I know there is a VBAC board but it's pretty quiet and I'm just curious if any March '17 mamas are hopeful for the opportunity to VBAC. I am definitely going to try as long as no pregnancy complications arise and all goes well with monitoring. My son was enormous at 9lbs, 12oz and was facing my right hip. 36hrs into labor I was stalled, super drugged after a primarily unmedicated labor and ended with a C. Will definitely be watching my diet and get a good exercise routine going this go around!
Re: A bit early but any VBAC hopefuls here?

@mcdonald-bailey that's what I'm thinking too and with a toddler I can't imagine the same recovery. I was in pain for weeks.
@librarymom917 oh my. You went in stacked against you
My only hope is that I don't have the same issues that I had with DS. I never dilated past 3.5 centimeters, and my labor was never actually considered active because there was no rhyme or reason to my contractions. They were very erratic -- I would go 5-10 minutes between two, and then have four back to back. Then after two days DS' heartrate started dropping after each contraction. After I had the CS, they told me he was a bit too big for me (he was 8lbs 9oz) and had the cord loosely around his neck.
FX for a better labor this time!
I spoke to my OB at my annual and he said that we will go into my next pregnancy with an open mind and won't make any decisions until 37 weeks. He worries that, due to my size (overweight) and history of C, that I would be at risk for hemorrhage. I too will be watching my foods and tr to move more to stay as healthy as possible!!!

Generally you should be 18 months between end of last pregnancy and start of next pregnancy for a VBAC.
I had a very in depth conversation with my OB who is confident we can try this go. If not, I'm content to have a healthy baby any way he/she comes out.
both after fairly long labors (26 hours and 12), and at 8 and 6 cm dilated.
I'm with a midwife again and have to discuss my options with her. She offered to be my caregiver even if I need a Csection which is wonderful.
So im a maybe, fingers crossed
I know everyone is different and a million things can effect your birth and recovery. I had a horrible time with pain meds after my csection and felt like I couldn't function for 6 weeks because of the pain. My natural birth was amazing and even though I had an episiotomy and stitches I was up walking and feeling great an hour after birth. So for me that was much better. I can only pray for that kind of experience again!
My doctor preferred 18 months between pregnancies but was ok with 12 months. That part definitely made me nervous!

Now I moved to a new state and found 'the known' VBAC Doctor. My friends had a VBA2C with him, so I am hopeful! We will see what happens!
So- if you have conversations with your providers ladies, please share here so we can educate/equip ourselves with the best knowledge and preparation to have these talks!!
