I used to not have regular periods for years. After my daughter I nursed for a few months and started getting periods around 4 months ago. they're the most regular they've ever been, exactly 28 days apart. I took clomid to conceive my daughter, and even then ovulated on day 17, but I figured with 28 day cycles i ovulated on 14. i was sick so much last month that we really only tried on days 14,15 and 17. so i was pretty certain of my estimated date being Jan 18. i explain all that BC yesterday i would have been 6w6d and we had our ultrasound. I only measured 5w6d. there was a yolk sack and a fetal pole, but no hb yet. my dr said she thinks my due date is just off and said to come back next week and we should see a heart beat. has anybody had this happen? How'd it turn out for you? I'm feeling so bummed about it, if it's a mmc I don't want to wait another week to know

I know the next week will be difficult, it is really tough being in a sort of "not knowing" limbo but try to stay positive in the meantime.

We had a sort of similar situation, although I did know to the day when I had ovulated. An early ultrasound where the HR was low and the doctor wanted me to come back in a week. It was a long, long wait and it weighed on me but I decided that, until I saw signs of a miscarriage (bleeding, cramping), I wasn't going to borrow trouble and I would just assume the best. The recheck ultrasound was perfect, with a strong HR. Sometimes, it is just about timing and, unfortunately, there's no rushing time. If you're 5w5d, as long as the baby is growing well at the next ultrasound, then that's great but also don't be freaked out if the HR isn't where it's supposed to be because that's the time when the heart just begins to form (6-7 weeks). They couldn't tell me anything conclusively until I was 8 weeks along.
Hugs. Hope you get good news soon!
