How to preserve fetal tissue to take into dr

My apologies if this has been discussed. I can't seem to put together the right sequence of words to find an answer either here or Google. 

I began bleeding yesterday and went to the er. When they discharged me they gave me instruction to make a follow-up appointment with my Dr and save tissue that I pass for testing. 

Today I've been in active miscarriage and passed several very large chunks of tissue. I've collected it all in an airtight container but I'm not sure how to keep it until I can get into my midwife's office on Monday. 

This is my second miscarriage but my first was a MMC and I had a d&c. This whole process is completely foreign to me. 

Thank you for your advice and I'm sorry any of us have reason to post on this board.

@MamaCoffin So sorry for your loss. I ended up having a D&C, but my OB had told me to collect the sample in a sterile pee cup and put in a bag and leave in the refrigerator until you could bring it to the office. Good luck to you.

@MamaCoffin I'm so sorry you're going through this horrible process. I was also told to keep a sample in the refridgerator to then take in to the office.
