an excellent cook and helpful around the house (though not as detail oriented as I am about cleaning). He loves traveling and gardening with me (though he's taken over that this summer once we started TTC) and he adores our cats, which melts my heart.

  • @Sugargirl1019 Your hubby is only 3 inches taller than mine! It's nice being able to spot the tall ones easily in a crowd.

@PattersRN That's awesome that your DH is a musician. Do you think you guys will try to get your kid(s) involved in music at a young age?

@mittenlove86 Congrats to your husband! Is he looking for positions this coming school year?

@weareturtles Symptoms haven't been super present for me either. I only know they're there because I look for them. I'm hoping for more severe ones down the line, because I'm a little nuts.
  • @dubcompanion Yes!!  DH inspired me to take up the cello a year and a half ago, so music is a big part of both of our lives.  We don't want to force our kids to do anything they don't want to, but I imagine they'll end up playing an instrument of some sort.

    ETA - @PattersRN

That's awesome!! And good for you! My parents had me take up the violin when I was about 3 years old, and I played it religiously until midway through college. Life got busy. I met DH in orchestra in 9th grade, and he played cello. We intend to not force anything upon our kids either, hobbies or dreams or otherwise. At the very least, we want them to enjoy and appreciate music....even if they end up liking genres we don't!

  • How far along are you?
    6 weeks today

    How are you doing?
Ok. Starting yesterday I just do not feel very well. I'm queasy and dizzy if I stand up too fast. I'm grateful I haven't thrown up but I'm really not looking forward to working this week. Plus I have a work trip on Tuesday, ugh.

GTKY: Tell us about your SO!
@sugargirl1019 my husband is 6'6 too. I never lose him in a crowd haha. He's very kind and caring, and he's a homebody who loves to just hang out at home and grill or watch Netflix. He's supportive and although he hates running he's come with me to countless races and cheered me on.

    Morning everyone!!

    How far along are you?
     4 weeks and 2 days

How are you doing? So far mostly good, but super tired. Also not sleeping very well because my allergies seem to be acting up the last few days, hoping that moves on soon!

GTKY: Tell us about your SO! SO is 33 and a tax account (which should be interesting with a baby born in the middle of tax season...). He's a great guy who's always supportive, and has a great sense of humour. Our relationship pretty much involves us just pranking each other and laughing all the time.

How are you doing? Well! I'm not really having much in the way of symptoms, which is definitely making me nervous, but I'm also trying to just enjoy being newly pregnant since I am feeling so good.

GTKY: Tell us about your SO!
My DH is a fireman, so he works some pretty long hours. We met in HS and started dating when we were 17. He is honestly the kindest person I know, and I'm proud to be married to him. I absolutely can't wait to see him with a child.
  • How far along are you? 4w6d

How are you doing?  Pretty good for the most part...sore boobs, tired all the time, queasy in the mornings, my appetite is crazy, some occasional bloating and gas and a little irritability

GTKY: Tell us about your SO! DH is 36 and is a product manager for an upscale German faucet manufacturer. He used to play paintball semi-professionally when he was younger and traveled the country doing that.  His hobbies include shooting pistol and rifle matches.  @SandwichLover I can't get my hubby to run with me either, but he's very supportive :)

How are you doing? Pretty good. Sore boobs, tired, peeing a lot. Nausea comes and goes. If I get too hungry I feel like puking. @SandwichLover I've also had some dizziness, which also makes me want to puke. Otherwise just taking things one day at a time. My PGAL brain is having a really hard time waiting to see the Dr.

GTKY: Tell us about your SO! My husband is a high school English teacher. He also does technology and drama stuff at his school. He's really into theater. We met in college during a musical; I was doing stage makeup and he was on the stage crew. As seems to be a common theme here, he is a really good cook! He also enjoys doing projects around the house and being outside.

  • It makes me feel a lot better to see that some of you have been having cramping! I know it's normal this early but it still makes me uneasy.

How far along are you? 4w1d

How are you doing? Pretty great! Told our best friends and my mom this weekend which was tons of fun. They are all so excited for us. My friends kept saying "WE are having a baby!" Lol, this baby is going to have the coolest support system ever!

