GTKY:  Do you dress yourself according to your mood, or is it just me?  What is your favourite go-to outfit you put on when you want to cheer/psych yourself up? I dress according to what Im going to be doing that day. So, if I was just going to be in my office all day I'd wear a warm sweater because it's cold, but if I'm going to be working in the virus lab I need to wear long pants, socks and shoes to meet dress code and a t shirt because it's really hot wearing long sleeves under all the protective gear.

@LadyMillil Thanks - I was actually telling DH last night about those studies you posted a while back.  He was insisting that we bd last night but I remembered best chances were -2 and -1, and I was pretty sure I o'd yesterday.

With his lower morphology, I've read that eod is better, but once we get close to the fw I really don't know if what I'm starting as eod is going to turn out as -4, -2, 0 or -3, -1, +1, so we just do ed because I'm afraid of bad timing. And now I'm exhausted with the whole process just typing this out!!  [This all makes me feel so silly because it's like, I don't think timing is our problem at this point! We've tried every combination of different timing!! :disappointed: ]

I just enter AM or PM for sex @GrabberBlue2010 but I have had that same thought on weekends when it was after midnight!
@NYTino24 I would say do not go back on BC. I actually wish I came off it sooner than I did to get to know my cycles better. 6 cycles later I still feel like they are normalizing.
@BusinessWife I agree with @KirstenH88 I too learn tons from reading your posts. Thanks for always taking the time to respond. We are lucky to have you!!
I'll second @LadyMillil 's advice on the teas and asprin based off of what I have read not from experience.

    Cycle/Month: 6/7 months

    CD: 32

    WAYDTGKU: HIO still.

R/R: So I got back from the shore last night and took an OPK... smiley last night and smiley this morning. Looks like you guys were right and I am having more than one surge in my longest cycle EVER. Either that or it will be anovulatory in which case I have no long how long that will last.

CS/Questions? I just noticed there are two diff places to enter an OPK result on FF. I have just been entering a + or - but I use the Clear Blue Easy that only gives you a smiley on the peak days. Is that considered an advanced device?

GTKY:  Do you dress yourself according to your mood, or is it just me?  What is your favourite go-to outfit you put on when you want to cheer/psych yourself up?

Oh yes, I do. Typical Monday uniform (or Tuesday this week) is a flowy top and stretch in the pants. I have a whole lot of black in my wardrobe too. I think I am the opposite of some of you where if I am in a bad mood I am not putting the effort in to hair/make up and I'll go with a minimal look.

ETA: correct cycle day... I can never remember!

@NYtino24 As others mentioned, I'm not quite sure I would go back on BCP for one month. I would just wait the 6 mos and use condoms.

@squiddly Super impressed with your sewing! I can sew a little bit - I think the most complicated thing I've made is a pair of pajama pants.  :D

    @GrabberBlue2010 I just use a 24 hr midnight to midnight timing.  :)

@yaeger07 I got 3 months of FF - i think they were having a sale or promotion or something? Anyways it was like 16$ for 3 months. I love charting and recording data, so it satisfied my inner nerd to have all the options. :)

    Cycle/Month: 4/5
    CD: 17

    WAYDTGK: Charting, temping, OPKs, Bangin'

R/R: Not too much to report here (WTF? Why are these stupid smileys messing up??). Had a pretty relaxing 4th. I think it's my least favorite holiday so we didn't do much. Lots of fireworks but the dog didn't freak out nearly as much as we thought he would. Day 27 of my whole30!! Almost over then it's wine time!

CS/Questions? Sooo - OPK still negative today. Yesterday it was negative, but darker than today. I kind of thought the lines would get progressively darker? Also, do y'all take your OPK at the same time every day - or the same bathroom visit? Like - I was doing mine as my 2nd morning urine - which happens at about 10:30 or 11. But today, that bathroom visit was my 3rd - so I actually tested with my 3rd. Does that make any difference at all? I could have sworn I had a bit of EWCM this AM, so maybe in the next day or two I'll get a positive.

