One of my girlfriend's got engaged this week and she's getting married in May. When she told me about the engagement, I was secretly more concerned about how I'll look in the photos (bridal shower, bachelorette party, wedding, etc.) 6 months post baby than I was happy for her.
I'm getting super annoyed with my mom and sisters. Last year we lost one of my sisters to ovarian cancer and in the fall I did a cycle thon as a fundraiser and in her memory. Only my parents contributed and none of them came out to support me in a three hour spin (which was only about an hour and a half away and it was only 3 months after we lost her). I sent out an email yesterday with the date for this years and it's 2 weeks before my due date - so my fiancee immediately stepped up and said he'd ride in my place, he just wanted a team since he didn't think he could do the full three hours (I did the full three hours with Again, no one from my family is stepping up and my parents said they might be going to California that weekend. (We live in New England).....two weeks before my due date. Pretty loud and clear where I stand in the family!
Oh, and everyone (2 aunts, 3 friends) keeps asking me when my shower will be (first baby) - my mom and sisters have yet to even discuss a date with me and I'm 21 weeks.....but they have no problem ripping apart my registry.
My FFFC is that as we are getting ready to hopefully move in the next couple of months I realize that all the furniture our puppy destroyed before she learned to behave was my husband's furniture before I moved in and I never liked any of it anyway. Now that she doesn't chew or pee on furniture anymore I'm secretly happy with what she ruined.
My office has an elevator. The alarm on it has been going off since everyone arrived and no one can figure out how to turn it off. Two straight hours of incessant buzzing... If it doesn't stop soon, I'm going to telly boss I'm working from home the rest of the day. Which means catching up on emails while sitting on my couch in sweatpants. I'm now honestly hoping it remains broken
I confess that secretly like all the doctor appointments this pregnancy has brought. I'm seeing mfm for a small issue that they think won't end up affecting my pregnancy but just need continued monitoring. So I see mfm and get a nice, long ultrasound every 4 weeks plus my regular ob appts. It's my last pregnancy and I'm soaking up all the extra (medical) attention and peeks at baby girl! Ps: obviously I would prefer a completely normal pregnancy with no need of extra anything but since I've got it, I am actually enjoying some aspects of it.

My FFFC has to do with 4th of July. DH gets the long weekend off (surprising because he is residency), so we are going to Chicago to see my family. I was looking forward to just having some relaxing family time.
Well now, 4 other friends from out of town have also decided to come to Chicago and to spend time with us. But this means we will be doing touristy things and going to the beach. I will still get family time, but trekking around downtown with the crowds for the holiday weekend isn't what I had in mind. But everyone else is so excited so I just have to go with it.
Tomorrow I have to go to a Quinceanera and will be using the fact that I'm supposed to be on bed rest to come home early... Its my FIL step granddaughter (pretty much) and I really don't care to be around his gf family they are so judgmental and irritating!
I am insanely, irrationally pissed that my SO's sister in law is pregnant and due a month after me. I already don't like her, with her crap parenting and constant resting bitch face, but now I feel worse. Everything's all about her, and I'm over here feeling like the red headed stepchild.
I have no family, other than my boys and my SO. This is his first and I guess I was hoping for more support. I'm sincerely concerned that we will be going it alone, since she already has his parents doing literally everything for her kids and now a new one is on the way.
This just made me laugh so hard. This is totally me when I make them something they actually ask for and then won't eat it. My middle has my same personality though so I don't get far with her.
