Re: July IUI

  • kaityh1 and @isthisthereallifei'm with you ladies, i can't wait for friday too so i can start my 2ww and hopefully some magic will be happening, fx and toes crossed for u!!

@sasha29 OMG reading what you wrote about being a furnace YES!!!  I did not know that was a side effect of the clomid...i'm always HOT and exhausted.  I used to drink a pot of coffee and knew i needed to change that...but good to know some other side effects form people.  The headaches get to me too, do u take something for it.  When do you find it stops....i'm working a lot so not sure where its always coming from.

@kirtsynelson13 I know its not easy and eventhough this is my 4th round of clomid its only my 2nd IUI as well...I did start an august iui board for the rest of us ladies that have to keep on going...so i will be with you still...lets hope 2nd time is really the charm!!  wishing u lots of mature follies!!

@BecauseLove this is amazing news!!  makes total sense that it implanted late why not, really looking forward to the next numbers doubling...they are so far so lets be positive and get that sticky been!!!! When are you doing another beta?  Ku'd what that abbreviation? You ladies always toss in a new one i dont know ;)
As for me I will trigger later tonight and double down on 2 IUIs as long as everything goes to plan.  I"m nervous to get excited about it because of what happened last month.  I do have one sample in storage this time around so i need to relax and know it will happen.  Gonna try and get some acupuncture in tonight too...hopefully everything can align this month.
I TOTALLY am in agreement with you, i was looking for the same thing in insurance as you BUT the representatives dont know much about anything either. They never really made it clear about how much wouldn't be covered.  Why not cover us for at least one or two times.  I was doing more research and if the GUY has the issue thats almost the only time that IVF will be covered for some places...isn't that amazing.  So glad we're still catering to the males needs.  Makes me so angry and my OH already has children and we know he isn't the problem.  Its like hes almost insulted  that it hasn't happened already.
I seat here and keep feeling sorry for myself and you've really had a tough road getting here.  I'm trying to be happy about my one mature winner and praying she will be a slut and get it on already with the olympic swimmers.  I keep joking that they don't have good navigating skills as my OH isn't the best at that either...nor am I.  I do try to find some humor in this as well.  Really truly hoping this is your sticky healthy bean.

I want to apologize to anyone In mouthing off on being upset for just one mature follie when here it is tough for some to even get the one...its tough when we all want this so bad and try to stay positive throughout!

  • Hopeful_mom I think starting the IUI thread is good luck. :) Being that I started this group.

My next Beta is next Monday and US the following week. I guess I am kinda official as I got 2 calls today (1 from my local clinic and 1 from my fertility clinic) both saying that the numbers looked good and that we can start being kinda excited..even if cautiously so. Next Monday should tell me more and the US will really decide 1 way or other (or haha they said maybe the 2nd US would decide 1 way or the other). This process is really trying to teach me patience.

    Ku'd is Knocked Up. :)

That is awesome about getting 2 iui's no one ever said we could give that a try but the numbers look great for that! Have fun with the trigger tonight!

There are some states that the legislature has pushed for a law/rule? That insurance has to cover fertility (in specific ways). Sadly I don't live in one of those states. Maybe you do? Even though insurance isn't saying they are covering things.

Side note: Make sure your saving your receipts and stuff for TTC...lots of this can be a right off with taxes.

I am glad your finding the humor wherever you can. My DH also has no part of the struggle to get us Ku'd...so he often has had a hard time connecting to the process. So much of the stress hangs out on us ladies. :(

Ps. you can complain all you want...we each have our own burdens to bare...mine do not negate yours. :) We each have stuff that sucks...and we should be able to complain about it all we want. :)

I hope you get one beast of a follie that is all slutty and finds it sperm soulmate and happily ever after happens.

@BecauseLove  i like that!!  I was nervous to start it now i'm so glad i did, thank u ;)
thanks for making me laugh!!  work is a lil too stressful but with all these bills you have no choice, especially with the future being so uncertain right now.  I live in NY and yes its nice that I am fortunate to be able to live closer to drs then some others BUT i still find it exasperating! Yes definitely looking at holding on to things for tax time...can't wait to have that baby as the dependent HAHA!!
K'ud i knew it, in the sense meaning being preggers, but knocked up - thats great...so right in ur face but u miss it, thanks!
glad they're telling you the same thing as me...its very exciting and let ur bean just get comfy and build its home for the next 9 months.  I'm so excited for you!!
now just hoping i van actually get both the IUIs done as that was the same plan last month...and we know how that went.  Being positive and praying all will go smoothly!!  I look forward now to monday with you as hopefully my bean will start to make its home!!  Only take one!!!
    I love that you're a cougar, u go girl ;)

I also meant to add that after doing the trigger no intercourse...my work schedule is so crazy that planning the IUI i thought would be a better strategy. TMI i did dtd this AM for safety of course ;)  AND of course my OH did everything under the sun before getting home from work making me late for work.  How i'm suppose to stay calm when they, HE just doesn't get it.  AND every month its the same thing, i'm there i'm there...and then poof something else happens!!