GTKY:  Do you dress yourself according to your mood, or is it just me?  What is your favourite go-to outfit you put on when you want to cheer/psych yourself up.
I'm not much one for dressing up fancy. Comfy clothes are my go to. I wear a lot of workout pants/yoga pants/shorts and tank tops around the house. In the summer I don't go out much. Dressing up fancy tends to stress me out a bit, but I'll do it if the occasion warrants it.

@NamelessAria - YAY on your appointment!! That is great news and an awesome step in the right direction!!!
My RE said the same thing about temping. He said it is "old school" and not a common practice anymore and to do OPK's. The next month (while secretly still temping) I went back with the info that I had several surges... at different times. So after the 4th surge in 2 weeks I finally stopped POAS. That is when he said we would start monitoring O with ultra sound. All of which lined up with my temps.
I am just as ???? as you are... still.... 3 months later.

ETA - I dont think I will ever give up temping. At this point I feel like it is all that I have control over. lol

NamelessAria Good to hear that the RE is on the same page. Hopefully some testing can get you the answers you need. Also, I had an RE tell me that my temping, tracking and OPKs were still not accurate in determining when I ovulated. I was a bit irritated to say the least. I figure doubling and tripling up can't hurt, especially if all of the fertility signs line up. I hope that it all works out for you. I think I'm rooting for you more than myself this cycle.

@GrabberBlue2010 I record sex by whether or not I've gone to sleep yet. If my husband and I are still awake it isn't the next day yet even if it's 2am. I'm not sure that's how it "should" be recorded but that's what I do anyhow.

@yaeger07 I personally think FF VIP is worth it if you can get it on sale. I'm not 100% sure I'd pay full price for it. As for the temps I'd use the temp from 5 something but that's mostly because I've noticed that no matter when I went to bed even if it was 8pm my temp before 5am is always weirdly high. I can temp at 4am and have a 97.4 temp then temp again at 8am and have a 96.8 temp. So since I know my wee hours of the morning temps are always going to be artificially high I don't ever use them. Honestly I wouldn't use a 3am temp even if I didn't get a chance to temp again that day. I'd rather not have a temp there at all then have one so wildly inaccurate. If your temps aren't wonky like mine then I'd say maybe use the 3am temp since you didn't get 3+ hours of sleep between 3 and 5? Regardless of which you pick leave yourself a note about the temp being unreliable.

@KirstinH88 For what it's worth it's pretty normal for me to have elevated temps till around the start of my fertile window. Once I'm fertile my temps drop to where they "should" be for pre-O.

    Cycle/Month: 10/9

    CD: 9

WAYDTGKU: Temping, OPKs, PNV, Vit D, FertileCM...

R/R: I haven't been on here in a week due to work craziness, so just getting caught up on how everyone's doing. My latest ultrasound and CD3 bloodwork all looked good, so it's onto the final piece of my initial fertility testing tomorrow. I guess it's great that nothing appears to be wrong, but it's also frustrating to not have an explanation for why it isn't happening for us. I'm kind of annoyed at TCOYF for making it sound so easy!

CS/Questions? Has anyone here had a sonohysterogram (AKA saline sonogram)? Is it true that it doesn't hurt much? Mine is tomorrow and I'm a little anxious. I'm actually getting cramps just thinking about it.

GTKY: Like others have said, I definitely put more effort in when I'm feeling lousy. A great outfit and/or bright lipstick makes me feel better. I don't have a go-to outfit, but I do always put myself together even though I work from home. Working in sweatpants does not work for me!

I haven't made it on here since Friday...man i missed a ton! All good things it looks like though  Way to communicate ladies!

    Cycle/Month: 3/3 TTCAL

    CD: 21

WAYDTGKU: PNV, tracking cm, BBT, RRL tea, vitex, HIO

R/R: I am so confused by my body this cycle. I had very obvious ewcm on CD 14, wet on CD 15, and more ewcm on CD16, but no temp shift. Which, ok fine, false alarm. It's been creamy since CD17 and now on CD 20/21 i get a temp shift, but no fertile cm. Last cycle was so nice and predictable and all these signs lined up and this cycle my body is just like sike! Have fun figuring this one out! Ugh, needless to say, I already feel out.

    CS/Questions?

