This is a weekly check-in for those in their 1st trimester: weeks 1 through the end of week 13. I know we've all gone through a lot to get to this point so congratulations and best of luck to all of you over the next several months!
Please post a little about yourself, your EDD (if it’s not listed below- if I left you off please let me know ) any upcoming appointments, symptoms, etc. Feel free to also share your IF journey, I know many of us can relate.

A trip to the mountains sounds lovely!! I will want to head to northern MI with DH. We go up and stay in a tiny town near Teaverse City. Other than that I don't think there is anything we HAVE to do. Maybe go to the symphony this fall a few times.

Ooo, the symphony! That reminds me, Phantom of the Opera is coming to Denver soon, I'll have to see if we can get not-ridiculously expensive tickets.

QOTW: gosh I don't even know! We are big movie goers and I know that will change once the baby is hear so I think we are going to try to get as many movie dates in before then. We are moving at the end of October & then the holidays will be here so I'm not sure I'll have energy for anything else!

@griffen5413 the last few months are going to go so quickly with the holidays right there!! I hope it is not completely exhausting. I am kind of excited to use it as an excuse to not travel at Christmas! I guess it's not really an excuse since the doctor will not allow it.
Phantom of the opera is my favorite!! It is the first Broadway Musical I saw.
My dh and I keep joking that we should continue symphony tickets and bring the baby with us. We are a bit of symphony snobs and usually will only sit in a certain small area of the hall where the sound is best and people are there to seriously enjoy it (meaning they don't bring the crunchiest snack possible in with them), but we got stuck up on the top balc for a show we really wanted to see but all the good seats sold quickly (it was not a part of our tic pkg). There was a couple there that brought their new born with them, it cried for half the performance. So I guess it is allowed!!

@vssbrm I have never seen Phantom live so I am REALLY hoping we can get tickets! That's cool that you go to the symphony so often. I do enjoy concerts, but usually it needs to be something unique for me to be happy sitting for hours.

@dragonfaerie my husband and I tease each other that we are seriously old souls, neither of us really like music of today - I love the classics and symphony tho. I think bc so much of it is so structured it helps to relax me, while music of today really agitates my anxiety. We are very lucky to be so close to the DetroitSO, they are awesome! I can sit and listen for hours, esp if it is one heavy on the strings.
Phantom is AMAZING live, I've seen it 3 times and each time was like the first. The chandelier crashing is the most epic start to a show! 1 of the 3 theaters was not really big enough for the crash, but it was still very cool!

@vssbrm You are making me so excited! The one that'll be in Denver in August/September is going to be a newer version, but it'll still be a lot of important classical parts. Regardless, I can't wait! Tickets are STILL not on sale... *grumble grumble*

Hi Ladies! This will be my last check in with you guys, I really can't believe how quickly it went! I go for my NIPT tomorrow as well as a consult with a high risk doctor due to a chronic medical condition I have. Then on Thursday I have my second appointment with my OB. It's going to be a busy week! Although I cannot wait because I haven't had an appointment in a month!!
QOTW: Nothing specific, but taking a bit of a vacation would be nice. We are trying to come up with ideas for somewhere that is drivable from Philly, preferably in a small town we can explore and hopefully a bed and breakfast. Ideas are more than welcome!!

Serious exhaustion here. Indigestion is going off and nausea comes and goes. I am seriously not complaining about these symptoms though. They are reassuring.
I have my first appt tomorrow with my OB (My RE is in Prague and I am back home) and I really just want to measure right on and see the heartbeat. I am SO nervous. The PGAL brain is tormenting me.
QOTW: What is the date night you and your SO have to do before baby comes? I have no idea. Our date nights usually consist of dinner out but as far as a date night to do before the babe comes... hmm. I guess our date nights are also weekend dates. We get out on the river and go exploring in the Utah desert a lot so I guess that we will have to boat our favorite section of river several times before the babe arrives. It has Class III/IV rapids on it so we won't be doing that together after for several years.

@susykat77 my husband is trying to get me to go an oar concert in the middle of August in Philly and I'm thinking I won't be up for it even though we go every year I feel bad. We have a camping trip with friends in July which I can't wait for. Otherwise nothing else planned except getting his home office moved to the basement and then finishing basement and twins room since they are sharing no matter there sexes.
Good morning ladies! I've been anxiously waiting to join this weekly thread, but was waiting for today's appointment to do so. Well, this morning we saw and heard the heartbeat and I cried like a baby. I'm 7w2d today and estimated due date is 1/22/17.
QOTW - not sure about specific date nights, but I'd love to take a relaxing babymoon vacation before the baby comes, maybe in early fall. Only problem is anywhere tropical like Caribbean is all Zika infested, so that's out. Will have to think about this one as I'm in NY and wouldn't want to travel far at that point.
@erica0901 have you been to Cape May in NJ? I've never been but hear it's nice. And looks like it's less than 2 hours from Philly.