GTKY: Tell us about your SO! Well he's the bomb. I could not have hand picked a more perfect person for me. He's pretty much my opposite personality wise, but our interests and hobbies are the same so it's a nice balance. He's hilarious and always keeps me laughing, which to me is very attractive. I don't think I can be attracted to someone who doesn't have a good sense of humor! But truly he's such a hard working guy and very reasonable. He helps keep me calm as I'm a worrier and he's very go with the flow! He's going to be an amazing dad!
  • How far along are you? 3w5d

    How are you doing?
Blah. I guess I'm one of those lucky few that got not-so-fun pregnancy symptoms BEFORE my BFP. I turned a test 9dpo and have been feeling nauseous since 6dpo. If I hadn't been charting I would assume that I had gotten the days wrong and that maybe I was farther along. If i eat I get heartburn. If I don't eat I get nauseous. I've been trying to eat multiple small meals, and have bought nearly every nausea home remedy from Amazon. My favorite so far are the chewy ginger candies (Reed's, Chimes, or Prince of Peace brands).

Maybe TMI, but I've been getting some mild cramping after sex, BUT... it is the best sex I have had IN MY LIFE. This baby is doing crazy things to me.

I booked this week off of work intending to do nothing, but then I got my BFP. Now its all research and planning and napping. So it will be the best week ever!

GTKY: Tell us about your SO!
My husband is 35, and came to the US from Poland when he was 16. He has Cerebral Palsy and walks with crutches or uses a wheelchair. He is a computer programmer and works from home. He is patient and kind and a homebody like me. He's the smartest person I know and he loves to talk! That has become a bit of an issue because he has already told 3 friends, his parents, and all of his coworkers that we're expecting!
  • How far along are you? 6wks+2d
How are you doing? Other than being incredibly tired all the time, and my hypersensitivities from this pregnancy making even taco seasoning too spicy, I've been good! Can't wait for my 8 wk appointment!
GTKY: Tell us about your SO! He's a very sweet 25 yo who always knows how to calm me down when I'm having an anxiety attack or when I'm worrying too much. He also works construction (indoors) at a place that makes those concrete panels for interstates/highways. He really wants to go back to school once I graduate so he can get a degree in aquarium science since he absolutely loves fish and his big fish tank. He also wants to be a scuba diver if I can get a job in a place near the ocean. I would be freaking out over this whole pregnancy thing if he weren't here to help me keep calm about it lol. He's a great uncle to his 6 nephews and 1 niece though, so I know he'll be a great dad.

  • How far along are you? - 6+5

How are you doing? - physically, I have a lot of symptoms and hate feeling sick all the time, but emotionally, I'm excited that it (probably) means baby is sticky/growing :)

GTKY: Tell us about your SO! - Okay, I'm jealous of all you people with your tall husbands! I always wanted a tall husband, but I fell in love with someone exactly the same height as me, so that felt like my one "compromise." Not bad as far as compromises for spouses go. :) Hopefully the baby finds some tall genes anyway.
DH is totally a geek, so we fit together well. He loves Legos, Star Wars, Harry Potter, etc. and works in a half computer tech, half educational career that he fell into by accident but loves now. We are both from huge Italian families and can't wait to do the big announcement to everyone (oh how high the decibel level will be from the aunties...). He is learning to cook, because I'm not great at it, and he's learning to love the outdoors, because I do and keep dragging him on hikes. He is soooo cute with our nieces and nephews. Watching him become a dad should be amazing!

  • How far along are you? 6w4d

How are you doing? Still so, so tired! I have also lost all interest in eating since Friday. Not exactly nausea, but food just does not looks good and I'm having to force myself to eat. I also seem to start gaging whenever I'm in the bathroom. I had my first ultrasound at 6w1d and saw the gestational sac in the correct place! Did not see the yolk sac, which has me super worried, but my RE did not seemed worried and said it could still be too early. Beta numbers still look good, so hopefully everything is good. We have another ultrasound on Friday to check.

