Best Day Ever

My LO has been sleeping from 10pm-10am - waking up at 4:30 and 7:30 to eat! I can't believe he is still peacefully sleeping. I'm sensing a growth spurt which means a lot of fussiness and binge eating is probably coming my way but it's so worth it! I slept! I ate breakfast! I'm sitting here enjoying the beautiful morning weather!!

Tell me about the great days or awesome moments you've had lately!! ETA: Not just sleep! Smiles, laughs, milestones, anything GREAT!!

Re: Best Day Ever

  • My LO is sleeping from about 9 pm to 8am and waking up around 2 am, 5am and sometimes 7 as well. It's awesome! She is a little over 6 weeks and has started reacting to us by smiling and widening her eyes when we're talking to her. I love it!

  • I keep hearing about this six week sleep regression..but baby slept from 10pm-3:30am and then 4:30am-9am. She's been sleeping like this for a couple weeks now, only waking up once during the night. Glorious!
  • Perfect timing for this thread! We got real smiles yesterday!! And she's been non stop since!!
Awwww SO CUTE!!!!! I *think* my LO is finally socially smiling... He's done it to me a couple times and he smiles at random inanimate objects lol... I'm always unsure if it's just him pooping since his smiling isn't consistent - but I am pretty sure!!! ❤️❤️ Smiles are a game changer aren't they?! Like this tiny human eats, sleeps, poops, AND SMILES! So different than just eat, sleep, poop HAHA!
  • We're transitioning Ezra out of the family bed and into a rocker next to our bed (to help our marriage- hard to snuggle when you've got a baby between you!) and he slept from 10pm until 6am when he ate, slept again until 9am and then was a happy guy until we got to church- which he slept through!
now he's napping in the rocker! He must be having a growth spurt to sleep that much!

My baby has just been the happiest moods lately and it is really making my heart burst into a million happy pieces.
    Ridiculous like crying happy.
Oh hormones. But tons of baby smiles!!

DS has been sleeping those same hours for nearly 2 weeks now (since 6 weeks old)! I'll take it!
  • My best day was taking DS to the aquarium last weekend. It was incredible just how intrigued he was by all the fish! We had an absolute blast!
  • My baby slept from 10-5 and then from 545-915. Best sleep of her short 7 week life!

Baby starting to smile a little bit AND first beach day! Bonus for the weather clearing up and being hot and sunny just an hour after this picture was taken!
I think I see Haystack Rock in the background, we were there a few weeks ago during that epic heat wave in June!
  • @Bellodomani - yup, cannon beach! I think I was giving birth during that epic heat wave. It heated up again yesterday too, we thought it was going to be crappy but ended up using the umbrella we brought for rain for a little sun shelter.

  • Real smiles are the best. My kid was reflexively smiling since he was in an incubator in the NICU but I always corrected anyone who coo'ed about him 'smiling'. I didn't even count the 'happy smiles' they get later on either. I only got genuinely celebratory when he made prolonged eye contact with me and did a right proper social smile consistently. It's a real game changer when that happens.