@hopefulmom hang in there!!!  This whole trying to conceive thing is so stressful and hectic at times.  Take some time for yourself, have a pina colada :)

  • Yay! @BecauseLove So great to hear!

    @Hopeful_mom FX for you!

AFM I had another incident of spotting after DH and I BD'd.  I'm trying to not let it bother me but it is making me worry a little bit.  Does anyone else spot after BD? Also starting to have some super awesome (not) side effects from the progesterone suppositories.  I feel like I'm getting a yeast infection or something down there (sorry, TMI).  If it gets worse I think I'll call my nurse and see what she recommends.

Hope you ladies are all doing well!

  • kaityh1 maybe you're just still irritated from the IUI/side effects of the progesterone. Especially if you think you're getting a YI. Those could make you "raw" down there I'd imagine. There's a lot going on, between the IUI, the suppository, and then BD...maybe it's just a combination?

@becauselove I'm so happy for you!!! Congratulations!!! Every BFP we get gives me hope. Thanks for clarifying how to count dpo. That's what I figured, but wasn't sure. Now I just have to hold off until Friday!

Hope everyone had a great weekend and is doing well.
  • @BecauseLove congrats! Your story gives me hope!

I am 10 DPO but I'm not going to test until Sunday at least because that's what the doc said. I'm not feeling anything unusual just maybe tired from the progesterone. We are moving next weekend - actually across the street! About 6 months ago, we decided we needed to move to a smaller house that was more affordable and ideally had a bigger yard for our labs. At that time, we were planning to drop $30k on the private fertility doctor. Since then I was accepted into the military fertility program and most costs are covered. Even so, we still think it's better to move so I've been packing boxes and lifting a lot. I'm not sure if it's a good idea but it has to be done! Got a text from my dad yesterday saying not to overdo it and get help, so cute!

  • Happy that you've gotten reassurance from your team, @BecauseLove! I am rooting for you!
To answer your questions from earlier: We never made it to the movies this weekend, so we are thinking of going tonight.  We painted the living room a pale yellow (3 walls) and one pale gray. It was a tannish color before. It's so much lighter and brighter! I love it. And as for Rotary, I am a (volunteer) member of a club that has approximately 70 members. We have a service project, two lunch meetings and a social each month (one event per week). I have never traveled abroad with Rotary.

Hoping everyone else is hanging in there. I am trying not to be too anxious. Beta is swiftly (not really, I am actually counting the minutes!) approaching on Thursday. I am not letting myself get caught up in SS, because the progesterone mirrors my pregnancy symptoms so much. It's pointless. I had acupuncture yesterday, and that was a great relief.

  • @Isthisthereallife Crazy, vivid dreams. Yawning - all the time. Frequent urination. And my BMs are different. Sorry if it's TMI, but they're usually kinda loose and I have always experienced some constipation when KU. I'm not quite constipated, but they're more solid. (The things we discuss and monitor! :D) My boobs aren't really sore yet, but it's CD 22 of a typical 26-27 day cycle, so it may be early for that.

How about you? Are you feeling hopeful? Any symptoms?

  • fivetimesnoluck Thanks for the support!

Fun to pick out the colors for a space! They sound lovely!

Rotary sounds neat! I have a few friends that are in it and seem to really love it!

Hopefully you get a pocket of time to go to the movies!

I hope you get good news at your Beta on Thursday!

mandasand Thanks! We will see how the rest of my story goes but for now I am feeling pretty good about things.

Moving sucks but hopefully you will love where you move to. And make sure your getting help moving and packing things!

Toby102008 Thank you! How was your weekend?

Hopeful_mom I think the whole ttc proccess sucks...the $'s, the meds, the time, the energy, etc. I hear ya!

The first time I saw Ku'd I was like dude..a bit intense...but honestly I find it funnier than BFP at times.

My husband was married/divorced before me so I didn't feel like as much of a cougar but there are for sure moments. I do a lot of explaining things that happened in the 80's 90's that are part of my cultural norm that he has never known about or only knew about as a little kid.

