Re: PGAL Check In 6/20
How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Physically starting to be uncomfortable. Getting out of bed is getting HARD! Reaching viability has been awesome but I would not want the baby to be born now! Although I've seen some incredible micro-preemies even here in Africa who have defyed all odds. I still have days where I have fleeting panic that something could still happen which is terrible and awful and needs to stop...
Rants/Raves/Questions? I mentioned this elsewhere but I have an irrational fear that this pregnancy is going to negatively impact our adoption, which is foolish and I don't know why that thought is in my head. We hope to meet with social welfare tomorrow so positive thoughts/prayers appreciated!
Next appointment or milestone you are looking forward to? I want DH to be able to feel baby moving regularly!
GTKY: What is your favorite way to get your water/fluid intake in? Options are limited here. I was DIGGING tang for awhile and then I realized it's chuck full of terrible things like fake sugar. Oops. So mostly water. I keep a 1.5 L bottle in the fridge at work and try to refill it at least once while I am there. Aiming for AT LEAST 3 liters a day but I know it should be more. Its cold season now (cold a night/morning= around 60 F and cloudy) and then in the afternoon it tends to warm up a bit but it's still harder to drink water than in hot season.
How many any weeks and how big is baby? 21w2d
How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? These past couple days have been tough on me. We are on our staycation babymoon and have been doing a ton of walking. My legs have been cramping up so badly at night, which makes it really difficult to sleep. Today we are going to tone it down a bit, and my amazing hubby was looking up places where we could go for a prenatal massage!! Just seeing him look into that for me made it mentally so much better.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I get so hungry, but then get full so fast. I'm hating the leg cramps and hope they ease up soon. On a positive note, I am completely in love with feeling Peanut move more and more!!
Next appointment or milestone you are looking forward to? Next appointment is in 4 weeks for the glucose test, and the rest of the anatomy scan to get the remaining measurements. I'm looking forward to the ultrasound part!! Next milestones I'm looking forward to is 24 week viability, and having my husband feeling Peanut kick from the outside.
GTKY: What is your favorite way to get your water/fluid intake in? I add Mio flavors to bottled water and it makes it so much easier to drink for me!! I also love latte's, so I still usually have a decaf one almost everyday (calcium bonus).
How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Mentally I'm in shock that I'm so far along. I think I really might get my rainbow baby this time. Physically, I'm exhausted. Work has me constantly running 10-15 hr days
Rants/Raves/Questions? My H finally got to feel baby move! But only once. She's been remarkably uncooperative since.
Next appointment or milestone you are looking forward to? I have a scan tomorrow so it'll be fun to see her again. Otherwise Third-tri super-viability is the goal.
GTKY: What is your favorite way to get your water/fluid intake in? Slushes. I want ALL my drinks frozen lately.
How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Physically I'm slowing down. I struggle with limitations even though I need to let some things go, both at home and at work. I actually got a doctor's note filed at work outlining what I can/can't do at this point for my own need- my work place has been great and never asked for anything!
Mentally I still have my days. I am really looking forward to hitting viability, I think that will help. Feeling DD more frequently has been a big help too.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I am so ready to be done with the nausea at any time!! I complain about it weekly, but at least the zofran is working. Now if only I could poop too...
Next appointment or milestone you are looking forward to? Viability! Getting so close. Then third tri, and hopefully learning that my low placenta moved up.
GTKY: What is your favorite way to get your water/fluid intake in? I'm starting to get tired of my usual options. I've been drinking a lot of ice water- the more ice the better! I'm also obsessed with Starbucks' new Youthberry White Tea Granita, but it's only available after 3pm.
How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? I've been feeling really good physically, but yesterday I felt like a stuffed sausage. My skin just felt tight. I think the baby is growing, which is great, but I felt very weird and uncomfortable. Mentally I'm fine, just weepy sometimes about dumb things!
Rants/Raves/Questions? Not much - I just feel like we're finally checking things off the list. I think I've been hesitant because I was just waiting for something to go wrong, but once I hit 24 weeks we registered, set up newborn photos, made an appointment with a doula, and started arranging the nursery.
Next appointment or milestone you are looking forward to? I really want to get my July 11 GD test over with, and then third trimester will only be days away!
GTKY: What is your favorite way to get your water/fluid intake in? Just water and tea! I've always been a big water drinker so my habits haven't changed too much.
24+2
How are you feeling? Mentally and physically?