I forgot to share my gripe yesterday! My mom has basically been telling everyone she knows that we are pregnant even though we specifically told her we do not plan on putting anything on FB or anything like that for a few weeks. Well one of her friends who comments on everything I put on FB commented on a picture that my mom had told them the good news and they were so excited for us. I was so ticked! I caught the comment quick enough to delete it but that's exactly why we didn't want that many people to know. My mom felt terrible but that still didn't make me feel much better. I get that she is excited for her first grandchild but sheesh!

@Griffin5413 ugh, sorry you have to go through this at such an exciting time in your life! I get your mom is excited, but she should be able to respect your privacy. It's your news to tell. This is the main reason I'm scared to tell my father in law. He has such a huge mouth! I know my parents and my mother in law will keep things quiet if we ask them, but FIL is a whole other story. He loves attention and would love to be the one to tell the world we're expecting.

hey y'all!! Can't believe I am already at 10 weeks... so crazy! Had my first OB appt last friday since being released from our RE and it was so different! But good. And I dont go back for 4 more weeks. ugh! haha! Can we say spoiled??
QOTW: We're gonna do a baby moon somewhere for sure this fall. We had a trip to Punta Cana planned but thats been rescheduled for next summer now! So we will probably just go to the beach or maybe the mountains. We have a trip planned to Michigan to see my parents for the 4th and a work trip to NYC at the end of July.. getting in all the traveling we can!
Oh man. I would be so pissed. Also what was that person thinking posting something on fb? Why not send you a text or something? i have a work trip to Nashville and Austin in November so we may make that our last trip together. And it'll be my last work trip too for the year.
Drove2u I know! It's like people have someone forgotten that they can still send a text and think the only way to communicate with someone is through FB.

-What road did you take to get your BFP (ie IUI, IVF, etc)? after failed attempts of everything else- IVF w/ FET on May 9. Transferred 2; first ultrasound yesterday SAW 1 strong heartbeat at 135 bpm at 6 weeks + 5 days. U/S tech says they'll add doppler for sound around week 10.
Although we transferred 2, and were prepared to have twins, I'm over the moon with my 1 Baby Sumo. (DH and I are neither sumo wrestlers nor Japanese, "Sumo" is just our term of love).
My RE is keeping me until week 12 and will begin to ween me off meds around week 10 and will be seeing me every 2 weeks until then.
Symptoms have been at bay so far. Fatigue really hits me around 4 or 5, occasionally with a rocking headache. I don't call it nausea as much as general discomfort/disgust at times. Cravings....are hitting DH like crazy! I'm going to have to tell him if he puts on more weight than me, I'm going to trade him in for a younger, lighter model. So far, no weight gain - but I sure as hell can't suck in my gut anymore.
QOTW: We've had 3 vacation options come up but they are all in the Caribbean and doc says "NO!" I'm trying to figure out a way to do New Orleans for DH, who's never been. Or Vegas for Halloween.

So pregnancy brain is in full swing. I was asked for the name of my OB at the clinic today and could not remember it for the life of me. My RE jokingly said that I better remember soon since I'll be making an appointment with them pretty soon. Then this afternoon I locked myself out of one of the systems at work that I use all day long. I've been using it all day today and couldn't remember my password after it logged me out. I'm also being super clumsy and DH said he's going to put me in a bubble. So not used to this side of me! Anyone else in a similar boat?

I had my NT scan today. Everything looked great and healthy. As a FTM I had no idea what to expect for the NT scan so I was pleasantly surprised when the scan lasted a good 15-20 minutes and I got to see so many different organs of the baby; it was seriously so cool! I also got bloodwork taken for the NIPT and met with a high risk doctor for a consult who told me that due to my medical condition and that I've had past abdominal surgeries that I am going to need a C-section (which was what I was prepared to hear). I will see him at 20 weeks (for the anatomy scan) and then 28 and 36 weeks to check on the growth via US.

Tulips29 - I'm definitely with you on the pregnancy brain. The other day I forgot the word milk. I was trying to remember what I needed at the store and I for the life of me could not remember milk. I guess we can look at that as a benefit though b/c anything we forget to do or "don't want to do", we can just blame on being pregnant and it's like we get a free pass!
