Short of Breath.....anyone with me??

Over the last week, the baby has settled into his favorite spot, on my right side and I can't breathe!! Sometimes laying down will get him to move, but the last couple of days nothing is working. I am 32 weeks tomorrow.  Anyone else having this issue? Any great ideas to get more comfortable??

I have been having the same problem for a couple weeks. My right side and ribs stay pretty sore because that's where she's decided to hang out. I don't really have any tips as I can't seem to alleviate the pressure either. Just letting know I feel your pain!

  • @Hannah0726 this is where my kiddo likes to hang out as well. With her feet all shoved up into my ribs. Scares the shit out of me when she gives a quick jab every once and a while!

  • Seems our little ones all have the same favorite hang out spot. This baby loves to stretch out along my right side and it hurts pretty bad. I can never breathe anymore because I have a short torso and she does not put up with being cramped very nicely.
  • I can't tell how my baby is positioned exactly, but I do know I've been having a ton of shortness of breath! Just a little walk or a mild exertion (rolling over in bed) requires a little bit of recovery!
  • LO is head-up with his head under my right lung and his butt diagonal down by the left side of my pelvis.  Any time he stretches his head is allllllll up in my diaphragm and it's tough to breathe.  As for shortness of breath, I've definitely been experiencing that pretty much from the day I found out I was actually pregnant - it was like a switch turned and the extra blood started churning.

    Baby #2 due 8/11/2016

  • This baby was doing that a while ago, and my husband had me lay on the floor with my legs up on the couch... and it worked!
  • My baby has chosen the right side to start hanging out in too. My right abdomen and ribs are super tender since she's hanging out there and kicking a lot. I haven't found anything that gets her to move except for when she wants to. It's uncomfortable to say the least but she's head down and has dropped some so my breathing has gotten easier atleast.

Rolling over in bed is the worst! I'm a beached whale. I went to my moms apartment yesterday because i forgot my sunglasses there. She lives on the third floor, and by the second floor, I called her and asked her to just drop them off the balcony. I won't be hiking up those stairs any time soon.
  • Yup there are moments I find myself panting and out of breath. This LO she loves to make me feel so uncomfortable especially at night. I miss sleep!

  • Yes to all of this!
The worst for me is at work - sometimes I have to talk to patients for a long time, and I actually run out of breath mid-sentence. Super embarrassing.
  • Yep, same here for me and to top that off, if I'm not short of breath, one can find me breathing so heavily to the point my coworkers would start looking up during our meetings to see where that's coming from.

*Raises hand* Yep, that would be me! Love awkward pregnancy moments.
  • Same here! My husband is almost a foot taller than me so when we walk together, I feel like I have to run to keep up. The heavy breathing makes me look and feel SO out of shape. Stairs/hills are the worst!
  • Think it is just normal thing of pregnancy, i walk up the stairs from doing laundry and i am out of air, i went to take my step son out swimming and out of breath, moving in bed from one side to another is the struggle, i feel like i just ate and am trying to work out when i run out of breath.
