Pregnant after 35

Talk me off the ledge please!

**updated a few posts down-  loss mentioned** Last night, my husband and I played about a half hour of tennis.  We're both terrible so it involved a lot of running but also a lot of breaks because we can't keep the ball going for much longer than 4-5 hits ;).  When I got home, I went to the bathroom and when I wiped I got a bit of bright red spotting on the TP.  This morning I got the same thing but it was brown.  I just went again and there was a little bit more (this time a little bit in the bowl and spotting in my underwear).  I don't have any cramping or clots.  I read that bleeding is common in early pregnancy, it's just scary as you know what...I really hope it's nothing.

That does sound scary for sure! It may not be anything to worry about, but IMO you should call your doctor and let them know what's happening. They know your history and will be better able to calm you and treat you that any of us here! I know it's a long weekend, but a lot of offices still have someone on call. give yourself some piece of mind!

Good luck and keep us in the loop!
  • Meh, if I call there's nothing they can do other than tell me to keep an eye on it (that's the triage nurse in me).  If I had severe cramping and bleeding I'd go to the ER.  I'm only 5 weeks so it go either way at this point.  I'm just nervous.

  • Ah man I'm so sorry that is happening:(. I'm a loss mom and I have to say I was freaked out for the early weeks for sure! I had implantation bleeding for about 5 days at the beginning of this pregnancy and had a hard time feeling confident for awhile after that. However I have read soooooo many stories of ladies here on the bump with bleeding and everything was fine. I think all you can really do is stay as calm as possible and hope for your little bean to stay put!! T&P for you!!
  • I had pink spotting at 10 weeks and my dr brought me in for an u/s. (I had two losses before this pregnancy.) The pink spotting turned brown and lasted more than a week, but I'm 31 weeks now. For what it's worth, with my second loss -- a CP -- it started with heavy red bleeding. I'm not sure if any of that helps. I hope you have a good outcome!

  • I'm afraid it's probably bad news.  Had a lot of cramping and clots this afternoon.  Took another test and it was practically negative.  Guess it was too good to be true :(
