Hi all, now that we have arrived to 3rd trimester (yay!) are you eating smaller meals rather than eating 3 large meals / a day? Just curious if eating smaller meals can help with constant constipation.
@Edsilva14 - I'm sure it's different for everyone, but... I've been eating 4/5 small meals since ~ 25 weeks (I'm almost 32 now) and I haven't noticed any considerable difference in the amount of constipation I have now compared to before. I've been stopped up nearly constantly since the very beginning of my pregnancy no matter what.
I eat a few bites and I'm feeling stuffed so smaller meals and snacks has been my diet for the past few weeks - ugh it's pretty annoying but I don't think it has anything to do with my bathroom situation .. I'm pretty regular even while taking iron pills. I will eat 3-4 dried prunes if I'm feeling blocked and it helps 100% of the time.
I am also eating dried prunes and it works. My doc also said you can take Metamucil and I did that on one day when it was really bad constipation...just mix in water and drink.
