Cytotec not working

At my nine week u/s my DH and I were told we had a blighted ovum. We decided to go the medical route and I took my first dose of Cytotec Wednesday. It's now Friday and I've had minimal bleeding. My doctor said to alternate 2 pills vaginally and orally every four hours. Has anyone had an experience with Cytotec in which it took several days to work? I haven't been well enough (shakes, vomiting, diarrhea) to leave the house and I'm wondering when this will, if it will, kick in.