Thanks for the laughs and the support!

Hoping good news is just around the corner for you!

jkd2388 Thanks! I am hoping for some big numbers next week.

    lady_grey thanks! :)

ReesaAnne16 You are the sweetest! Thanks for the support!!

kaityh1 FX for you! Hopefully its just a good sign. :)

  • SPERM QUESTION HERE FOR ALL!!!

    @BecauseLove @Toby102008 @Isthisthereallife @fivetimesnoluck @kaityh1

hi ladies - i had to check back in with you as I had my IUI today and one i'm having cramping that i didn't have as much as the first time.  BUT The thing that is concerning me the most is how LOW my OH sperm count was.

First IUI we had 67.5 million count, motile was 99, total motile was 26.8
(i thought those were good and they were happy with those numbers as well.)

    Today IUI
12.9 million count, motile was 43, total motile was 2.2

I'm just shocked and its 24hrs waiting time, yes we're stressed but i can't believe it caused that many issues.  They said its not exactly where they would like but still good enough.  I know I only need one BUT those numbers are really upsetting.  Trying to stay positive as I can....with going to acupuncture after the IUI i literally first got to work at almost 1pm.  This is all so time consuming and it kind of hurt too...doing another tomorrow.  I didn't tell my OH i don
t want to upset him and really hope that tomorrow will have a better outcome.  Has anyone gotten a positive with these type of numbers.  Maybe its my fault as we dtd mon morning just in case AND it was a few days so they said to make sure it was fresher...if that makes sense...now i'm just concerned.

hope everyone is doing well in their 2ww!!

  • @Hopeful_mom Don't worry yourself too much and definitely don't blame yourself.  If your Dr. wasn't too concerned then that is probably a good sign.  They didn't tell me and my DH what his numbers were for this last IUI, just that they looked good.  I would just wait and see how tomorrow goes!  As for the pain during the IUI, this last time I focused on keeping my whole body relaxed and wiggled my toes constantly to keep from tensing up and I think it helped a lot.  FX for you!

  • @hopefulmom  Try to not worry! I knows that so much easier said than done as it was just 8 days ago I was saying the same thing. Keep faith, it only takes one feisty swimmer! Our doc also said he wanted us to abstain for 3-5 days prior to IUI to make sure we get the best numbers/sample. Sending thoughts and baby dust!!

  • @fivetimesnoluck I've been peeing like crazy too. And having much thicker sticky cm. (TMI) I'm hoping maybe that means something!

@becauselove I had an okay weekend. Work was good but I need to slow down. I'm working a lot and doing lifting I shouldn't be doing. I've very high strung and I'm always on the go. But I know I need to slow down and stop lifting heaving residents.

@hopeful_mom I think if you're doctor did it was fine that you should be okay. Like you said, all it takes is one. I know this is all so hard and stressful, but try to hang in there. Good luck!

As for me, I'm 8dpo and the days can't move any slower. And DH was just offered a job back in Michigan. He's and iron worker so he bounces around all over. But Michigan is where we want to be. So it looks like we're going to be moving back next month. We have a house that my grandpa owns that we can rent. It will be really nice to be so close to family espcially if the IUI works. It's just stressful now because we have to get out of our lease and I don't know how that's going to go. And move EVERYTHING 4 hours north. I'm excited but super stressed. And that puts us 5 hours from my RE. So if this doesn't work, I'll be driving 5 hours for my apts and ultrasounds. This is definitely what's best for us but we have so much to do in so little time. Sorry for the rant. I'm just overwhelmed right now with everything!
  • @toby102008 certainly seems like uve got a lot going on...we all need tot ry and relax!!  Congrats on the job great thats where u want to be!!  hope u'll be able to get out of ur lease easily!!  a 5hr drive for the dr, i can't even imagine.  I had to take 5 trains to get to and from today with all my running around and that was enough for me!!  rant away thats what we're here for!!

I have to admit my hope is kind of fading. Grrrr. I woke up at 4:30 after having crazy dreams about POAS and getting a positive. (I know it was just because I had to pee and the dream is not an indicator of anything at all, but...) So I used a wondfo (first time!) and saw nothing but what I am sure was a tiny, tiny, evaporation line. Don't feel great about my chances and am trying to keep my chin up until I know for sure, but just needed to vent about that.

    How is everyone else feeling? @Isthisthereallife @kaityh1 @BecauseLove @Toby102008??

  • fivetimesnoluck I'm right there with you. I POAS on Monday and again last night and nothing. I've been having crazy dreams about it being negative. I'm telling myself that it is negative so that maybe I wont be as let down on Friday if it is.

