I'm 38 + 6 and I have noticed that over the weekend my stomach has gotten extremely squishy and is no longer hard. I can see almost every movement and little body parts as the baby moves....anyone else experience this? I'm nervous I may have low amniotic fluid levels but haven't noticed leakage that I know of...
I've been having spurts of contractions all weekend about 30 minutes apart that come and go. Started again this morning and carried into my first surgery of the day. Then they turn into spurts of somewhat painful contractions every 5 minutes or so. I think they mushed up all my guts because I started to feel like I had to go to the bathroom soooo badly. I had to break out of surgery and go to the restroom where I proceeded to reenact Montezumas revenge. Sitting down and drinking water right now and about to call and see if they want me to head upstairs to monitor me. Ugh.
@lalamilk you may also want to ask your doctor to check you for Cholestasis. My girlfriend, (had her baby in May) had extreme itching, but no rash, was monitored and her liver was tested. Luckily it wasn't that but just check with them and know about it! Hope you feel better!
Had my bloody show this morning... Here's hoping labor starts soon! I'm so beyond ready! But I'm also trying not to get my hopes up. I have had false labor contractions starting at 37 weeks so my hopes have been up a lot in the past few weeks and it's emotionally draining! So if it happens soon I'll be super excited but if it doesn't, I know it will happen at some point. Ugh to the waiting game.
@Backbypopulardemand I almost cried the other day when a friend told me I'd sleep better with a newborn than I do 9 months pregnant. PLEASE let that be true!!!

I was joking with my husband and said, "I wonder if sheer exhaustion is a sign of impending labor?" and then I googled it. It totes is so yeaaaaaaah, let's get this party started!
Had the bloody show once or twice a week for the past 3 weeks. Felt cervical sharp pain for 2 seconds randomly for about a week... The all over joint pain is annoying. 2 more weeks until DDay..

Ugh I just want to sleep on my stomach again!!
I'm curious about having your bloody show over such a long period of time. I'm no expert, but I was under the impression that the BS was one of THE signs that you'd be going into labor within 24 hours or so, as it signals the capillaries breaking in your cervix as it changes. Are you sure it was your BS? What did your doctor say about it?
@LadyFleck you can lose your mucous plug a couple of weeks before labor begins. I slowly lost mine all flipping weekend and let me tell that's a lot of mucous!
@randishane011804 I understood that the mucus plug and bloody show were two different things. The MP can be lost weeks ahead of labor or in the midst, but the BS usually shows up very close to labor.
Again, not an expert and I was induced last time but I have 5 nieces for which I was present during labor and birth and was convinced they were two different things....
I feel like I'm having phantom leaking, I've had a lot more discharge this past week after having none for a few weeks before that. I don't know if it's my mucus plug coming out in pieces or just normal discharge. It has been feeling wet down there for like 2 days, laying down and then standing up doesn't have an effect but I'll randomly feel a little liquid come out and it wouldn't be discharge. Nothing consistent or anything. I'm probably imagining a lot of it but it's driving me crazy!
Losing my MP was way different than my bloody show- for me at least they were two distinct events and the bloody show didn't happen until I was ~7cm. The MP happened the day before and was NBD. I wonder if it's different when you're not induced though?
I have been loosing my mucous plug for a week or so now but this morning there was bright red blood so I am thinking it was my BS but I guess I have no clue since it is my first time. I hope it was and that its almost my time! But again, I have no clue... Either way it's annoying constantly waiting and playing the guessing game. I am really over it today!
Mucus plug and bloody show are very different. The mucus plug can be lost weeks in advance. (Or can sometimes be at the same time-although mucus isn't always accompanied by blood) Bloody show means either labour is starting right away or if it's just blood you should get checked out as it can mean the placenta has started coming away from the uterus. Either way blood near the end warrants a call into L&D/OB/Midwife.
Basically pregnancy and labor are everything is normal and everything is concerning. I'm done with the damn game now my head hurts. (Along with EVERYTHING else)
Everything hurts. I think I'm going to cry about it and eat lime sorbet
Oh my GOD thank you for saying this. You just reminded me that I bought a pint of lavender ice cream this morning... It will make everything better. I hope. Especially if I eat it while sitting in my kiddy pool.
@Backbypopulardemand you had a membrane sweep yesterday right? The old blood is from that! At least that's what my midwife said to expect for a few days after a sweep or even a cervical check.
@Backbypopulardemand I'm going to go with not being a Debbie downer nor a tw, when we're all ready and had enough of this pregnancy and hope and cross fingers that it is your bloody show. If it's not your cervix it's not your bloody show.
@Backbypopulardemand I appologize if my response was insisntive in any way... I was just relaying what my midwife told me. But I am a FTM so I have no clue either and am looking for answers too