Physically I'm extremely uncomfortable, especially at night. I haven't slept much in the last week.
Rants/Raves/Questions?
Finally feeling baby move and I feel him all day, every day! At first it felt like bugs crawling under my skin and I hated it. Now it feels like thumps and it's not as weird.
Next appointment or milestone you are looking forward to?
Appointment today. Hopefully I'll get my prescription for my breast pump so I can check one more item off my to do list.
GTKY: What is your favorite way to get your water/fluid intake in?
I used to drink a lot of decaf iced tea, but I've been too lazy to make it. I'm not a big water drinker, so I bought one of these:
I need to buy a second one though so I can have in the fridge while I drink the other. Also I'm klutzy, I should've bought one with a straw. When I'm rushing, I usually end up with a lot of water down my shirt. Lol
How many any weeks and how big is baby?
25w2d, cauliflower, baseball glove, prairie dog
How are you feeling? Mentally and physically?
Pretty good mentally (except major pregnancy brain) as long as I get my daily hormone cry in. Rarely using the Doppler and not constantly thinking about loss anymore, although regardless of how old this kid is I'm not sure if I'll ever feel like there's a "safe zone." Physically getting more tired and out of breath, and starting to feel big/uncomfortable doing basics like getting changed or putting on shoes
Rants/Raves/Questions?
Not really right now
Next appointment or milestone you are looking forward to?
My shower and 28 weeks, third trimester! Although I know the 2nd is supposed to be more enjoyable and I've been feeling good, I can't believe it's only 3 weeks away
GTKY: What is your favorite way to get your water/fluid intake in?
I just try to keep my big glass water bottle filled all the time and force myself to drink as much as possible when I remember...not sure if I'm supposed to be counting, I know I probably don't get enough because I leave it out so I remember it but then it's warm/room temp. Really cold water or frozen drinks (sparingly bc I try to avoid high sugar and chemical content) are the best I can do...crunchy hospital ice would be the best!
22w5d, baby is the size of a coconut
How are you feeling? Mentally and physically?
I'm feeling good overall! Physically I feel things stretching and I'm a little sore, but so far so good Mentally I'm so weepy and stressed about it all going so fast. I dont feel ready or prepared at all, so the stress is taking its toll and theres a daily cry moment (or two)
Rants/Raves/Questions?
Ready for these leg cramps to go away! I'll have one, then I have pain in that calf for about a week and then the cycle starts over!
Next appointment or milestone you are looking forward to?
My next appointment is July 8th, so excited for that and of course viability!
GTKY: What is your favorite way to get your water/fluid intake in?
I'm a big water drinker to begin with, so I always have a tumbler full of ice water at my desk. I have also been enjoying Starbucks iced shaken green tea lemonades, they are so refreshing and you can get them with or without syrup for a lower calorie option!
I choose to believe missteacherlady16 and peggyolsonFTW are both having happy and healthy pregnancies. They were both regs on the TTGP board (which formed a private group, I believe) and I think they're also both part of that Lisa Frank private group. Maybe this board just wasn't their cup of tea, so they decided to stay in those private groups. All speculation, of course, but as I said, I'm just hoping the best for them.
How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Brain not work? Still starving but stuffed. I've not only been tearing up but also laughing hysterically. I terrified my cat last night by laughing at her so much she kept hiding behind doors.
Rants/Raves/Questions? My work accidentally paid me too much! The problem is that I was "banking" hours I work this summer so I don't have to take as much actual time off in the fall (I teach college). It looks like it's getting fixed, but my next paycheck is going to be tiny to make up for it. Boo!
Next appointment or milestone you are looking forward to? I have a boring appointment tomorrow morning. My GD test is not until July 27. I am hoping that my husband can feel the baby on the outside fairly soon (I definitely feel it moving more than I used to). My shower is August 6 - it seems far away but it's not. HOLY CRAP I AM BEHIND ON EVERYTHING.
GTKY: What is your favorite way to get your water/fluid intake in? I've always been a big water drinker, so I mostly drink a lot of water. Confession, though, I do keep the caffeine under 200mg, but I have something with caffeine more days a week than I don't. Carbonation soothes my stomach and sometimes I'm just too exhausted to function without a little boost.
How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? I am tired A LOT, my feet have been swelling which truly hurts. My brain doesn't work half the day and I have no motivation to be working most days. Still worried that everything is okay with the baby!!
