First post! Dilation, effacement and station

I just had my first cervical check at 38 weeks. I am 1 cm dilated. My mw told me my cervix is very thin and she could feel his head right there. Anyone have a guess as to what percentage effaced I am and what station he's at? I was too excited and didn't think to ask

Unfortunately there isn't any way for anyone to tell without sticking their hands up your business which isn't exactly possible over the internet.  You could always give the midwife a call if you really need to know. 

Also, remember that while it's exciting to know your thinning out and dilating, it's entirely possible to walk around 90% effaced and 2 cm dilated for weeks and not go into labor.  It's also possible to be not dilated or effaced and deliver your baby 2 days later.

Just call and ask it is probably in her notes she may not have known you wanted the info.

I agree with calling and asking! I also know how you feel getting excited and forgetting to ask things haha! I've been 5cm, completely thinned and they also feel his head since 34 and I am currently 37+3 exciting and frustrating!!

I never knew how effaced I was with my last pregnancy -- in fact, the only place I have ever even heard the word is on The Bump! Ultimately, as @GoldenmamaJ said, it really doesn't matter. Baby comes when it comes. I know it's hard to be patient!

I went last week and was told I am 1cm, 50% thinned out. And she could feel baby's head. I'm now 37w3d.  But, you could be any % at this point:). I say, call your mw:)