GTKY:  Do you dress yourself according to your mood, or is it just me?  What is your favourite go-to outfit you put on when you want to cheer/psych yourself up? haha only if by mood you mean having a fat/skinny day. Fat day = loose flowy dresses. Skinny day = pants/skirt and a cute top.  i don't think i have an outfit that cheers me up if i'm having a blah day. But yoga pants never hurt!

    @YesOuiCan  I believe @Marley629 just had one...?

@hezzer78 I really don't think it should matter, not like temp timing anyway.  (unless you're one of the people for whom FMU throws them all totally for a loop).  It's more just about getting multiple reads in over the space of 24 hours, because if  surge only lasted 12 hours, you might miss it.  When I was doing 2x wondfos, it wasn't always the exact same time, but more or less 10-12 hours apart.  Now that I just use the CBADvs, I only take once a day, with FMU.
  • Options
@YesOuiCan I had one last week and it so much better than the HSG (not that the HSG was terrible but I had cramping with the HSG during and none with the saline). I had minor cramping afterward but nothing that a few ibuprofen couldn't help. I did take 600mg ibuprofen about 45 minutes prior to the test and was on antibiotic the day before, day of and day after. GL with your appt!!

@mpie72  Welcome!  I will also add to what @NamelessAria said that since ovulation can really only be confirmed in hindsight through seeing a sustained thermal shift, (and/or by ultrasound...
    <img src="https://big.assets.huffingtonpost.com/eye-rolling.gif" alt="">
@NamelessAria @nwegman7878  I was a little irritated too when my Creighton instructor was all, "Nope, temps don't really tell us you ovulated for sure either; the only real way is through ultrasound," and I'm just like, okay.  Sure.  let's get right on that. )

...most of us will stay in WTO until three days of higher post-O temps, at which point the Fertility Friend ap will give you, "crosshairs," if it sees that your fertility signs lined up for a definitive ovulation date, or dotted ones if it has an idea but isn't totally sure. So entering OPK and CM information is always recommended to help FF interpret your chart.  Then we confidently move on over to the TWW.  Thanks for joining in!  :D

hezzer78, I have the same question today! My wondfos were getting progressively darker the past several days (the darkest was a shade-ish lighter than the test line), but was lighter than yesterday when I tested about an hour ago...

    Cycle/Month: 1/1

    CD: 13

    WAYDTGKU: temping, opks, cm, pnv

R/R: First time testing at work today! Yay me! Oh, and while I was waiting the 5 minutes, I FINALLY beat level 382 on candy crush. Seriously, I've been stuck on that level for like 6 months or more (I got really fed up a while ago and haven't really played it much in the past few months).

CS/Questions? So, I had ewcm on Saturday and Sunday, wet yesterday, and I've had some EWCM today (haven't checked internally yet). Like I said above, my wondfos have been getting progressively darker day-by-day, but today it was lighter than yesterday. This is my first cycle, so clearly I'm still in the dark about a lot of this stuff! I plan to test again later tonight and the next few days.

GTKY: My closet is so boring - like with a capital B! I wish I could spend a bunch of money on new clothes, but I think I would feel badly if I did. We have too much other stuff that we need!

@businesswife Yeah, I'm not using wondfos - I looked them up and realized I probably should have gotten those when I started using OPKs this month, but I didn't. I'm just using the CB ones - not the digital smiley-faces - just the ones with the two lines.

I've only been testing once a day - In the directions they said that a positive means you'll O in the next 24 - 36 hours so I thought testing once a day would be enough. Is it recommended to do 2 a day with these?

If you do them once a day, there is a chance you may miss your surge (caveat: with digital, FMU only is recommended).  I'm actually a good example of this - j use both the clear blue advanced digital and the wondfos. Yesterday morning at 6:45 am, I received a Peak reading on CBAD and a negative on wondfo. (I typically take 3 a day after CD10, but skipped mid-day yesterday bc was out). Last night at 9 pm, I got a blazing positive on my wondfo.  This Morning at 6:30 am when I took it again on the wondfo, it was negative so had I only done it once a day in mornings, I would have definitely missed my surge.

Thanks for the responses! I edited to clarify - I just don't want to spend the last 4 days of my honeymoon in a bathing suit on a beach and on a plane with AF. It's not for preventing conception - we are definitely preventing with condoms for at least the CDC recommendation of 8 weeks after returning, so I'm not sure if one month of BCP is going to make a huge difference when we have to wait about 2-6 cycles depending on what happens. That's what I asked you ladies for though!

