Early Riser

does anyone else have a LO that gets up before the sun? For the last week, my little guy had been waking between 5-6am. Not only does it really suck on weekends, but on days I have to go to work, it's really difficult to get ready. I end up late to work most days and half put together. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get him to sleep longer?

Re: Early Riser

  • Mine was doing this around 6.5 months - he went through a sleep regression.  Drove me nuts. So we did 'sleep training', which basically consisted of taking away his soother. It took awhile, but for the past little while he's been waking at 5 for a bottle then going back to sleep until 7 or 7:30.

  • What time do you put baby to bed?
I put lo to bed at 6pm so he is always up between 5 and 6.
He just can't seem to make it past 6pm for bedtime,  so 11 to 12 hours sleep seems right. ..

Our LO wakes up between 3-3:30 every mor if for a bottle then sleeps until 6:30. It sucks, especially since my alarm goes off at 5 and it's already after 4 by the time she's down. I tried moving her bedtime back but it's already at 8, and she takes a catnap around 6. I tried messing with it and it was a nightmare. I just keep telling myself it's a phase. Everything's a phase. If DD1 can sleep through the night this one will too (eventually ha!)
  • @melalinga I use to put him down at 830 but we've moved it to around 745 now. He's teething right now in addition to a leap in motor development so I know that's not helping things. I just need some sleep!!!
  • I hope you can get a shift in schedule to work out, but in our experience we just had to adjust.  Coffee, coffee, coffee.  Sending you good sleep vibes!
