Doing Surveys for Extra Cash in Canada

Does any one have any experience doing surveys for extra cash/gift cards in Canada? Specifically Ontario? I'm looking to do it for some extra money but I'm not sure how it would work with Maternity Leave.
If you have experience my questions are:
Don you need to claim the income? I know you need to claim it over a certain amount but I'm not sure what that amount is.
What are some legitimate sites you use?
Do you find they take a lot of time?
Is it worth it?
I'd love some insight as I think it's something I'd really love to do and if I can make some bonus cash to help with bills it'd be great. Thanks so much!
