Weighing in on stitchfix and pokemon:

    1. I was a huge proponent of stitch fix until they started sending me super cheap clothes that were either damaged upon arrival (hems busted, holes in seams, etc) or would fall apart after one wear. My last 4 fixes had items that needed to be returned. I will say that they were kind and polite when processing the returns, but if I'm spending 50-60 bucks on a tank top, it better be good quality! I stopped getting fixes and have been happier for it. Recommend if you use them, check every item meticulously!

    2. I'm too old for pokemon (i have no idea what a jigglypuff and pikachu are, or what pokemons are rare vs. common) but I'm playing anyway! It is actually kinda fun and is helping me stay active - but is a significant battery and data drain. I give it a couple weeks before most people get bored (or tired of charging their phones 3x/day) and move on :)

Edited because I suck at typing on my phone... sigh.

  • YOU GUISE.

If you have Amazon Prime, get your sweet butt over to their website and see the deals they have going on today! A lot of their deals don't start until later since it's still morning, but they have a ton of baby stuff on sale!

Breastfeeding supplies, clothes, cribs, cars eats, bath time stuff...quite a few things from my registry are on there, including they are having great deals on Ju Ju Be diaper bags and backpacks!

    Seriously...do it.
  • @Penelope4612 I used StitchFix for a while and then stopped it when I found out I was pregnant. Much like the others are saying, it's hit or miss. In my first order there was a pair of jean that, while cute, were WAY off in sizing and not anything that I would ever wear. I made mention of this when I sent them back, so with the next order came they sent me the same exact jeans, in the same exact size as before.

Also, 2+ months after I cancelled online and in writing (I'm paranoid about that kind of thing, so when I have to cancel something I cancel in every possible way) they randomly started me back up two weeks ago, charging my card and what not. I was so mad. They're customer service was not very good either... it took them 3 days just to respond to me and though they refunded the $20 they charged, they just said, oh yeah, we see you stopped your membership in May. Our bad.

  • Ok - third pregnancy here and I don't recall having this issue with the other two:  By mid-afternoon I am SUPER bloated and uncomfortable.  Like, in the morning I look a little pregnant and by 3pm I look SUPER pregnant and I feel like someone inflated a balloon in my stomach (my actual stomach, this isn't the bump part).  I drink a lot of water, pee often, and eat a mostly balanced diet.  My job is a desk job, but also involves being up and around often.  I haven't noticed a difference on days that involve more or less walking.

    Help?  Ideas?
  • Before 10am I typically get comments that I don't even look pregnant. After 2pm people think I'm about to give birth. No advice...but I feel ya! I don't remember it this bad last pregnancy.

This is #4 for me and I'm in the same boat.  I think our bodies just know what to do know and stretch out earlier from memory!
  • I've gone from give me alllll the food to, as someone else mentioned above, general malaise and annoyance at having to figure out something to eat.

Before pregnancy I loved to cook, now I hate it. Why?

I'm finding it so hard to believe that our babies are all about a half a pound right now at the almost 1/2 way point (for those of us closer to early December).  That is some serious growth in the next 20-22 weeks!
Seriously. We're all gonna get huge so quickly! It's hard to wrap my brain around that, yeah, we're halfway through, but the babies are only less than 10% of their probable birth weight.
  • Yup viability date is on my calendar too!

So I got a text from a girl I've hung out with once (I initiated), who I don't have a texting relationship (I don't text her and she doesn't text me), and I haven't seen in a long time. I don't consider it a friendship, to be honest...wasn't a good fit.

She was telling me that she knows I'm super busy getting things ready for a baby and she doesn't want to intrude, but essentially, that I shouldn't forget my friends. Uhh...ok?

Look. Pregnancy is hard, even if your pregnancy is smooth. I'm tired. I'm sweaty. Sometimes I'm a crab. I have hair growing im funny places, and my boobs feel like they are going to fall off. I have a gazillion things on my mind, I'm working, juggling dysfunctional family, and trying to get things ready for this massive life change. EXCUSE ME THAT YOU ARE NOT A PRIORITY.

If you don't text me, talk to me, ask me to hang out, or be there when things are shitty what need do I have for you in my life?

I replied to her and she was like, "Well I wanted you tell you that I didn't forget you." Alright.

If I had a long-term friendship with this person, then I would absolutely take steps to reconnect. But hanging out with you once...in March?....does not constitute a relationship on my part. Don't try to make me feel like a shitty friend when you haven't even made a single attempt to reach out further. Bye Felicia.
  • Friendship during pregnancy is hard. I really only have 1 friend that I'm super close with. We hang out once a week (dinner and bachelor/Bachelorette). I love having out with her cuz she's totally chill if my toddler is screaming and I'm in pj's already when she arrives at 5 haha.  I do wear real clothes if we are going out though.

