Re: GTKY!

  • Pretty boring this time around. I took the test, was pretty sure it was going to be negative, told the hubby to go check it and he at first said "aw" but then said "just kidding!"  Followed by me staring at it for a good 10 min going "nuh uh!"

  • I wrote on our driveway, saying Hey Dad, Guess What? I'm going to be a Big Brother! Only Child Status Expiring Feb 2017.

Told DH and DS that way. They are both over the moon by it! It's been a long time waiting for this to happen.

  • Hah I woke up at like 5am and he followed me into the bathroom and was like "don't do it just wait for the blood test Wednesday it's too early" then 3 minutes later  "I can see it!!"
  • I have never done a big announcement.

I asked the IP if they wanted me to take a test before the first beta. They said ok and I told then it was positive. The beta taken the next day confirmed it was positive, we found out through an email.
  • DH was outside in the driveway getting ready to leave for a sidejob. I ran outside and showed him the super faint wondfo. He thought it was an OPK. I told him no it was a pregnancy test and that line means we are having a baby. Cue hysterical tears.

  • I bought a "I'm going to be a BIG sister" sticker for DD. While DH was in the bathroom I stuck it on her shirt and waited for him to come out. She was so into the sticker that when DH came out, she was like "Daddy look" and he looked at me all teary eyed and we kissed and cried.

  • Aww I love the Full House gif, I remember that episode!

This time around, DH knew I was going to be testing so when the positive came up on the test, I took it into the kitchen and said, "Congrats, babe! The swim team pulled through again!". Sooo romantic and special, I know lol.

With DS, we hadn't been trying so that was a surprise for both of us.

  • Nothing special, here. I took the test and yelled for DH and showed him the test!
  • I'm super boring. For background, we had a very strange experience the cycle earlier where I got two blazing positives on Dollar Tree tests but was never able to turn any other brand, including FRER. Since I should have had at least a squinter on FRER if I could turn Dollar Tree, I am calling it a very rare defective test situation. It sucked and kinda took the fun out of the whole testing thing for us.

So, when I got a super squinter on a WalMart cheapo, I called DH at work to let him know we had a shot. When the subsequent FRER was positive, I knew he was in a meeting so I texted him. So, so boring. He was surprised though, since our timing hadn't been the greatest.
  • My last two pregnancies were fun this one I didn't believe I was pregnant (long story) but when I saw two pink lines I called him immediately and he was still at work (he works over night) and he was shocked too but couldn't talk on his phone.

    Not very eventful

Mom of one adorable little boy and excited to do this again.

  • I gave H this cute onesie. I didn’t wrap it or anything. I just brought it to him in the envelope it came in. He knew before he opened it. We both cried and hugged, and then he said “My boys can swim… again!”

I woke up at 5am, tested and then tried to tell him. He was still sleeping, he grunted. I left the pregent pee stick on the sink and that is how if he find out since he did not remember me telling him in the morning, but he saw the stick :)

  • I tested in secret at 8DPO and it was stark white. I figured I'd try again so Sunday morning, 9DPO, I got up and tested and got in the shower to get ready before it was dry. I figured it would be negative so I was just going to look later. Well he gets up while I'm in the shower, starts doing things in the bathroom and he's asking me about testing. I told him it was negative the day before but it was still early. He said "Early or not there's a line today." Still in the shower, I said "No there isn't." He brought it over and sure enough, a faint but clearly visible line. I had a great idea to give him an early Father's day card and show him the test but he kind of ruined that lol.

  • I wasn't planning on testing because I didn't think it would be positive. My mom was in town and I promised her I'd take a test before she left. I took one the morning she was leaving and was absolutely shocked it was positive. I ran downstairs to show her and she confirmed she saw the line. I brought it back upstairs to show DH and we just laughed and hugged. Then I took 2 more tests to confirm and all three were brightly positive! I had a whole thing planned that I wanted to tell DH in a cute way but that flew out the window pretty quickly.
  • I told DH by giving him a birthday card that said "I hope your birthday is full of happy little surprises." Our EDD is his bday! He was surprised (we both were, two previous losses in a row and were NTNP) but we're both excited for a rainbow babe!
  • I was scheduled to go down to the clinic for a beta on Monday morning. DH knows I always POAS the day before. I took the digital test, stuck it in my pocket so my DD couldn't see it (we want to make sure things are progressing before telling her) and showed my DH. Not much mystery when everything has been scheduled!

  • TW: Loss Mentioned

My first pregnancy I bought onesie and made him a cute sign that he saw when he got home from work.  Unfortunately I miscarried a few weeks later.  This time I POAS first thing in the morning, but I had been up with heartburn the night before.  When I got back in bed he asked how I was feeling and I told him better, that it was probably because I was pregnant.  Bless his heart, he was half asleep so it took him a hot minute to figure out what was going on.
  • I got a super squinter on an Internet cheapy with FMU,  then decided to splurge on other tests just in case this was it. I got glaring BFPs on a red dye, blue dye, and digital that afternoon. Was going to tell DH all cutesy that night but I made it 20 mins before I drove straight to his office and asked if he was ready to be a dad and showed him all the tests. He actually started yelling some expletives and got down on his knees to kiss my stomach. Pretty sure with all his hooting and hollering everyone in his office figured it out lol.
  • He was cuddling with one daughter in her bed and I POAS, saw the positive and texted him the picture. His reply was "where is it?" So I told him on the bathroom sink. A couple minutes later he came into our room where i was snuggling/nursing DD2 and said "well, I guess congratulations are in order." kind of a shock as we'd been using NFP with temping and sticks- everything and had abstained during my fertile time. It's a joyous surprise though- we were planning on TTC next month!

  • Nothing special here, either!

We did IVF so it was no surprise.  The only fun thing we did is we would look at the tests together each time.  I have been taking a test every morning and every night.  I would take the test and immediately put it back in the wrapper.  Then, about 15 or so minutes later DH and I would take it out of the wrapper and we would look at it at the same time.  It was actually really fun to see the non-squinter line for the first time together!
