I got a Bugaboo Chameleon with all the extras (bassinet, rain cover etc) for $150 from CL. It was in amazing shape and I thought the lady was crazy for selling it. I was going to pass the deal along but I'm glad I didn't!
My "baby" is almost 10 so I'm starting completely over with this little jelly bean! Tomorrow is my viability scan with my RE and once I hear the heartbeat, I'm wanting to just go in Babies R Us and look at everything baby. All the things!!!
I want a fancy stroller so bad. I might even get it if I can manage to not buy all the other crap.
How fancy are we talking? Uppababy fancy? An actual pram?
Yup, uppababy. DD still likes an occasional stroller ride, although I'm hoping she will content herself with the ride on board when LO comes along. The stroller we got for DD was an inherited one with space for only one kid. I sold it 2 months ago, so we neeeeed another one ^_^
I bought a swing, DD is 7 so I have none of her stuff and my best friend was selling it for 1/4th the price and it looked mint so I did it. Now I'm waiting for my ultrasound to buy other things, but I just want to go crazy. I love baby items.
I had an Uppababy and did not like it. The sunshade in particular was really small and flimsy. That bugged me a lot when walking because baby was in the bright sun. Also, it was not great for letting her recline and take a nap. it tilted the whole seat but didn't really recline. Plus it's huge and bulky if you need to carry it anywhere or put it in your trunk. I sold it to a friend and bought a Baby Jogger City Mini. Much happier.

We have a Baby Jogger City Mini from DD and I love it. A good friend of mine has an Uppa and she asked to borrow mine because she just doesn't want to deal with he Uppa on vacation.

I saw a baby onesie that says "made in Canada" and I want to go get it so bad - because baby will be conceived in Canada but born in the US... resisting for now
---TW BFP and MC mentioned - scroll down past the Lilo and Stitch gif to avoid ---
I just bought a new boppy cover for this baby since our old one is dingy. I also plan to buy the infant car seat converter for our City Select stroller (BEST stroller hands down). We didn't buy that stroller til DD was nearly a year and I don't know why I didn't just do it from the get go.
Many other purchases we will likely wait til we know the sex because we have everything from my 19 month old DD.
The day we got our BFP I bought a newborn gown with foxes all over it. I have a hunch I'm going to be obsessed with all the gowns now lol. I've also bought a few bumblebee bibs, some fitted CDs that were on sale and a couple wet bags. We're waiting to buy anything else until we move out of out loft and actually have a place to put things
I had an Uppababy and did not like it.... it tilted the whole seat but didn't really recline.
Boo. I saw one in the store and thought that was just my incompetence. I'll have to scratch that off my list - I really want a full recline if I'm going to take the weight penalty of a full size stroller.

I'm hearing this recommended a lot! It sounds great. May go that way if I go for something on the fancier side.

Hmmm I love the baby jogger city mini for general handling and responsiveness to terrain changes, traveling on a plane, weight, easy one handed fold, small occupancy in trunk, and long large canopy. For an infant you need to add an infant carrier along with an adaptor for the first 6 months or so - no thanks.
After baby can hold himself up, if your baby is awake then the highest position is too far back as they often want to sit straight up and look around. For napping, if your baby will nap, it is great as it reclines back all the way. I own one, but at 11 months my baby still doesn't seem as comfortable sitting in it as in our other stroller - we have a peg perego book plus. I love the baby jogger city mini as it is maneuverable and comfortable from the adult perspective but I think it is better for older babies - toddler+.
The baby jogger is like an open Jeep Wrangler and the peg perego is our luxury SUV lol. Pros and cons to both!

This is great feedback. I'm pretty determined to only get one stroller so back to the drawing board! What's the con of the infant carrier aspect? I just assumed that would be necessary for most stroller options.
@Xstatic3333 I will say an umbrella stroller is sooooo nice when you get to the toddler stage and for travel. We have a maclaren and it is so easy to use for quick trips and has such a small footprint for when we travel. We could never fit a full size stroller in our car with luggage. We actually just bought a second maclaren at a garage sale so that we can create a double stroller with these stroller connectors
We use the full size stroller locally if we are doing a lot of walking / want more storage for the diaper bag, snacks, etc.
@xstatic3333 The baby jogger is not an all in one system so you need the adapter for the car seat. The adapter is an extra part -yuck- and takes away from that small compact fold. If you plan to get only one stroller then I agree that this is the best hybrid.
The peg perego book plus has just the stroller frame that you plop the car seat directly into - click and go! The frame closes compactly and with one hand. When baby has outgrown that option you just attach the other seat. It doesn't fold as compactly with the older baby seat and does take up way more trunk space but we mainly use it for our daily walks so it is parked in our garage
Question for those of you with older kiddos- DS will be three in a few weeks (eek!) and I'm wondering if I should even bother getting a double stroller.
He walks most places and we rarely use the stroller, unless we're going someplace where we'd do a lot of walking ie. zoo, museum, etc.
I never used the changing table so I won't bother this time. Or a stroller! I'm hoping if I make a registry a few people will buy for me since my DD is 6 and I literally kept NOTHING!
About a week and a half before I found out I was pregnant I saw the most adorable horror movie themed onesies at a convention. I've resisted the urge to hunt down the vendor and buy all of them. I'm honestly not sure how much longer I can hold out.
When DD was an infant I used the Chicco Keyfit with the SnapnGo. I fully plan on getting another one this time. I LOVED that thing. The basket was huge and you just pop it from base to stroller. They are pretty inexpensive too.

Yes! And we just had bases in each of our cars so we could transition the baby from one car to the other no problem.

so I would count on at least two strollers!
That's a good point, an umbrella stroller wouldn't be so bad to get later on. I know those are easy to get good deals on used.

Yay or nay?
I never did. He'll be 3.5 when baby is born and that's plenty old to get walking. Only time I'd need a double is at a zoo or park or long day shopping trip - which, let's be honest, I NEVER did with both kids and just myself. And we used a wagon or a carrier if it was the rare occasion (baby in carrier, DS1 in stroller).

I wore DS a lot at the start. I recommend getting a good carrier. we also used a frame stroller that you can click the baby car seat in and out of. that was convenient for quick trips to the store without waking the kiddo. we have a Bob revolution which is great for an older baby and longer trips (zoo, walks, etc).
we bought a light weight stroller when ds was 2 that we can use for certain situations (getting through the airport, for example).

I was wondering about this too. I like the idea of the stroller connectors for 2 umbrella strollers. When #2 is really little, I could wear them and push #1 in a stroller. Any STMs recommend a sit and stand?

I still have those things (*I think*) in my attic.... so I'm guessing the bases and SnapnGo are still good and I just need a new Keyfit! I agree, it was awesome
I bought a onesie and nighty, both kinda boyish, as soon as I found out I was pregnant again as part of the pregnancy reveal to DH. He thought it was cute. he especially loved the nighty cause it had all kinds of sports balls on it LOL.

I'm holding off till I'm about 12 weeks but I have my eye on this cute little onesie that says "Worth the wait" which is really fitting since hubby and I tried for 2 years and had to do fertility treatments to conceive.

Can I just say that I love this thread! This is my first pregnancy, and I have no clue about so much stuff--strollers, what other gear I'll need, etc. I'm 7 weeks along now, but am waiting for week 12 or 13 before diving into more research.
I HIGHLY recomend the book "Baby Bargains" buy the newest eddition. it's great for cribs, car seats, etc. it's like the consumer reports for baby stuff.
