New baby 7 years younger

Does anybody have issues with baby daddy not being as comfortable or willing to spend as much time due to other sibling being older and trying to only spend time with the older sibling? (Note were a blended family so 7 year older sibling is only with us half time) This is making me feel very upset as my babies dad doesn't seem to be to be nearly as interested in our child as he is with with my step son and I feel like baby is actually being neglected by dad.

Out baby is a very easy going and content baby and I have NO issues taking him with us anywhere in fact I love bringing him with me. Iam I overreacting that his dad doesn't feel as eager to spend time with him

Re: New baby 7 years younger

  • My DS is almost 3 years old, and DD is 2.5 months. DH will hold her or watch her while I take a shower but that's about it. He spends a lot of time with DS, which is good, but I do wish he would try to bond more with DD. (To his credit, from her birth until she was about 2 weeks, he held her and spent a lot of time with her, usually so I could get some sleep and a shower.) Still, DH says that the baby stage is hard for him because they can't do very much. He gets more involved when the baby becomes more mobile. Maybe your guy's the same way.
