Last night I thought I was having terrible prodromal labor. Either it was productive or it was the real thing because...
I went to the doc today and I am at 4 centimeters. I knew something was up when he was doing the cervical check and said he felt the head. He almost sent me to the hospital right away, BUT since my contractions from last night had stopped, he reconsidered and said it would be better to go back home and wait for them to start back up. I am 38 weeks per the doc (or 37+6 according to me), but I have polyhydramnios (too much fluid) and my water is definitely bulging. He did a quick membrane sweep to help get things started, I got some lunch and I am about to go walk up and down the driveway so I won't make a mess in the house when/if my water breaks--my fluid level is still extremely high, so there are some risks involved there, like cord prolapse. Just wanted to update you ladies and hopefully I can post in the birth announcement thread soon.

Good luck!! hope everything goes well! I learned in my birthing class, but I'm sure they told you, too. If you do have the cord prolapse go on your hands and knees and stay there (even if the ambulance people want you on your back) so that the baby doesn't put pressure on the cord and cut off circulation.
Good luck! I check at 4 cm yesterday. Still no consistent contractions, even after walking behind DD on her bike all morning. I hate the waiting! Hopefully we will both go soon. Maybe we'll have birthday buddies!
