Floaties/rafts/swimmies

what are you using in the pool to keep your little ones afloat? Besides standing right beside them of course!

Re: Floaties/rafts/swimmies

  • We got the below float for LO, he loves it.  Most of the time it looks like he is going to fall asleep when he's in it, so it must be pretty comfy :)

    What is the brand?
  • We got a blow up float that she does ok with.  She did really good the 1st time and yesterday was less interested but she has a slight phobia of water that has developed in the last week. So it could have been that.
  • We have a little yellow tube we got for like two bucks but he can't splash very well in it so he prefers to be in our arms

We have this also, not sure of the brand but it was like $15 on amazon.

We live on a lake so we also have multiple life jackets and swim vests.  We have our hot tub set to 88 degrees and are using it as a kiddie pool, we go in with her and don't use a flotation device when we do that. :-)
  • @btm013 it's swimways... we got ours at target for 19.99.  I think I have seen them at BRU too.

  • We have a blow up float that we got at Walmart, it's cute but the sunshade doesn't stay up. We also have the above float from Target and a life jacket for boating. We also hold her in the pool.
  • We mostly just hold him BC he doesn't like being in deep water without being held.
But we have a little blue splash pool that he plays in all day. I think BC he can walk around and touch the bottom himself.

  • To kindof follow along on the swimming post... Swim diapers. Are they supposed to be simply poop catchers? We used Pampers swimmers while at beach and while we were carrying our girls we got drenched in pee. Definitely not water from their suits as it was A LOT.
  • ^^correct. They only hold poop, not pee. So any time you are swimming with a baby, you are swimming with baby pee.

    Ha. Good to know...!
  • We have the same float as pictured above. I think my mom got it at walmart. My LO actually likes our big adult float better in the pool ha. It's a thick heavy foam. He sat on it with our dog for a good 30minutes the other day. Otherwise we hold him.

Yup.  We don't even put DD in a swim diaper when we bring her in the lake (assuming she has already pooped that day at least).  There is no point.  We only use them in the pool.

Right. It only catches poop. Pee goes right though.
We use a reusable swim diaper BC we swim a lot and it's the same thing just catches poop
