Trouble TTC

Introducing Myself!

Hello ladies,

I was actively participating in the TTGP group for a number of months but I was really finding it difficult to see all the BFPs week after week and decided to take a break.

I'm back and thought it would be a good time to introduce myself to this group. We have just passed the one year mark...it was a sad day getting AF to start month 13. It signaled the end of TTC normally- now starts the invasive tests, meds, etc.

We have had some testing done.
Me: CD 3 & 21 bloodwork, ultrasound. Everything was normal.
DH: SA x2. Both showed high counts and motility but 3% morphology.

I am going for an HSG next week and then next cycle my OBGYN wants to trial clomid/femera. He says that he doesn't see a reason why we can't get PG and that morphology is very controversial, many ppl manage to conceive on their own despite low morph.

I'll likely trial clomid for 2-3 months then get a referral to the fertility clinic in the city to discuss more invasive options.

Thanks for listening to my story! Looking forward to participating in this group!
Me: 29 years old, DH: 31 years old
TTC #1 since July 2015
SA Feb 2016 & May 2016: Excellent count and motility, 3% morphology
Surgery Dec 2016: submucosal fibroid removed
Awaiting RE appointment

Welcome!  I also used to be on the TTGP board and I agree, there were BFP's daily (I am very happy for these people).  I just felt bad bc I rarely ovulate, my cycles are forever long, and I became frustrated.

Good luck with the HSG!  FX for you!!

  • @jmr1515 Welcome! I know your feeling with the daily BFP's, it was too much for me too, and I moved over here.

  • Welcome and good luck!
  • Hello!  This is a great board, its not as active as the ttgp board but there are great weekly updates and opportunities for you to ask questions to our small community.  My OH has great count and motility and %4 morphology which is the lowest end of normal.  We were freaked out at first but someone reminded me that %4 of 66million is a good number.  We decided to stop freaking out and I added a couple new supplements to his daily vitamin regiment.  Do you ovulate on your own?
TTC since May 2015 with domestic partner of 13 years. Me 33 OH 33.  No ovulation or natural menstruation. Normal SA.

EDD April 3 and praying things work out!
  • Thanks for everyone's lovely greeting!

@Ducks&Cats yes I ovulate on my own and have regular cycles of about 26-30 days. I temped for the first 8 months or so but it was becoming too tedious and stressful. I can pretty much pinpoint my O day based on CM and OPKs.

I am am pretty frustrated by this low morph diagnosis. DH's count was 264 million the first time and 187 million the second time with motility 60-80%. My doctor thinks these numbers are fine and we should have no problem getting pregnant. He's almost putting us in the unexplained IF category right now.
