Spotting

After a busy day walking around lots, I had some very light spotting. I think I pushed myself too hard.

There were a few spots in my panties and on the toilet paper, but nothing on the panty liner after an hour. I'm not overly worried and wasn't going to do anything about it except relax (unless it gets worse, then I'll get it checked out).

Just curious other ladies ecperiences. I had spotting/bleeding in other pregnancies and it was fine... Although my pregnancies have never been successful.

Re: Spotting

  • I had super mild spotting, brown only, the day after my BFP. I called my midwife and expected her not to worry, but she actually had me come in for betas to make sure everything was doubling. It can't hurt to let your OB/midwife know, especially if you'd find an early test comforting. Sorry you're having to deal with the stress.

  • @Xstatic3333 - I was thinking the same thing. My OBGYN isn't in this week, maybe I'll make an apt with my family doctor.

@alexandra3733 I would try calling your OBGYN's office. Often times even if the doctor isn't in, you can speak with a nurse. I was told if there was major spotting or bleeding, go to the ER, but that minor spotting is normal. They may just be able to indicate whether they want you to come in to be checked out but he nurse or another OBGYN or if you should be fine.

Agreed. It might be that if they want to draw betas, a nurse can call in the order.
  • Thanks ladies... My OBGYN is out of town and my family doctor has no open appointments. So I'll have to go to a walk in today, just to be safe.

I spotted with my daughter and had pain. For me the spotting got worse and it turned out I had a sch. It did not affect her and my pregnancy went along fine.

Edit I spotted with a previous pregnancy as well and that turned out to be nothing at all.
  • I spotted with my middle child just mildly.  I was told any spotting to call my Ob, so if u can I would call the doctor or go to the ER to get checked out.   Good luck!
  • Got a hcg blood draw. Won't need a rhogam shot though because the babes is so little.

    No more spots since!
  • I had a little spotting, just on the TP not on my underwear, once yesterday. Haven't seen anything since. I see my OBGYN on Monday. Should I try to get in today or just wait?

I know for me, my midwife didn't want to actually see me over the spotting, but she did want to draw betas which would not have been done otherwise.  I'd probably just give her a call.  If she does want to draw betas the waiting is pretty nerve-wracking so better to get it started as soon as possible.  She also said that, depending on you and your SO's blood types, they might need to do a Rhogam shot.

I didn't need Rhogam because the doctor said the babe is too little, so it wasn't necessary. But any bleeding after eight weeks you might.

Hmmm, mine must be overly cautious!