GTKY: Tell us about your SO! My DH is part geek, part sports lover and a total goofball. We are each other's best friend and have the best time together. He used to be a mechanical engineer, but went back to school for a masters in quantitive analysis and now he does equity strategy for an investment bank. Needless to say, he is super super smart and a wiz at numbers. He is also supportive of everything I do. I used to play roller derby and now am a derby cheerleader in my spare time, so he is the team mascot, Macho Mayhem who is based off of macho man randy savage.

  • How far along are you? 6 weeks 6 days!  Excited about 7 weeks tmw.

How are you doing?  DH's mom died suddenly last week, and that's a lot of sadness on top of all the new pregnancy craziness. She was the most amazing woman. Symptom-wise, having slight nausea on and off and sore boobs. Nothing too dramatic. On pins and needles until my first ultrasound next Monday!

GTKY: Tell us about your SO!  Fun fact: he and I were born on the same day of the same year.  Sometimes I forget that not all married people share a birthdate.  :)  He's funny, creative, and super spacey--as in, one time I sent him to the grocery store to get diced tomatoes and he came home with dog treats. (They both start with a D and a T, I guess...)
  • @minipig90 I'm so sorry for your loss.  <3 Losing a parent is already incredibly hard, and it must be especially tough with also dealing with the joy and anxiety of getting ready to have your first child. Hugs to you two.

How are you doing? Eh. These past few days have been ok. I'm having "mid-afternoon sickness" I get so nauseous and I've been having a really upset stomach with diarrhea. (Sorry that's gross, I'm a RN so I talk about bodily functions freely  ) Very tired at the end of the day and waking up around 4am every morning to pee; then can't open back to sleep. Grr!

GTKY: Tell us about your SO! We've been married 2 years but together almost 7 years. He's a goofball and makes me laugh everyday. He LOVES college basketball; he's a major sports junkie in general. Hunting and fishing are his favorite things to do. He supported me (emotionally and financially) when I decided I wanted to go back to school. He is the on-site supervisor for a company so he stays very busy. DH has a daughter from a previous marriage whom I adore.
  • How far along are you? 4+6 by lmp, but I put O date in for my ticket calculator so it might not match.... I'm on mobile so I can't see :S

How are you doing? Great.  I'm just so excited that even when I get a bit nervous,  I can pull myself out of it really easily.

GTKY: Tell us about your SO!
He is awesome.  We are also pretty similar to the extent that we have the same job haha. We are different enough in I'll personalities though so we get along really well.  I can't imagine life without him :)

  • 6 weeks along!! Yay!

Im doing okay. Super tired (duh) and today is the first day I felt nauseated enough that I started dry heaving - great!! I think morning sickness is around the corner for me.

My husband is a full time student right now and serves in the Army Reserves. He just transitioned after 5 years active. He is excited for the little one to get here!
  • How far along are you? 4+3

How are you doing? Sore breasts and light cramping, otherwise just super excited to be here!

GTKY: Tell us about your SO!
We've been married for 2.5 years, together for 6. DH works in an animal genetics lab. He loves all things sports (go Badgers!) and doing stuff around the house. It is so sweet to see him play with our 19 month old niece and I can't wait to see him with this little one <3
  • How far along are you? I'll be 6 weeks tomorrow.

How are you doing? I'm fine, but tired a lot.

GTKY: Tell us about your SO! My husband is 34 and I'm 27 (for one more week). We have been together 8 years and married for 2. He works as a pest control technician, but his main interest is his punk band. When he has some time off work, we dye his hair fun colors, and/or he may choose to have a Mohawk for a little while. He currently plays guitar, but can play a lot of instruments. They actually were planning a March tour, but it's going to have to be pushed back now!

He's very shy until he gets to know people. My constant sarcasm is often lost on him, and I have to explain that I'm joking a lot. He's incredibly sweet, and he is unbelievably patient with me. He manages to stay calm when I overreact and will tell me that my overreacting is fitting for the situation. I love how he always sees things from my point of view. He's pretty much the best husband ever, and I'm glad he's mine.
