Anyone from Maine?

I have decided to finally seek a consult with a fertility specialist.  I have been doing monitored cycles with my OBGYN, which I know is not popular on TB but I have very few choices.  From my research only two hospitals in the entire state have REs and I found two private fertility clinics in the whole state, one clinic (Fertility Centers of New England and Boston IVF), both clinics have two locations but none are close to me.  I was looking up reviews for each place and found very few reviews and no recent reviews.  If I am lucky enough to find someone from Maine who is going to a specialist, can you let me know where you go and if you are happy with the services you get.  Thanks in advance!

I'm from Maine! Been ttc for 2 years and starting seeing a RE in January. I go to dr Lannon in portland at boston ivf. So far positive experience. They are certainly different than obs though and look at things differently. Let me know if you have any specific questions

I'm also from Maine but just moved to NH. I'm planning to see someone on the Seacoast next month..are you in southern Maine? Then maybe a Portsmouth location could be an option. If they're good I could let you know!

I have been going to Coastal Womens Healthcare in Scarborough but they are just too busy to give you much attention so I wouldn't recommend it

Thanks for the response!  I have never heard of coastal women's before, but if they are too busy than its not for me.  If I'm traveling a long distance I definitely want prompt attention. I'm in the midcoast area so NH will be too far.  I'm about 1.5 hours from Portland if there is minimal traffic.

Hello! Boston IVF and Fertility Centers of New England were the only two clinics that popped up in a google search.  I emailed FCNE because their website says they offer a "free consultation", I guess I will find out if it is actually free.  What treatments are you getting done at BIVF?  Any hidden fees or things you didn't expect?

No fees I didn't expect yet. I have unexplained fertility, nothing wrong w my husband. They required a tom of blood work to test for genetic conditions etc and then we met w dr Lannon to talk. The consultation was 395 and I found him to be very caring but also made us laugh too. And I really liked him he told us his biggest concern was our emotional health during this process. I hadn't even thought of that. We did our first Iui in May but it ended in a m/c. I just had my second Iui and am in the 2ww. I'm feeling optimistic because in 2 years I never got pregnant and I did on the first Iui so we are getting closer! I hope that helps, I know how tough it can all be. Good days and bad days...