@hezzer78 My hair dresser told me to use the second urine or do it closer to 11 am. I think it depends on your body and the brand you use. I got positives with FMU on Wondfo at all times of the day for two days last month. I can't go to the bathroom at work when I want to, so that's not an option for me. Here is a link I found to an old post, and technology totally could have changed in 6 years: https://forums.thebump.com/discussion/6113886/why-are-you-not-supposed-to-use-first-morning-urine-for-opks

I know it's late but I'm trying to wind down from a busy day and feel like I need to put my thoughts on "paper"  sorry to not be doing replies but i really appreciate everyone's thoughts on the OPKs and their darkness and testing times.

    Cycle/Month: 3/4

    CD: 20

WAYDTGKU: PNV, OPKs, RRL, green tea, CM

R/R: busy day at work, wah.  Also our dog is having a relapse of her lyme disease which is really hard on us, but harder for her.  so crummy.

CS/Questions? still waiting on O.  I think i'm going to pick up some CB digis because i feel like i need to SOMETHING (read: spend money on something TTC).

GTKY:  Do you dress yourself according to your mood, or is it just me?  What is your favourite go-to outfit you put on when you want to cheer/psych yourself up? for me it isn't dress so much as it is actually doing my hair or makeup.  but a fun dress always cheers me up.  my biggest thing though to cheer me up that is "beauty" or fashion-ish is painting my nails!  always a pick me up.

@NamelessAria Thanks for the CS. This is only my 2nd month charting, so still new to it all and my temps didn't do this last month. Also, other than it being "old school," did your RE give you any reasoning or explanation on why temping isn't really used anymore? I had never heard that before.
@AliciaGoose Welcome back! I feel like I already know you since you really have been so active while benched, but glad that you get to officially join in on the fun now :) Also, thank you for the CS and personal experience. I have to keep in mind that its the shift that is important and not the actual temperatures themselves.

    TW - loss mentioned.

@AliciaGoose (and whoever else was saying that since my notifications aren't really coming in) I know that.  :) What I meant was  - I could have easily marked the two days of spotting as light flow but I was (and am) being careful in doing so because that would make my LP only 7 days and I just don't want to believe it.  So I gave myself to extra days... If I marked those days I'd be on CD 9 and still freeing flowing like crazy.  Ever since my cycle back after my second, its been super heavy and super long.  I was hoping the D&E would do a reset but no such luck it seems. ETA - Sorry for your loss. Just saw your post.

@eggplantface how was recovery after your surgery? Did you have to take any time off from Ttc? If I don't receive a BFP this cycle, I will be having two lumps removed from inside my uterus and of course I never think of questions to ask my doctor when she's right in front of me.  (Ps I have reached out to doctor since but she's on vacation until tomorrow so just looking for some insight/personal experience)
This is the second time I've had this surgery, actually. Recovery was easier the first time, in terms of when I felt back to normal and all pain was gone. I remember being back at the gym without any problem at four weeks. This time I went back to the gym at five weeks and had massive abdominal pain that night and for the next several days. I actually didn't feel back to normal until just short of the six-month mark. I can't say if that's because it was the second time, or because this surgery was different (this time was a smaller incision so my bruising from stretching the skin was really, really bad). I'm also still swollen six months later; I wasn't the first time, it went down after six weeks.

My surgeon advised waiting six months to TTC, but depending on what type of surgery you have or how big the fibroids are it could be as little as three months. In my case I had one large fibroid on the outside and one smaller one on the inside, and the surgeon got the inside one by going through the outside, which is pretty traumatic on the poor ute! But as with everything TTC, my experience has no bearing on yours :)

Did you do the HSG and saline sonogram to map the fibroids? Some good questions for the doctor are what kind of surgery will it be (laparoscopic or laparotomy), and will they go in through the vagina or the abdomen? But your surgeon would also likely answer all of those without your having to ask. Do be prepared to be useless for at least two weeks because it IS a major surgery, if you do the open incision. I'm happy to answer any other questions you have about it!
