I thought this would be a handy thread to moms that might need something that one of us has or if we are looking for something in particular that we can't find and one of us knows where to find it!
I am in need of enfamil checks if any mammas have any they are not using and would be generous enough to mail!
Go to amazon and do a search for enfamil. There is a giant (Sam's Club brand?) knock-off of the Enfamil Gentlease that is SO much cheaper than the name brand. It's Member's Mark Gentle 48oz. Way way way cheaper than using the checks, and it lasts so much longer, too.
When we talked to the pediatrician in her first week about formula, she straight up told us to just buy the store brand versions, since they are exactly the same and all regulated anyway. Took me a few weeks of trying out (ie: spending a crazy amount on) Enfamil, Similac, and even Gerber before remembering her advice.
@janeen6789 I was induced but when I got to the hospital and they hooked me up, apparently I was already in labor per my recorded contractions :-)! I was having long contractions every few minutes for 8 hours and didn't feel a thing until after I had pitocin and my water broke!! Then it was the worst and most intense pain of my life.. But I couldn't believe I went that long without feeling them!!
@kit&cat I could have written that exactly! Except they gave me a foley bulb first to get my cervix ready. But they kept saying, "are you sure you're not feeling anything?" Luckily I got to feel plenty once the pitocin kicked in, that stuff is a beast.
Yeah I wasn't feeling my contractions either until they started me on the pitocin to speed things up. If my water didn't break I would have no idea I was in labor.
@saladflambe if you find the target version and like it please post - I bought so much regular similac before we switched to sensitive formula and I'd like to avoid paying again. Fingers crossed this baby can tolerate the regular version at some point within a year.
