Anyone else only have 1 kidney?

So I was born with a solitary kidney, on my right side. It is oversize to compensate. This apparently runs in my family, because my grandpa only had one kidney as well. 

Just wondering if anyone else is special in this way? My doctor isn't worried at all since I've never had any problems (but I've always had to be carful to protect my kidney, by not playing contact sports).

However my doctor is going to do a monthly urine culture to be sure I don't get an asymptomatic UTI.

I am hoping that my baby has 2 kidneys! We want her/him to be a soccer player!

Anyone else? I think about 1 in 250 people are born with a solitary kidney, but many don't know about it.

My cat was! lol trying to relate but no, not me personally, but my very speshul cat (speshul for many more reasons than just the solo kidney)

Lol nope, sorry. The only things I wasn't born with (or will never develop?) are wisdom teeth, which kind of rocks. I do have certain dietary needs since I had a sleeve gastrectomy in 2014. I'm glad that your kidney isn't a worry during your pregnancy though! That's always a relief!

@LCartee2016 I actually had extra teeth! I had 4 1/2 wisdom teeth (one had an extra nubbin on it) and then I had 3 single rooted teeth on my lower jaw behind my front teeth! Bodies are weird.

@LCartee2016  I didn't have my top wisdom teeth either and I was also born without adult eye teeth. So strange

Hm, no experience with one kidney, but I tried to get rid of one a couple years ago (donating to my great uncle, but it didn't end up working out down the line).
Also, the first time I went to the chiropractor (probably 23 yrs old, 7yrs ago), they x-rayed me and asked if I knew I was missing one whole rib and another rib on the same side was less than half a rib.  Go figure!