Try and stay positive though. There is still time and you're not out until doc says so. Is your beta tomorrow?

  • @Isthisthereallife yes, tomorrow. And they always put a stat order on it, so I usually know by lunchtime (EST). I have one CB non-digital test that I will probably use tomorrow morning before DH leaves for work. I did that wondfo this morning and told him I didn't see anything and I can tell he is disappointed too.

The constant repetition of the emotional cycle is trying. I am already looking at the calendar plotting dates for our next steps. Wondering if I was at a double disadvantage to have only one mature follicle along with the low count, thinking about how DH should probably start taking the Ubiquinol that I am also taking, and just counting the dollars....

I should not have tested early. Ugh.

  • @fivetimesnoluck no luck i've never seen any line, really hoping its ur BFP!!  I'm a lil upset that i only have one mature follie this round as well but really trying to stay hopeful!!  How low was ur OH counts?

@Isthisthereallife  ur OH count was 6million after the wash?

    @becauselove how r u feeling?

i'm happy to say 2nd IUI went really well, nurse said it was textbook, so here is praying it is.. OH sperm count was still not great BUT the motility was up to 85 which is great!!  SO technically between both IUI i've got about 4.5million to get the job done.  It concerns me with the previous IUI i had 27million with 99 motility and it didn't take so that is what makes me sad.  BUT I did go to acupuncture and I'm getting pregnant this month   Really praying my sticky bean is on the way Just relived to have gotten through both IUIs successfully!

  • fivetimesnoluck You are in my thoughts! FX to you!

Toby102008 Where are you moving to in MI? If your in the UP I can see why it would be hard to find a fertility clinic up there...but maybe at Marquette Hospital?

I am sorry to hear your work is so tough right now. Anyway you can slow down?

    Isthisthereallife How are you doing?

Hopeful_mom I am so glad to hear the IUI went well! Just remember all it takes is 1 sperm. :) Sticky Bean it will be!!

    TW:

Mentally I am a bit nervous...it all feels so surreal. I know the next 2 weeks are big weeks for me in regards to if this is gonna stick or not.

Turns out I am not the wait until 12 weeks to tell people kinda person. I told 3 of my best friends I grew up with because I didn't want them to accidentally find out (I live in a small town and word of things spreads quick...and I know at least 2 people in the pharmacy heard that I was pregnant)...so that is interesting. And my mom and dad met with my brother and SIL on Monday and were talking about the family trip we do every year and they were planning for April...so I kinda had to tell my parents when we were talking about it at dinner last night...now they want me to tell my brother and SIL so they aren't planning the trip. So yeah.. that is all happening.

    Feeling mostly good physically.

TMI: Nipples are super sensitive, I have had some bouts of dizziness, and have been tired early (but honestly everything but the nipples thing could be somewhat normal for me).

  • @BecauseLove Don't worry about when you tell people, when ever you are comfortable is the right time (and congratulations!!!!!!) :) I know I won't be waiting the mystical 12 weeks to tell people. I've been blogging about the infertility because I have such a large and close extended family I didn't want to have to keep re-explaining what was going on to everyone, lol, so they all know when the IUI was and that we find out after 2 weeks. I'll probably wait a bit so we can tell our immediate families first, but no more than a month or so :)

  • @isthisthereallife There isn't an RE much closer. Maybe lower Michigan which would be about 3-4 hours away.

So ladies I have to vent! So my best friend, who's said some pretty crappy things to me the past few months about my journey tells me today I'm a sh*tty person because I avoid her and her 1 year old. That when she struggles with IF she didn't avoid her friends with kids and birthday and what not. I told her that's her and I'm a different person and it's hurtful for me. She doesn't get it and I'm just a crappy person I guess. I feel like maybe if she wasn't so insenstive to me it would maybe be easier for me to be around. But she is very rude and I don't even want to deal with it. What do I do? Am I wrong for distancing myself?

And just because your friend's attitude or life didn't change the same way yours has, doesn't mean that she can't be there for you in the way you need her to be now.

I'm sorry you're going through this. If she doesn't respect how you have had to deal with the process then she sounds like kind of a crap friend.

The friend I lost had never experienced loss or fertility issues. She is single and doesn't even really date much. But I felt like she had a hard time dealing with me, my losses and my need to isolate myself from most people. I feel like she took it personally and I just couldn't understand what she thought about this could possibly be about her?!

If you have needed to have distance, then so be it. Her job is to be there for you when you need her. But if all of our friends were good at this, then we wouldn't need the boards, right?!