DH has 3 best friends from college, and the rule they started was their girlfriends/wives all needed to get along. Well, we do and we are now best friends. 2 don't have kids and one has an almost 9 year old (he's so super excited about the baby and can't wait to be a big "cousin"). We get together, either all 4 of us or just 2 of us, every so often and talk all the time. But they were so super understanding during the first trimester where all I did was sleep and puke. So plans were canceled last minute and I felt awful for it. But even when baby comes we still plan on getting together with them. The one did that with her almost 9 year old, and we still include him in nearly everything we do. This LO will be no different. You know who your true friends are @dmontgo and they would have never sent you a text like this. Don't let this b*tch mess with you.

EDITED because the Bump ate part of my post.

  • @dmontgo I was really good friends with this girl in high school, and I tried staying in touch with her after I switched high schools and then went to college. She never reciprocated, she would always ignore my texts or set up times to hangout and then blow me off. And then she called my mom recently to tell her how hurt she was that she had to find out the baby's sex on Facebook. She actually got married and didn't tell anyone except through changing her name on Facebook, and her dad called her out on it and she was upset about it. So she can dish it out but she can't take it, and she felt entitled to know the baby's sex when we haven't spoken in maybe 2 or 3 years? People will take your good news and your joy and try to make it all about them, unfortunately.
  • @phoenix870509 @sourlemon See that's awesome and makes total sense. You have an established friendship, and there is an understanding between you. Your friendship is reciprocated and that's awesome. You don't have to go into deep detail of how pregnancy is making things hard sometimes. If we had an ongoing friendship maybe I'd take her seriously, but all of my close friends have heard from me and we see each other as often as I'm capable. They don't make me feel awful, jeez!

@ashleaf2018 People are crazy. What business is it of hers in the first place? I don't understand how people can not talk to you for months or years, and suddenly it's their business when cool things are happening in your life? And then make it look like you're the bad guy? Puh-lease.

  • @dmontgo 3 other "good friends" stopped having out the day I announced my pregnancy. Fake people suck. Read friends are awesome but hard to find.

  • I know we have a dream thread but I am feeling so anxious that I just need to get this thing off my chest! I had a dream that the baby was possessed by the devil himself. She turned into a he with demonic green eyes. We were told that the only way to get rid of the devil was to separate the limbs from the body and burn everything deep in the woods. But we couldn't stay while the body burned or the Devils spirit would possess the closest innocent body..... what in the hell?!

  • Today I was sitting in the floor sorting laundry. The dog comes up, sticks her head under my arm, and start sniffing my belly super intently. Then she started licking it. What a nut!

Not sure if it really had anything to do with baby, but I'm telling myself it did cause it was too cute. Like she was just saying hi. Or my baby smells like bacon.

    @tinattt23 that's so sweet!

My dog started sleeping with his head next to my belly. This is the only way he will sleep in the bed now. I don't know if it's just a coincidence but I think it's adorable.
  • Found what I thought was a cute blog post that equates "baby is the size of XX fruit/veggie" to junk food. https://www.mkhammertime.com/blog/2015/8/25/how-big-is-my-baby-the-fruit-to-fast-food-conversion-chart-youve-always-wanted. Week 25 is my favorite for the snark.

  • @tinattt23 how cute! @kbduke My pup likes to sleep with his head on my belly. I'm waiting for the baby to start kicking and get the dog right in the face! And I hope I have my phone so I can record his reaction! (This makes me sound so awful, but this is what I'm looking forward to, haha)

@phoenix870509 Lol! That would be adorable to catch on video. My pup is not the smartest so I'm just surprised that he's caught on about the pregnancy at all.
  • I just got back home from a glorious mani/pedi.

While I was finishing up, there was a little girl and boy sitting in the chairs, waiting for their mom. What I'm assuming was their grandpa was talking with them, and the children were talking about their mom being pregnant.

The little girl said to her grandpa,

"Do you know why mommy is so happy? She's having a boy and she said she's glad because she thinks I have an attitude!"

The little girl was laughing, but I was so sad that her mom had told her that. :/

Dude, me too. I video my dog every time he puts his head on my belly, just in case it happens.
  • @ajstevenson This is my favorite go-to alternative. The illustrations are super cute. This week my baby is the size of an eclair!

I just woke up to next to my new BFF- SNOOGLE is da bomb! I can't believe how much I struggled sleeping the last 2-3 weeks. I love It, I wished I got it sooner!!!!!
Right?! I got mine about a month ago. It's not very conducive for snuggling/spooning with my boyfriend but for sleeping, it's pretty rad.
  • I had to leave my Snoogle back at home for my monthlong trip to Indiana. Right when I'm starting to really need it! :weary:

  • FFSC - I have tried to love my snoogle now for two pregnancies.  It doesn't work for me.  I'd rather have a body pillow.  Maybe I'm too short for it?  I try to love it like once a week and end up throwing it out of bed in anger within an hour every time.
