Getting through your due date

hi mommas! I'm wondering if anybody has some good ideas or plans to help you get through your due date. You know if you make it that far, it's going to be the longest day of your life!
I think I'll aim for a mani/pedi and maybe grab lunch with my momma if I end up trying to find things to get through the day!

Re: Getting through your due date

  • With my first, I was still working on my due date (retail job) and customers would ask when I was due...I'd look at them miserably and say "Today." They would usually say "Oh my goodness, why are you still working?"  And I'd reply "Well, I'm not having a baby obviously so what else am I supposed to do?"
    lol
This time with #3 I'm keeping busy with my other kids so I don't really have any plans other than just taking it one day at a time.  I'm due the 20th and the last day of school is the 16th so even though I'm ready, I really want her to wait until my oldest is out of school.

  • With my first I went on maternity leave a few days after, so I was at work in my due date.

With th my second we made plans, spent the morning out with some friends and we're having a bbq (just us) when I went into labor ON my due date. Nice surprise.

Im hoping this time she comes a couple days early so I don't have to worry about it :)

  • My due date was 2 days ago and I have a hard time remembering how I even passed the time. I was working from home, and I'm pretty sure that was the day I decided to clean the oven. H and I did go out for ice cream that night to mark the occasion.
  • My due date was yesterday and I celebrated by having end of year faculty meetings at work, fun! The really hard part is getting through these over due days!!!
  • Mine is tomorrow and we are gonna go to a townwide tag sale on the town green and walk around then get eggplant parm down the street!!!!

Mine was yesterday. I went to my parent's house and cleaned my car then chillaxed in their pool!

Today went by painfully slow. Still no contractions but was 3cm & 70% effaced on Tuesday.
  • I'll be working until his head is poking out, saying hello. I want as long of a maternity leave as possible!

  • Today is my due date. Planning on getting my latest assignment for school done while my husband works on cutting a cat door into our basement door so their litter box can go live down there. Then out to the hot new restaurant in town that just opened last night. Unless he comes today, had lots of contractions yesterday!
  • Due date was June 1st. Going a bit crazy but gonna get a pedicure today if possible and walk like crazy to see if anything progresses

I always plan a fancy dinner with my husband on my due date or the day after (baby #1 was 4 days late) and I get a giant steak (medium rare) and expensive glass of wine. I'm fairly disciplined during pregnancy so it's a nice treat, I figure baby is cooked at 40 weeks ;)

this time I have an aversion to steaks, so we'll probably pick a different restaurant but same idea. And I always get blowouts, manicures etc.... Might was well enjoy the last few days of "mommy's needs come first"! Also this time I'll be at the pool as much as possible with my daughter!

  • Well we planned on going out for a nice dinner yesterday (my due date), to mark the occasion, making it 40 weeks, but I went into labor right after my morning appointment!
  • I'm going to see if I can't talk my mom into going to breakfast with the girls and I tomorrow. It will be something to do besides wallowing in self pity lol!
