Return of the dreaded period

I finally got my period back (hello old friend!) and it has been exceptionally heavy and painful. Anyone else had this? Is this my new normal or is the first time just an outlier?

From my experience the first two or three are heavier/more painful and then it got better. I've always had a very light fairly painless periods so getting back to them vs what I originally had was heavenly. I must say that I'm jealous though!! I've had my period back since 5/7 weeks. And with the mini pill I get it typically every other week.

My daughter was born 9/17 and I'm on mini pill and still haven't gotten. I thought since you take the mini pill all weeks maybe that was why? But i guess not if previous poster did. Maybe I won't get until I stop BF then?

@christina4436 same here. Baby born 10/3 and on mini pill and breastfeeding still and no period either.

I was told same thing about not getting a period while breastfeeding and on the mini pill but alas, here we are