Rants/Raves/Questions? This is my first pregnancy and my husbands fourth, so most the time I feel like I am doing it alone. He doesn't get excited about anything and hasn't really participated like I would hope he would. He loves and worries about me, but I just wish it was his first two even though I love my step daughters.
Next appointment or milestone you are looking forward to? Second part of the AS tomorrow, looking forward to seeing that baby in there moving and growing.
GTKY: What is your favorite way to get your water/fluid intake in? I used to be huge on water and now I am forcing myself. I drink it as much as I can at work even though it seems like a chore most days.
How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Mentally I'm Okay even though i sometimes go through days where I'm still freaking out and being a worry wart when it comes to the baby, Physically i am also okay besides a few hours during the day when i get exhausted
Rants/Raves/Questions?
Next appointment or milestone you are looking forward to? Next appointment is this Thursday to see an Asthma Specialist. My doctor wants to make sure my Asthma is under control (which i'd like to think it pretty much is) and will not affect baby once she gets here. She Mentioned that some patients who have asthma, their babies have to be sent to the NICU. =(
GTKY: What is your favorite way to get your water/fluid intake in? Old school drinking water. I haven't had a taste for any sweet drinks or sodas so i just drink water all day. SmartWater is by far my favorite!!
How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Physically, I'm feeling pretty good. Although I can really tell a difference in my feet and back with the weight gain and bigger stomach. Mentally, not great. I had my monthly pre-natal this morning, which included a followup ultrasound because at our AS they couldn't get a heart measurement. Apparently at the last meeting, the tech found a cyst on baby's right ovary. They did not mention it. So, at this appointment, the tech (different tech) brought it up and photographed it and I'm just in shock. It's very small, only a few millimeters, and she said it's certainly nothing to go home and worry over. But when I met with the midwife, she informed me she had passed the results onto the Doctor and depending on what he sees/thinks, the next step ranges from waiting until birth and handing the issue over to the pediatrician, or meeting with a specialist immediately. And from what I've read online, the end result ranges from: the problem solves itself and the cyst dissolves, or it could cause major damage to her ovaries and need surgery. From everything I've read, cysts are caused by the mother's hormones, which is why sometimes they can resolve after birth with no intervention. But after a loss, I can't help but feel guilty and really, really sad.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Does anyone have any experience with fetal ovarian cysts? I searched the boards and didn't find much.
Next appointment or milestone you are looking forward to? I guess the next appointment I'm looking forward to is the one where they tell me the cyst is gone.
GTKY: What is your favorite way to get your water/fluid intake in? Seltzer. We have a Soda Stream that we love, but since I've been pregnant drinking out of the can feels fancier and like I get to drink with DH. So we've been doing lots of flavored seltzers. And Pellegrino.
How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Doing pretty well! I'm beat by the end of the day and I get the occasional sleepies at my desk while at work, but decent energy, no real sick or awful symptom complaints. Boobs are super tender - but I'm pretty much accepting they're just never going to feel normal again...
Rants/Raves/Questions? I've had hypothyroidism for years (underactive thyroid) and have never quite gotten it leveled out. Needless to say when I got pregnant, it became a necessity to get it under control. So, off to the endocronologist I went and I'm happy to say my levels have dropped significantly putting me well into the normal range! It actually dropped to more of the lower end, now leaning me to HYPERthyroidism, but the doctor said to leave it, as it may level out the more baby grows. So, this could be the reason for the increase in energy and no weight gain so far...the thyroid is finally acting as it should!!
Next appointment or milestone you are looking forward to? Viability in a few days! And I have a growth scan in about a month with MFM - love getting to see the little bean!
GTKY: What is your favorite way to get your water/fluid intake in? It's not my favorite, but I just suck down plain old h2o. I sort of make it a game to finish 3 of my 24oz. water bottles before the end of my work day. I do like to add lemon, and lately I've taken to adding a splash of lemonade - either Newman's Own or Simply Lemonade. I'm totally craving frozen now though after everyone else's ways! Going to have try that Starbucks drink...and step up my slushy game!
How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Physically I am doing great. I am still nauseous, but that's fine. Mentally is a different story. As I get closer to my loss dates, my anxiety is getting worse. However, for now I am doing okay.
Rants/Raves/Questions?
Next appointment or milestone you are looking forward to? I have a p17 shot tomorrow, which is always fun because we get to hear her heartbeat
GTKY: What is your favorite way to get your water/fluid intake in? Nothing fun here, just plain water!
